Thanks Mama B!  He gets to re-try on monday.  You are right..RSS is keeping me emotionally drained too!  I feel more anxious than they do waiting for the news.  It is nerve racking!  Are you going to come down for the graduation?
  • roxanne

Hello all, NavyWifeApril and MamaB, You are so right. This is an emotionally draining, my son is in your husband and sons class.  He too just rolled back in this past week.  Did not hear from him til Friday, I was worried sick, but he passed Thank the Lord.  His roommates were rolled too (and came back in this week) , wonder if your guys are his roommates? hummmm.  Well Praying for April's hubby for Monday and all of our Sailors for 9/22 graduation.  This graduation will be better then winning the lottery, wish I could be there.
  • roxanne

    Hey Lydia!!!
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

    Hey yall!

Well, keep praying cause as Rox says... it aint over till the Fat Lady sings!  The last week is final exam week.  If they fail they can retest the next day if they fail that and have already been rolled one time... then they are out of the program.  If they fail and have not failed before and rolled then they will allow them to roll back into a class and take it one last time.  I know what you mean about the stress of RSS....  boy oh boy do I remember.  I think I gained 20 pounds of stress weight from all that.  My B did great...  Ateam passed all and won the honormen award to boot... but everyday and all night I lay awake think, crying, worrying, praying....  seemed like it took forever...  then one day - my girl friends who lives there was taping him receiving his grad certificate and the coveted Honormen award...  I think it did not finally hit me until he headed to CA and stopped here to see me on the way... Then I finally busted out in tears cause I realized that he was really truly on his way to achieving his ultimate dream!  To be a Rescue Swimmer in the greatest Naval Fleet in the world!  Now only 2 or so months left and I still am on pins and needles.... cause Bs fat lady aint sung all the way to the end of the song yet either!!!!!   But I think she is wrapping up that song now hahahahahaha!!!!!!

God Bless our GREAT country and may today on this 9/11 be peace and calm

  • Kyle's mom

Hello All, been absent for a time due to the devastating wild fire in Bastrop, Texas.  Our home burned to the ground and it will be next Thursday before we can return.  Please keep my sailor in your prayers as he is in Norfolk and it is hard to be away from your family at a time like this.  We are blessed with ample insurance coverage and a co-worker has loaned us a RV to live in.  Family and dogs are safe and that is what is important.
  • TexasMomof2

Kyles Mom, I have been thinking about you and wondering if you were affected and I am so sorry to hear this!  How horrible to lose everything and while having insurance is comforting it doesn't lessen the horror of this I'm sure.  So many losses......please know that I've been thinking about you and will continue to pray for comfort.  Yes, family and dogs are what's most important at this time and if your son needs anything while in Norfolk, please remember my son is also in Norfolk.  Let me know if I can be of help.  Big {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you!
  • Mama B

HOLY MOLY, I am soooo sorry for the loss of your home!!!!  Even with ample insurance it must be totally overwhelming.  Where you able to save sentimental things. My heart truly breaks for you, but like you said you have your lives and the lives of your dear pets.

We will keep you and your sailor close in prayer.  How I wish we were closer to lend you a hand, stay strong and remember it's just STUFF. God bless you...

  • CaliMom (Maryann)

Kyle'sMom-I was just talking to my son tonight (who knows your son) and he told me that your house burned.  I am so glad that you and pets are safe.  So no one was hurt? It must be so hard to lose everything. And to know that you can't even go in until Thursday to see if anything can be salvaged.
  • Christi

KylesMom- I am so sorry for the loss of your home. I am thankful that you and your family and pets are safe. God Bless and please let us know if there is anything that we can do to assist you and your family. It's what we are here for, to support each other. My prayers to you and yours.

Even though I don't post often, I read all of these posts to stay "connected". My son has a very important inspection today for his squadron that he is in charge of, hoping that all goes well, the squadron really could use the boost.

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Kyles - Oh honey how sorry I am!!!  I was so afraid of that!   I know our American Legion Post where hubby and I are members and Riders have been in contact with the Bastrop post.  I know they have ppl there even sleeping on their floors.  They turned the bar into a kitchen to serve food....  We are just waiting for them to tell us how we can help... right now they said no one from the outside can really get there to them yet.  Bless your sons heart I know he is beside himself with worry!!!  Im so glad yall are safe but I know it must be just devastating!  Im with the mommas here.... pleaas tell us what we can do to help you!!!!!

Christie praying for your boy and the inspection!

  • CaliMom (Maryann)

Christi-prayers to your son & his squadron.  Hope they do well.

Good morning everybody. So my son got his orders and will be leaving for Pensicola next week. How long will it be before classes starts?? He says he thinks he will be on hold for about 5 weeks. What do they do in the meantime?? I'm at a total loss with this new career change. It took me a while to learn about SEALS now I will need to learn this career choice! Any information would be soo appreciated!!
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

ProudMomma - if you will go up above to the discussion forum and click on View All.. on page two I posted The Path of the Rescue Swimmer... I think it will answer most all of your beginning questions... then let us know what we can help you with ... it is a LONG pipeline and believe me you will need to be here!!! We will encourage and help you as you too will encourage and help others!!!!! Welcome welcome! Your son was SEALS but changed his mind?? What was his PIR date? Im just sure I know you from some where or perhaps that was another ProudMomma?? hahahahaha

  • Andysmom

UGH! The casting didn't heal my son's broken wrist so he is having surgery Tues. 9 weeks of lost time. If they would have done the surgery right away, he would probably be on his way to San Diego already. Sad that I can't be there for him on Tues.

Kyle's mom- sorry for your loss.

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Andys.... oh geeepers!!!!  He is learning patience the hard way... but in the long run he will be stronger for it...  what kind of surgery will they do????
  • Andysmom

A permanent pinning. He is upset that he can't work out more than running. He want's to lift weights SO bad and do his daily workouts. This light duty is killing him.
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Awe man... God bless his heart!!!  Well, hey he is still our navy man!  hooyaa!
  • roxanne

Kyles mom, So sorry about your home, that must be devasting.

Navywife April, So glad your husband passed, I was praying for him.  My son's last name does start with a D, and it has four letters.  And it could be a 1st name.  Haha this is like a game. Are you going to be at the graduation?  One more day down 6 to go. Sounds like they all get along well and help each other out.

Andysmom, Praying for your son, I know it must be so hard for you. Praying for you too.

Praying for all of our Sailors!!!!
