Well, My boy has his big RSS2 flight tomorrow... he texted me that he was studying and it is important flight... so prayers for my B  no to mention all our other boys tooo!!!!   Kevin... how was your boys flights this week???

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

navymom... did you ask your boy about my boy B and buddy R ??
  • April

Congrats to all the graduates this week!

  • CaliMom (Maryann)

Lydia-he flew twice.  He thought it was awesome.  For the second flight we were just texting and I asked him about his day and he said he flew, and afterward he was exhausted, and that was typical.  So I wasn't sure if he was tired because it was the end of the day, and he had not rested much the night before, or if the flight had somehow exhausted him.
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Kevin...  funny... I talked to my B yesterday.. and I guess they fly most all day.. debrief..... then spend the evening studying for the next days flight and tests and then start  over and over... at that point he was CRANKIE!!!  Today was some BIG SAR2 flight... so Im anxious to hear from him about it....  but he is loving it thats for darn sure!!!!  Putting all that training to the test...  the photo that is my profile here was from his first flight a month or so ago... I put more photos of some of his flights on my "MY PAGE".....

    NavyWife... how are you honey???

  • roxanne

Congratulations to all of the RSS graduates, Job well done!!!!
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Any NEW beginners to RSS this week????  Or NACCS???
  • jbmom

My son arrived but has no info yet on when anything will start.  I do have a question about something else though.  When the Navy flies them from one place to another on a commercial airline, can they earn air miles from those flights?  Thanks for any info you can share.
  • Mama B

PANIC- my brother-in-law was talking to a Naval Officer in Key West and asked him why the flag was at half mast. He said there was a helicopter accident in San Diego.......Please dear Jesus I pray that none of these wonderful families are affected.
  • sweetpea4

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

okay my B said he had not heard anything nor observed anything.....  he will check into it tho.....  God bless and God speed!!!    He said he will double check tomorrow... nothing they know about????  Ill let yall know tho

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

jb... good question .. I actually do not know.. I will ask around tho!!!  Prob depends on if the sailor makes their own flights verses the Navy making them...
  • Mama B

from what my son heard a FRAC team of 9 or 10 were involved...... But Lydia can I tell u how glad i am that B is ok.
  • roxanne

NavymomGG, Thank you so much for giving my Sailor a Big Hug- You made my day-week!!! Haven't seen my son since Christmas- and won't see him til Christmas.  Next best thing to being there!
  • roxanne

Praying for all sailors and their families!
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

MamaB - I will ask him again when I talk to him today....  I can not believe that as close a community as they are that he did not hear anything about it????   Man oh Man that makes me more scared than I already am every day.  I pray so hard for angels to keep those helos safe and the pilots to have wisdom!!!  The flights the RSS boys are taking are their required flights and they are on chopper piloted by an experienced pilot AND also a Trainee pilot...  ugggggggg!!!  Ill post something on here also if I can find out more and you too please!!!!
  • sweetpea4

Google Marine helicopter crash San Diego Oct 2011. There is a story about a crash 2 Marines Killed
  • sweetpea4

Military trained pilots are the very best! Our Son's and Daughter's are in good hands! Unfortunately accidents do happen! May God Bless them and their families!!!
  • April

    Praying for all those sailors!
  • Mama B

All I can say is I'm super relieved that our boys all seem to be ok. Sometimes when things like this happen the story gets a bit distorted, but I was in a panic knowing a few of you sweet women had sons out there. Regardless Navy or Marines still going to pray for peace for their families, knowing they died doing what they loved!

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

sweetpea... thank you I will look that link up... guess that might be why my boy did not hear about it... he is not in the marine community although they are sister communities......  Ill let him know tho so he can pray for them...  he is a Believer!   Hey did you get my message sister... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Mama.... Oh geepers me too...  God love them all!  There is no difference in military... they are all one brotherhood!  =0(   We are ONE NATION UNDER GOD!

I believe this is the article... though these precious boys were in a different location and on a different base than the FRS RSS boys... they are still brothers... God bless their families and give them peace... =0( my heart is so heavy.
  • sweetpea4

Mine too! It just hits home!!!
  • NavymomGG

Hello All !! Just got back from a few days in Pensacola...I'm still floating on a cloud...

Just reading about the helo crash...unbelievably upsetting...I think we can all feel for the families since we can empathize with their pain...regardless of what branch they are in, we live with the hope that it won't enter "our world"...every story I hear regarding those in the military and their loved ones has an impact on each of us...it is difficult at times but it is a common bond that supports us as we travel this interesting journey together...Another example of how fortunate we are to have each other on Navy4moms...we understand each other in ways that others may want to but can't completely comprehend without living in these "shoes"...Thank You to All of You !!!!

Soooooo..getting back to my little adventure...we had such a great time..beautiful weather and alot of fun getting a peek into the life on base...we stayed at the Navy Lodge which we totally enjoyed..I know some people have mixed reviews but our stay was great...The "suite" had very comfy beds, it was clean and it was very updated...the best part was the access to the beach...steps out the back door...:)....

Lydia...we took a tour of the RSS building which was thrilling and when we went in, my son pointed out the plaque with your sons name on it for Honormen...I got chills and felt emotional just looking at it !!!! Sooooo happy for you and B....

Roxanne....it was so much fun getting together with T...he is adorable...we had alot of fun...I had to apologize for the extra big and long hug I gave him "from you" but it needed to be as close to real as possible..hahahahahaha...it was great to get together again with the guys and celebrate their graduation from RSS..when we went down in June, none of them had started yet and now they have each made it through and are at various places with A school...just amazing....

I remember a mom on here asking about guys who were at their sons wedding and I think my son was one of them...does your sons first name start with E ?

As usual, I pray every day for All of you and your precious Sailors !!! xoxo GG

  • sweetpea4

I missed that!!!    Such a band of brothers....  gosh I would love a picture of that plaque... hahaha.. maybe some day!

sweetpea... what a small world....   hahaha!!!  love love love!!!!

    HUGS yall!

  • NavymomGG

Lydia..I am sorry to say that I tried to take a picture of it but it didnt come out...:(  uuugghh... !!

Sweetpea...We weren't there for graduation...My son graduated in July...he is halfway through A school..he got Romeo...we just went for a visit...My son was def. at the wedding...I just txtd him and asked him if his friend who got married  just graduated this past thursday and he said yes..hahahahahaha..love it !!

  • roxanne

NavyMomGG,  T enjoyed the hug, he text me right away to tell me he got "the hug". I am just so glad you went to see them.  I am sure your son was so glad to see you, I know my son was.  Heart warming !!! Thank you so much.  I should have gone to visit, but T kept saying that he was very busy.  I will not let this much time go by again if he is in the US.

Lydia, I will see if T will go take a picture of the plaque for you!

sweetpea, Congrats to your son and the other RSS grads!!!

Praying for all Soldiers and Sailors and their families, especially those who gave their lives for our freedom!!! God be with them. Thank God for the Navy Moms and wives!!!!HUGS

  • sweetpea4

Ahh, those boys at the wedding were so sweet!
  • sweetpea4

We Mom's are so sneaky, our children won't tell us much! Funny how we work around that!!!! Small world!
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Rox..... that would be AWESOME ... when My B left for SD they had not yet put his name up on the plaque... I was gonna MAKE him take a photo... tho he would have hated doing it hahaha!!!   So kewl kewl kewl!!!!!

Navymom.... thank you so much for even just thinking about it!  Things like that are hard to capture in a photo anyway..  but I love ya for thinking of it!  And you boy for thinking of my boy!

sweetpea....  my son thinks that N4M is a spy network for mommas baahahahah.... he knows we talk and share!  =0P    hehehehe

  • sweetpea4

Yep so does mine Lydia! Mine is so tight lipped about everthing! Best of luck to the new class this week! Tues, Wed are some of the most difficult days for them!!!
  • NavymomGG

Rox...that would be great if T could get a picture for Lydia..my guy doesnt have a camera yet..planning on that for a Christmas gift...

These guys are incredibly busy...I know there have been times where I have felt slightly insulted by my son rushing off the phone or sending an extremely short txt but they have so much to deal with all the time and there is so much they are trying to control emotionally..I think it is a survival technique to keep us at arms length...I have no idea how they do it....I get bits and pieces of what their day is like and every time I do, I am more amazed at how they cope...I don't take it personally most of the time, I try not to anyway because I know he is just trying to stay in the zone that he needs to be in to stay focused and determined...I find it interesting to be with a few of the guys and each one tells you something "else" about their experiences there and I have to pretend it isnt odd or terrible or whatever else I am REALLY feeling about it...I have no idea how they get through one minute never mind months on end..It just makes me more and more proud of all of them...We have been truly Blessed with these very special souls....I am so glad they have each other, just as I am glad we have each other here...I'm not sure the guys have any idea how challenging it is for us and it's best if they don't know...their plates are overflowing as it is and we can vent and comfort each other on this site...I am soooo grateful for all of you AND your precious Sailors who comfort my Sailor !!!!

Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers....xoxoxoxoxo

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Navymom... I totally concur!!  If we did not have each other... I could not survive this already nerve wracking business of being the mom of a Rescue Swimmer...  Its funny cause on the phone we talk alot but after I ask him a few questions... hahah...  he ALWAYS says... so mom how are you and what are YOU doing.. then I know that he is ready to stop giving information hahaha....  he is so fun to talk to tho..  I actually get more info from reading some of his FB posts than when we are on the phone....  and he and his sister are extremely close...  so they actually talk about once a week for an hour or so....  so she tells me things too hahahaha~!  He dont want to worry his mamma...

So.... where are our newbie mommas with sailors on hold or just classing up to RSS.... we are very quiet in here suddenly except for us already basket case mommas??????  Guess we need to visit some of the new PIR groups and invite the 800s who are swimmer to our site here...  perhaps they just dont know about us yet... but boy oh boy they will need us soon huh!!  hahaha

Okay ... off to a military escort... bring some LIVING soldiers from Afgan and Iraq to a hunting lease..  some kind soul leased it for them to hunt on all weekend... so little do they know... that when they get to Huntsville we will be leading them to the lease... kewl huh!  Im excited tho tired!  its early for me!!1 hahah

  • April

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY US NAVY!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!  How is everyone's sailors?  Any news moms/wives/gf here?  My husband classes up for A school for Romeo next week I believe.

  • KarsonsMama

Do any of you wives, girlfriends or mama's have sons stationed anywhere on the east coast?  my son is and I was wanting to make some connections...
  • NavymomGG

Wow April..that seems pretty quick..That's great !! My son is Romeo too and he classed up soon after RSS graduation..He is a little bit more then halfway through...part of me can't wait for it to be over and then another part of me is grateful that he is "safe and sound" in school...lol...

Rox..does that mean T is classing up too?

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

ARod....  hey go up to the discussion forum above here... click on View All and go to second page... I posted a Rescue Swimmer pipeline there... it should answer alot of your questions but otherwise we are glad you are here!!!  Did he then go Rescue Swimmer?  So if he is done in Pcola then he has passed NACCS and RSS??  is he Romeo or Sierra...  well, anyhoo go up to the forum and check out page two...  Path of the Rescue Swimmer.. hope it helps... hey hang here with us ...  we all help each other!!!  My son is about finished with his Rescue Swimmer Pipeline...  he is in San Diego and is Sierra...

KarsonsMama...  yes I do think so.!!!   Kevins... and Kyles....  arent your boys on the east coasts..?????  sorry I have to ask cause my memory aint what it use to be hahaha!!!

Navywife...  GREAT... yes yall have several together I think!

  • CaliMom (Maryann)

KarsonsMama-yes, my son is in Norfolk and is Sierra.  He will be there for school until mid January, I believe.  He hasn't gotten his duty station orders yet, so don't know if he will be staying there though.

  • roxanne

NavymomGG, Yes T is supposed to class up too.  He should start on Monday.  It will be a few days short of 4 weeks since they graduated RSS.  When does your son graduate? Is A school as tough as RSS?  I know it is a lot longer.  T doesn't have a camera, but he has his IPhone. I think he may be able to take a good picture.  You and Lydia are so good with words.  I too am thankful for the good friends my son has made.  I know they help each other through the difficult times.  I am also blessed to have my N4M friends to educate, support me and to get pics when I can be their.  Thank you everyone.

NavywifeApril, How are you?  Hope A school isn't as difficult as RSS.  You must be a very strong woman.

A Rod, Welcome, Did your son just finish Romeo of Sierra?

Karsonsmama, My son is still in Pensacola and will be til Feb or March.

    Hugs to all!!

  • Mama B

Good Morning Ladies!  My J is right along the pipeline with Navywifes hubby and Rox's T sooooo......... From everything I've heard A school shouldn't be so bad I think the worst is behind them. But then again I don't want to seem too confident, they keep us on the edge of our seat.

J and several of his friends are heading to a park that has a river fed by fresh water spgs. In the river they dive down and there are caves they swim into that have air pockets. The 1st time he went, I was dying, but they seem to have a blast doing it. CRAZY BOYS!!

  • CaliMom (Maryann)

MamaB-probably the worst of the physical demands are behind them, but from what I am seeing of my son, the academic's in FRS (my son is Sierra) require alot of their mental capacity.   FRS is much harder than A school and my son spends quite a bit of time outside the schoolhouse studying.  Doesn't appear to be drudgery though.  My son is enjoying learning everything and loves the flying part.
  • Mama B

KevinHmom - good to know about FRS, see I knew there'd be something to keep us on our knees pray'in.

A Rod- how awesome to see so many of your children serving the Lord in Missions!! You could probably appreciate why my son wanted to be a Rescue Swimmer. He told me one day " I want to be the answer to someones prayer"

  • roxanne

Mama B, You are right, they do have a good time at the springs.  T went last weekend, did J go or was he on duty?  T has some high school friend visiting for the weekend.  Hope that goes well, already lectured him via a text message (texture).

    KevinHMom, How long is FRS?

ARod, I wonder if your son is in NavyMomGG's son class, he is Romeo and is more then 1/2 way done.
