NavyMomGG-congrats to your sailor. Is the time for FRS the same for Romeo as it is for Sierra?
KarsonsMama-I feel the same way about the rest of the world now knowing how smart my young man is (currently top of his FRS class). He kept his intelligence well hidden during his high school years. LOL.
momof5 - wooooow welcome!!! Now when you say A-school... is your son coming from Boot Camp and if he is a rescue swimmer rate... then please look up above here at the Discussion forum and you will see the path of the rescue swimmer up there... please read it cause it will answer a lot of your questions! The A school part of the RSS pipeline comes LAST - he will first have to pass NACCS and then pass RSS.... as far as holiday... I do know that the Pcola base goes on Stand down for two weeks and most of the kids are allowed to come home... My son was in the middle of RSS... last year and he had to submitt a request and his flight itinerary which was approved.. (at the last minute) The COs want the kids to go home because they are also on vacation with just a minimal staff... but only your son will be able to ask the appropriate question when he arrives... and these kids HATE asking questions for fear of getting repremanded.... Keep us posted sista so glad you are here!
Mom2four... kewl but hahahahaha what is T-14???
KarsonsMama - we have several mommas here with Romeo boys.. haha that sounds funny!!! hehehe great to hear from you!!!
CaliMom... no... Sierra is much less training time than Romeo.. Romeo is much more technical.. Sierra much more combat.. That was why my B wanted Sierra...couple of my friends kids are Romeo and still in training where as B just finished Sierra last week. geeeper so confusing huh! ugggg
OH and btw.... all Navy Moms and Wives have bragging rights!!! brag away! Cause our kids are the BEST!!! Oh and speaking of... my B just finished all finals with a 4.0 !!! hoooyaaaaa now two flights left and away he goes....
Lydia congrats on your Son's achievement! Whoo whooo!! my Son is right behind him in training!! No word yet on which coast he will get! Merry Christmas to all! Will have all the kids home for Christmas! One in the Navy, One junior at Penn State, One first year Med student at the UF! Sooo excited to have all our family together!!!!
it's been awhile :) just an update - we're currently living in san diego. husband is AWS has already finished SERE and is on hold for FRAC. everything is going great and he's taking some leave for the holidays! hope everyone is doing great
Lydia & NavyMomGG- I wasn't very clear. I know A school is longer for Romeo than Sierra. I was referring to the training time in FRS. I know FRS is approx 6 months for Sierra, and I was wondering if it was approx 6 months for Romeo.
And Lydia-glad to hear that your son is still knocking it out of the ball park. Good for him.
Sweetpea-glad you will get your kids home for Christmas. This is the second year that I will have that, and I cherish each one, because I know that I can't necessarily count on the next one.
Cali - sorry misunderstood ya! Its alllll so very confusing isnt it NavymomGG hahah..
Congrats to ALL mommas (and wives) in here cause it sounds to me like our men and women are rocking and rolling and moving on up! Gee... a far cry from Boot Camp for most of us at this point. Im glad! YEA for everyone getting to see their man/men for the holidays. that is a double great blessing!!!!!
Hi everyone, My husband is friends with Romeo FRAC instructor on Navy Dads, the instructor said Romeo FRAC is 11 months. Just praying that all of our Sailors. Not an easy path, Sierra or Romeo, but a rewarding one I am sure.
NavymomGG, I will definitely keep you posted on T's progress. Let me know what is going on with C. too. Praying for him, hope he gets home for Christmas.
I with Sweetpea, love to hear about all of the Sailors and where they are in their training and how it is going.
Good morning all!! I'm glad to hear there are some wonderful things happening in our families. We went shopping for a different Christmas tree this past weekend. It's surprising how hard it is to find a blue tree. We did manage to find one and it's all decorated. This was my husband's idea, something special to do for "the boy" as he jokingly calls him. We also found a rescue RC helicopter to hang from the ceiling above the Christmas village, complete with Darth Vader dangling from it. That was our daughter's idea just to make him laugh. It was hard decorating without him here this year but the look on his face when he sees what we've done will be priceless!!!! I realize it's not the normal stuff that's shared here but it's all I have until I can talk to him and find out where he is at in his training. I hope you all don't mind my sharing this. Warm hugs and best wishes for a wonderful Monday!
sweetpea4, Thank you! I can't wait until he sees it.
The next project is handmade blue stars for the rest of my family to hang in their windows. We took one of the stars from the tree to use as a template and my daughter is going to ask her teacher how to crochet them and then she'll show me. It's one way to make my daughter feel involved and give something at the same time. Here's hoping they are quick and easy, LOL. Warm Hugs to All!
NavymomGG - well, at least he will have some buddies waiting on him when he gets to SD and Im sure they are ALL on Face Book and will stay in touch... I told B a long time ago right after BC and when R decided to go in that one day I knew that they would be together again... well. low and behold... almost two years later.. they are roomates in SD for a while. hahaha and that was a miracle cause it was looking like R was gonna be in VA possibly.
Navymom93, Bet your Sailor will get a kick out of your decorating. Bless you!! Trying to think of something special to do for T.
Lydia, Glad B and R are together for now. Those guys need their friends, they help each other through the good times and bad.
NavyMomGG, I have the feeling C and T will keep in touch. I know T want SD so I will let you know what he gets in March. I have been praying for you, hope you get to see him for Christmas. C will love SD, T says it is a great place to be, everyone more relaxed.
Good morning to all you wonderful ladies!!!! I am on cloud nine, I got an email from my son last night!!!!! He said that he's been sending letters but guessed I haven't gotten them yet and that he will be with me from Christmas Day to New Year's Day!!! I am so excited!! He also said that he will be traveling with a friend and that all I need to worry about is absolutely nothing! I don't need to tell tell all of you how warm my heart is right now. All it took was a paragraph to lift me up. Now I'm going to plan a cake and a banner for him, make them and finish the blanket I'm making him. 10 days...I hope I get it all done, but if I don't, he won't be upset, he just wants hugs. OMG I CAN'T WAIT!!! Sorry, I didn't mean to yell, LOL. Warm hugs and prayers to all of you!
NavymomGG I'd rather make you giggle than cry, LOL. The magic of love is amazing and it always seems to happen when you need it the most. xoxoxo
sweetpea4, I'm glad they watch out for one another. That's been the hardest part for me. Having to depend on others to help when I can't is such a hard lesson to learn. I'm getting better at it though.
AIRR Mom 86, my thoughts and prayers remain with you that you'll get your wish.
I found out this morning that mine hasn't even started school yet and may not until February or later! He's eating, sleeping, working out, going through inspections and taking watch. Gotta love the hurry up and wait philosophy! Oh well, I'm not going to let anything stop me from enjoying all the decorating for him and having what time I do get with him. Warm hugs to all and lots of prayers as well!!!
I feel so blessed because this will be the third time this year that we have been able to spend some time with our sailor. We were able to make 2 trips to the East coast to see him, and in just a few days he will be leaving to come to the west coast to spend two weeks at home.
Praying for safe travels for the sailors that are able to come home.

Let's just say he will not be in the United States, so we don't know when we will be able to see him after he gets to his duty station. I am doubly glad for all the visits we had with him this year.
Sweetpea.... Remain Flexible... hahah that is sooo true.. being married to a PTSD Nam Veteran with all the hospital visits etc etc.. OH yes.. flexible is my middle name heheheh - Oh haha husbands and puppies... not a good combination !!!! =0P
Cali - Oh Im dreading when B gets those orders... Ill bet he already knows and just is not saying anything yet.. uggggg but yes.. we must stay positive and know that this is EXACTLY what they wanted when the signed up for this! We will all stay here together and we will help each other through all of this from Boot Camp to deployment and on past that too! Ill be here for sure!
NavymomGG you are very blessed... seeing them just one time is a life time of joy for us mommas and wives! Im tearing up now cause I just dont know the future holds and it worries me to pieces... but at least I get to collect my hugs from him in just a week!!!!!! There are never enough though!
Karsons - does he have orders yet???
NavyMom93 - its funny cause as much as we used to complain about all the hold times... at least then we knew they were here and safe ... now with some of our boys getting orders... Im wishing for those hold times again! hahahah...
Well, update on my B and the collar bone.. he is healed enough to take his last 2 flights this week and graduate (4.0 - yippie) with his class... his buddies! He is happy! Not sure exactly when the grad will be.. first of Jan I think that is why Im wondering if he has his orders but knows my heart will break when he tells me what they are. My boy loves his momma and worries about me.. I try not to say or do anything to make him worry but he does anyway! Okay now Im officially crying yall! Thinking about all our boys !
Well, anyway... Im heading to FL to be with daughter and my mom and dad and my B will fly there in a few days... Ill have my puter so Ill check in on everyone for sure. Godspeed all us traveling and our Sailors! xoxoxox Thank yall for being here for me!
Lydia, Dito what NavymomGG said about you so eloquently. Wouldn't even try to match those words, thank you for your friendship. So happy for B, finishing up his jumps and graduating.
NavymomGG, Answered prayers for me that C get to come home for Christmas. I he will be glad to be home with his family and friends.
Calimom, I am with you, I get to see my at 430pm EST I can not wait! The whole family is excited, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and we will all see him this evening.. Truly a Blessing for all!
Just wanted to check in with everyone, I have not been on in awhile. My son made it home yesterday and it was so good to see him. We all went to lunch after we picked him up from the airport and then I did not see him again until this afternoon. I expect him to be in and out. He got his new orders before he came home and in Feb. he will be SD bound. He is so excited to get to be close to home again. I know the next two weeks will fly by.
NavyMomGG-that is why I like going to visit my sailor as opposed to his coming here. When I am there, I don't have to share him with anyone when he is not at work. When he comes here, I have to share him with my whole family (I have 7 brothers & sisters), not to mention the copious amount of friends he hasnt seen since the last time he was in California.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas with their families! Our sailor got home on Saturday and is off and running, seeing friends, visiting family and finishing his shopping list! Sure is nice to have him home!!
Hi everyone! It has been a while since I checked in. My husband and I are finally back in NC for the holidays and it feels so good. We got back yesterday night. It was a nice 10 hour drive from Pcola to Charlotte. My husband is moving right along with A school (Romeo) and should graduate in March :) Hope all you ladies are doing well and having a happy holiday!
My sailor PIR'd on 12/16 and will be home for Christmas on 12/23 thanks to a new Navy "family" member who got her friends to donate frequent flier miles so he could afford to be here! While in Chicago my van broke down and I had NO extra cash or way to get it so my sailor son paid for it and would of not been able to make it home but due to the generosity of strangers and navy family he is coming home! Merry Christmas.....
Dawn in MI
although he might like the weather better in Florida :) LOL
Merry Christmas everyone! My son is home with us and I love every minute of it. Thank you to those who have prayed for him in uncertain times during this year. So far he is on track to graduate A-school in March. May God richly bless each of your families in the coming year.
MamaB, We are definitely blessed to have our son's with us!
NavywifeApril, So happy for you, looks like you and J are enjoying your time with family and friends. Love Mexican food too, it's my favorite!
NavymomGG, I hate sharing T too, even the ladies at the post office can't wait to see him. LOL I know you will enjoy your time with C and your family!
momof5, We are all blessed to have our wonderful Navy family, I couldn't and wouldn't want to go this journey alone. So glad you and your son were blessed through the generosity of strangers and this Navy family.
Lydia, Hey, sounds like you are enjoying your time with H.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Hard to believe my son has already been here a week, and a week left of his leave. Just loving having him at home.
Merry Christmas families! I hope that everyone enjoyed their day today. What a great day with our kids, hard to believe that in a week he will go again without a certain date to return home. Hope this week lasts longer than usual so we can soak up all the time he is home.
Andys.... HI how are you ???? Thank you so much!!!! 21 and holding several times.. hahahaha My boys bday today too.. he was the greatest gift God ever gave me for a bday present... we all went to Shirlock Holmes... AWESOME movie... WAR Horse is next!
Happy New year my dear friends.. and Godspeed our Sailors safely this coming year!!!!!!
Have been enjoying the time with my son while he is home, when I actually see him. I know he is dividing his time between many of his friends and am thrilled when he spends time with me and his siblings.
ochaos.. sooo funny, same with my boy... bless his heart he is trying to hang with us and spend time with buddies too. He is doing a great job of it but living on very little sleep !!! He goes back to SD at 6am in the morning... Today we will go to see War Horse.. I cant wait. We have had so much fun!
Glad you all are having a great holiday too! Be safe tonight if yall go out!

Everyone have a safe and wonderful Christmas!

Have been enjoying the time with my son while he is home, when I actually see him. I know he is dividing his time between many of his friends and am thrilled when he spends time with me and his siblings.
