suwil68-I got my call too!!!!!! He sounded so great and he is super excited and counting down the days til graduation! I'm so glad you finally got to speak with your son and that he's doing well!

Yay for all those calls! Any confirmations on when they say they have Battle Stations?

Got the 1 hour phone call too. He sounded great and really ready for graduation. Looks like BS21 is on the 13th for 348 as well.

TG 47 — 12 Divisions (331–340, 822 & 947) Graduate Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 Get gate pass

Our Parking Pass should be available any time now. I'm watching for it.

He didn't say a for sure date, just that they get part of day off Monday for holiday (Columbus Day) and that it would be that week of graduation. Judy is correct I'm sure. So the 13th...

10 day left!!! too excited!!! I just wish I could here my bf's voice its been about 3 weeks tomorrow since I have, it would help me relax more and get thru these last 10 days... :( Im glad for the ones who got calls :)

I don’t know about you all, but the fact that our day is getting closer and that we should be able to print the parking passes at any time now has my heart beating as if it is going to come out of my chest…. OMG, I don’t know if I going to be able to concentrate in my work during the next coming days….

I got a letter from my son when I got home from vacation and he says Battlestations are Tuesday night (the 12th). I think 344 is a brother division to 343, so they are probably together?!

He also said that they had an inspection on the 27th and he really wanted to 5.0 it because the Chief said he would give theym pizza and an hour phone call. Since I didn't get the phone call, I'm thinking they didn't 5.0 it. :(

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for my Mom. I so appreciate it! She is going home this afternoon so that is a very good sign!

Thanks for posting "The Touch" video, got me fired up this morning! I have had the privilege of seeing the Blue Angels twice at the Willow Grove, PA NAS, and just thinking about those gorgeous aircraft gives me chills. And now, knowing that my son someday will be on a carrier, part of the greatest military force in the world, makes me wanna yell, Hooyah (even tho I have NO idea what that means!!)

My son's best friend who joined the Navy over a year ago came by my house on Saturday. I remember him when he was in elementary school...wow has he changed, he has gotten so tall and he was in his Navy uniform. He is in the corpsman program and will be leaving for Japan tomorrow. It feels so strange to watch these boys grow up!

@ Victoria, I've been praying for Drew and his swim test. I think he will be fine. I've been told that when they do the swim test, they divide the swimmers and non-swimmers and they will teach them how to swim. Isn't that amazing? I've heard that they want them to pass and will do everything they can to help them.

I wish I could talk to my son.....
This is the 11th hour and I wish I could tell him to grab the bull by the horns and finish it! In his letter I got last Thursday he wrote he got 5.0 on all his inspections up until September 20th. What happened? I hope he can hold on, it is just a little bit longer!

I really want to put in a plug for this young Navy couple. The business is the wife's and the hubster is an RDC. They live on base. Rates are reasonable. walking distance from the chapel and 1/2 block north of one of the NEX. Please recommend this to anyone who is considering mailing civilian stuff. Kyle fit in a HUGE back pack of gear and electronics.

Hang in there Victoria! They do want him to pass - so I'm hoping for you that he does and gets to call you! The not knowing is so hard! Keep us posted!

I havent had a call since Sept 14 when I missed my recruits call! Still going on the premise that no news is good news! Maybe I will get a letter with lots of info! hope so!

@ Kyle's mom, same here, my last call was September 14th...I even marked it on the calendar.

Me too......I kept the voice mail until I HAD to erase it.....He's been sick, in the infirmary. Maybe thats why, or I guess he could be calling friends? Hoping that he would call me. This separation weighs more on me than I ever thought.....but.....Not too much longer! I'm so excited for PIR!!! I have three letters to mail today, one from DH and two from me! Hope he gets them.

I sent a letter this morning and wrote in it that it would probably be the last one i send... but I think i will also continue to write so that i dont forget all I want to tell him and share the excitement of the last few days before PIR with him and then give them to him over PIR weekend or mail them to A School myself.

PS---I just keep refreshing the page for the gate passes....getting ancy!

@ Yamile...I think we are all going to freak out at graduation, i.e., if it ever comes! I like how he drew the little sailor outfit...makes me laugh! Awesome, I totally got a smile and laugh from that picture!

Most probably they are all prepared to see us the “grown-ups” freak out…. I know those are the little things that put a smile on my face… I glad it also made you smile…

My son wrote that he doesn't have a lot of storage space for his letters and he wants me to send him a box to mail them back....he even wrote the dimensions of the box.....Have any of you sent boxes for them to mail their letters back home?

I just printed my passes!! I printed 4!! I had to get one for the ex-husband, hell, I made his hotel reservations for him & his girlfriend!! LOL!! Good thing I like them both. I don't know why, but I have been so emotional since Devin's call on Sat. I've cried on & off ever since. Printing the passes set me off. I'm going to be a mess when I see him. I can not wait!!

Devin's mom - I totally know what you mean! Printing the passes made me teary too!! I know I'm going to be a complete mess at PIR! I'm impressed that you like your ex-husband and his girlfriend! I don't talk to mine unless its absolutely necessary! :)

@Devin's mom and Deemedic...I see by the pictures that your boys are wearing the Navy shirt...my son wore his shirt a lot! I listen to all the ex-husband stories...well, my whole weekend at PIR will be spent with my ex-family side.

I'm glad we all get along....now. It wasn't always this good, but I really like his girlfriend & my kids like her. They've been to our house for drinks & Devin's going away dinner, & we've been out together. As for the Navy shirt, I managed to get 1 for me & my ex from Devin's recruiter. When we were @ the mtg to sign for Devin to enlist as a minor, I asked the recruitor "So what do I get for signing over my 1st born child to the US Navy?" & that's how I got the shirts!!
