OMG! Drewsmom2010 I knew he'd come through! See, I told you how much he loves his dad! Thats just so sweet! He's grown up soo much! I'm so proud of Andrew!
Thanks everyone.. 15 years of battles he took with the grace of Men and he deserves the HooYah! And he is Navy, too, BTW...There are A-LOT of good fathers out there who endure/d the same and they all deserve a break, a tip of the hat, and a Hoo-yah!
Yes, reggie, you can. They will not be able to use it before PIR, but you are allowed to send it. Some send their recruit's glasses/contacs also so they don't have to have the coke-bottle glasses on.
Coke bottle glasses... LOL... Those glasses are "Lovingly" referred to as "BCG's" or Birth Control Glasses... as we called them back when I was in boot camp! It was NOT a might fine look for this girl! ;)
All he said was 344 is only div close to being "hall of fame" div.. They are doin really really well as a div.. he said that their rdc's dont rlly give out phone calls.. But if they had got 5.0 on their drill inspection they would of gotten an hr call bc thats their worse point as a whole.. But they got a 4.9. So close!
Need some advice: my son's letter today asks me to leave a backpack w/ his laptop, phone, ipod etc in a locker at the Chicago airport. No freakin' way! He'll be leaving a few days after PIR for Charleston. I was going to bring his things w/ me to graduation, then store them in the Lock 'n' Go outside the base, the one I've read about here that's run by a Navy couple with great service. However, another mom raised the point that the guys may not be allowed to retrieve their things off-base; my son is supposed to ship out Wed. at 4 am, so he would need to get to the Lock 'n' Go Tuesday afternoon or evening but supposedly he won't be allowed off-base to do this..... so what should I/he do?
Foalinglady - I agree with Ursula. I plan to send my son his things once he's in A School. I think he'll have enough stuff to keep track of as he transfers and I also think it's safest to send the items insured. I'm going to find out if it's ok to have delivery confirmation... I would think so.... but I'm not positive.
Also bringing him his things for the weekend though.
foaling lady: No way would I leave those things in an airport locker. What if he ends up being on a charter flight? Then he can't retrieve them. Also, you are right that he most likely will not be able to retrieve them from Lock N Go. He can't bring them back to RTC, and they will bus the sailors straight from RTC to the airport....so he couldn't get them. Only the GL A School people can use those lockers in GL. It is much better to priority mail these things to him once he is in Charleston. I did this for my son in Meridian and the package arrived in 3 days. He can call from a pay phone (or a cell from someone already there) with his address pretty soon after he arrives.
Right now I have 3 candles burning and a lamp with a blue bulb that I will keep on all night. I hope my son does well with Battle Stations. I'm going to be a wreck at work tomorrow,I am a wreck right now. Tomorrow I hope I do not have a customer when I get that phone callphone call, I am going to yell out the biggest Hooyaa! Then I won't have to worry about the customer. They'll probably run out!! LOL! I will let all of you know when I hear.
Silly question...does everyone get the ping & sonar sound effects, or am I hearing things...How do you turn them on? They are grrrrreat to listen to while you fall asleep, so I want his gf to be able to turn it on on her pc....I know, what a dumb qyestion, huh????
gonna get my candle tomorrow, gonna get a blue battery powered one though so it can be lit at night while I sleep... CANT WAIT!!!! Good luck with 341 and 342 tonight!!!
Never mind...found the control. If you don;t hear it, go to the bottom right of this screen. Look at the three symbols in grey beside where it says 120 Online. If the dot is red, left click on it once to turn on the sound effect, and use your volume control on the keyboard to turn it up. This is great!
Thanks Dana! If I had known that when they were pinging in rapid succession earlier, I would have been laughing my head off. They must have been messaging fuuuriously...lol! But it is what lulls me into a comfortable sleep at night. Makes me feel closer to him...
@ashley bob12... peace to you tonight. We have our candles lit for them...we go Tuesday, but we're behind all of them...all the way...II
Got 3 letters yesterday! He confirmed that gas chamber was yesterday for Div. 348, and they have Test #3, Battlestations, and a major inspection all this next week. He sounds super excited like me that bootcamp is almost over! He said that their division should know specifics as to when they are leaving GL, etc today the 8th. He also said that he heard they may get another phone call too. Here's to hoping that happens!!
Suwil68-No problem! Um he didn't say anything about their flag. I didn't order a tshirt either. He did say they had gotten their collar devices(not sure what that is?) and their ribbons for "joining the military during wartime". He also received a medal for marksmanship! :) So proud of him!
A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow,
but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"
God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have
to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you.
And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."
Again the small child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"
God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words
you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will
teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"
God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach
you how to pray."
"Who will protect me?"
God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth
could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave
now, please tell me my angel's name."
I am so happpy for all of you and patiently awaiting to hear all your good news- hoping for a call tomorrow to find out how my girl is doing - will keep you all posted on her progress
Well... The tears are just flowing now... THANKS, Yamile! ;) LOL... that was a very sweet story! :)
Linda - thinking of you and Nikki! I hope she is doing well. Her time will come and she will be even more thankful to be done!!! What a party that will be! :)
We should now have two divisions of new Sailors amongst us!!! I'm anxiously awaiting news of your calls, ladies!!!
Happy Friday - there are no more left until we all get to hug our Sailors!!!
Hi Victoria, Not I have not idea and that’ making things worst for me, I feel I am about to have a nervous brake down. Actually I wanted to ask if any one here knows if in fact Ship 6 is the holding Ship and if there is the only div for ship 6 (I have seeing only div 948) . I need to where my son was sent. But just like you deep in my heart I still have faith that he went thru the battle stations last night and that at any minute I’m going to get the “I am Sailor, mom” call.
Would any one know the number? I feel if I am trapped in a huge maze and unable to find the exit….
