I see what you are saying.....its just extremely confusing to see the 12 before the word division....and 9 in front of divisions.....I see what you are saying!!!
HEY! Drewsmom2010!! I found picture of Drew on the site! He looks super adorable! but totally bald! HAHA I'll have to show you!
Andrewsmom/DIV948: Sorry I couldn't respond I was in class! But I printed out the parking permit. I would have told you the password but the directions were very clear not to show it to anyone who isn't on the guest list. I asked Andrew to add you to the list so I'm sure you'll get an official letter from the department soon and then you'll have all the info. So, don't worry. You're password might even be different from mine.
My letter received yesterday so must have been written last Thursday, has Div 345 going through BS on Wednesday the 13th which coinsides with what those in 346, their brother division have stated. It would appear that 4 divisions are going through at the same time. It may have more to do with the fact that some of these are "push" divisions than the holiday or maybe a combination of both. I am just frustrated that my son missed his "second" call because of wisdom teeth and now I will probably be flying in to Chicago when the "I'm a sailor" call comes. I have not talked to him since he left!
its on here! in the 948 discuss group. its the picture of the choir singing. My fiance Andrew is on the left! looking rather dashing in his dixie cup! hehe :]
I found a little bit of information on the internet regarding the tradition of the lbue candle.....
The lighting of a blue candle is a tradition with several different stories. The candle is lit for sailors separated from their families during the holidays, for sailors in danger far away, or to light a sailor’s way home. It’s also popularly used as a way to mark the time recruits complete the most arduous part of their training–in a sense, to bring them “home” to complete boot camp and become sailors.
Missy... that's the Schedule I have come up with, too. You should see my desk and all the post-its I have everywhere trying to follow everyone's dates! ;)
Thank you so much for the encouragement. We will both be delivering the news. Since his dad hasn't sent a letter to him, I think he may know something. I'm so looking forward to lots of hugs and loving' on! He is my boy!
When he called last week, he said that BS for ship12 div348 is Wednesday.
Its bootcamp.navy.mil go and click on "family" and then "graduation" and then "up coming graduations". then next to the graduation date will say "get passes" then it tells you want to do. If it doesnt work try downloading the new adobe and if it still doesnt try another computer. it wouldnt work on my mac!
suwil68: He will be in "indoc" on his ASchool base when he first arrives. They learn all about the base, etc....have watches too...until they start school. My son arrived on a Sunday and didn't start school for about 10 days either.
KSmom: They usually have BStations on a Monday holiday night (start then)...but they don't on the Sunday night before. At least, that has been the case since I have been on the site for the past 10 months!
Hi DanaMN,
I'm goofing off at work and thought I'd stop by to say hi! I received 2 letters from my son yesterday. He gave me Div. 342's schedule. Friday they had the gas chamber. Yesterday was the final PFA (PT test), Final test 3 on Wednesday, which is the academic part I guess, and Thursday is Battlestations. He said somewhere in that mix is an inspection! So there you have it. I hope that helps some anyway! I can't wait for this workweek to be over. Sunday I leave for Chicago. No one can put me in a bad mood this week!!!!
Yay, winniesam!!!! I am waiting for my letter this week. Hopefully it will shed some more light on 343's schedule!
I'm so EXCITED that we are getting so close. I miss my boy so much and can't wait to see him.
One of my recruits best friend (and future Sailor - he goes to boot camp in November) and another best friend are coming to the graduation as well!!! Future Sailors mom is going to bring them. (I'm wondering if the other 2 buddies are going to try to get in on the road trip when they hear about it!) We are all just PRAYING that our 3 extras (so far) will get in. My recruit is going to be so excited when he sees his cheering section. I'm debating not telling him so he'll be super surprised.
I'm really excited for the other boys to see PIR. It's really a neat experience that I know they'll never forget.
I'm so nervous for him and the divisions. You bet I will be typing away on Friday with my wonderful friends at N4Ms when I get that phone call!!! I can't stand the suspense! I'm going to Target after work to buy a blue electric candle and another blue candle. I have two at home!
@ dudesgirl....someone posted a link...I tried looking for it, I'm not sure the easiest way to find it. I know the t-shirts are ordered through Poseidon Sportswear....their number is tel 972-347-6655, fax 972-347-6658. I think I can post this...if not someone feel free to delete.
RE: -shirts w/ division flag on it: just remember you have to order black not gray because gray is special order & takes more time. Also that "ladies" style shirts run very very small. For fastest service you might try email Posiedon first, they'll email or call back, do not email your credit card number over an insecure link, just give the number over the phone. Also, the shirts are a bit "thin", not heavy-duty T's, but I guess they'll be strictly souvenirs once graduation is over!!
Jon's got a shirt and a hoodie with div 348 flag on it waiting for me. Was that bragging? You bet! (: I guess I'll head to Target tomorrow and get a blue candle so I don't feel left out. Keep the info coming. This is more exciting than the 49rs making it to the Super Bowl!
Steve told me he ordered shirts for the family too, after I already ordered our but he got us short sleeves and I ordered long so all is well I love t-shirts...steve will be staying in Great Lakes for Corpsman school, scuttlebutt is that it is backed up several weeks.

I added a discussion above for reference only.
Please note: We shouldn't share Gate Pass passwords with each other as that information is sent out to the people whom the recruit has chosen.
Please keep privacy of our Sailors information a top priority.
Remember... no last names should be posted in this area either.
THANKS!!!
