Tam - hahahah there you are sista!!! I ratted you out hehehe.... So tell us about your daughter! So... when was her PIR... now you say just at the beginning but you know that A school is at the middle almost end right?? In other words... NACCS is first... then if they pass that RSS then A school then SERE/FRS either order..?? So did you go up to the forum section up above this and click on Path of the Rescue Swimmer... it gives so much info ... OHHH and if she recently PIRd please tell any other mommas wives gf dad what ever about our site... we are soooo here to help!!!!!! or just to listen... we miss our kids and being a Navy parent or any supporter is sooo hard... uggggggggggg... what a long hard pipeline.. I though after BC it was allllll over NOT...... now my son is finally through his 18 months of this and attaching to his squad... but still a roller coaster!!! so hang here with us and message me any time sista... Im here for you! As others have been here for me!!!!!!!!
Tam-welcome & congrats to your daughter. This is not an easy rate to begin with, but I think it must be even more difficult for girls. I know everyone here can empathize with you on the missing our kid/spouse while they go through the pipeline. My sailor too is just finished up FRS and will soon join his squadron. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to spill it here. It is a safe place. :)
Tam... kewl... well, she (and you ) have a long road ahead but just hang in here sweetie.... what ever you need to know or what to ask... just ask... if we dont have an answer here we will try to get it for you!!! Soooo she is on hold... okay there a few moms here with kids On hold waiting to class up.... HELLOOOO yall should speak up ..... the Hold times are long and hard... she will need to work her butt off to pump her self up mentally and physically... some kids lose it at the hold times and they drop... it is soo hard on them... make sure to tell her to hang with the kids who are determined and not the complainers... that can wear on her mentally... tell her to run, swim, PT, run swim more PT and then when she is done with that..... run, swim and more PT... ignor the negative kids and hang with the positive... please keep us posted.. there is another mom whose boy is also on hold ... wonder if they know each other... Ill message her ... its so great when kids get togehter and try .. it takes team work for sure..... dont worry about terminology.... shees Im still trying to figure it all out... ask questions if you want... we are all here... each one here has a Sailor a different part of this Pipeline and you are not the only one with one at the beginning ... so hang in there sis.. and we will help you all we can!!!! HUGS
My son has been on hold or backlog since October. (Is that the same thing?) He is still plugging along. The thing I do most is pray for him (and get as much information here as I can). Lydia has been wonderful answering so many questions! I am very thankful for that.
Hi everyone...Haven't been on for a bit...My guy was going through SERE and he said it was very important that I don't discuss anything about it so I decided to stay off...apparently it's best not to even talk about when they will be going through it..I don't know if that is being overly cautious but I chose to side with "mums the word"..lol..lol...
Congrats Lydia on B's great news. It's such a comfort when they get what they are hoping for...their joy is ours too...I'm so happy for everyones progress...
I will add the sailors who are on hold to my prayers...I know it can be very tedious for them but it is another test of endurance..They have to want it more then anything in order to make it through each class and all of the holds...
Rsmom and Rox....Yay Yay Yay..I am so excited you have discovered the connections...This is so amazing...last night I was talking to C and he was overjoyed to tell me that R was going to SD...I was so thrilled that he was laughing at my enthusiasm...when I got off the phone I was wishing that R's mom was on the site so we could communicate and tonight I get on and go back a few pages to catch up and as soon as I saw Rsmoms first post I knew my wish came true !!! How cool is that ???? Hahahahah this is hysterical...now we just need T to get SD too and it will be perfect !!!
Did anyone go to Romeo graduation today? Did you take nay pictures? if you did i would love to have one as my son was one of them. Just finished talking with him moments ago.
Have had a busy week around here, one of my older sons just got the keys to his first house and we have been cleaning and moving his stuff. Plus colleges are expressing interest in my daughter to play basketball for them and with my children blessing I have decided to go back and get my Master's Degree.
ochaos, Congrats to you and your son and your whole family. God willing my son will graduate in March.
ibmom, I know hold can be a difficultly time, my son would work out and swim as much as possible and hang out with his friends. Once they start it's very little down time.
NavymomGG, I thought you weren't on the site due to SERE. So happy for C, finishing with SERE and then hearing about R and SD. Please pray for T, today must be a difficult test today because he asked me to wish him luck.. I said I would do more then that I would pray for him. I was very excited that Rmom was on here too, I knew when I saw he was 818 and Romeo. So YEA cool to put the pieces together.
My son loved SERE, but doesn't (and can't) talk about it much. He did say though that during the interrogations they did bring me into it. He won't tell me what they said, but I know it was not nice. Don't know if they got their "ammo" from here or Facebook, and I try not to post very specific things about him. So it is wise to not be on here during SERE, but also be careful in all of your posts that you are not being too revealing about your sailor or saying something that could be used to get into your sailors head during SERE. He also did say that they didn't say anything about his dad during these interviews. So they are probably playing on the protective instincts most guys have towards females in general and their mothers in particular. Wonder if they do the opposite for the girl rescue swimmers and say mean things about dads?
Roxanne - Prayers for that T man of yours... may the answers come easily to him!!!! Yes there are many connections in here... such a small Navy world it seems.. and yes... too funny if T get SD in the spring then they will all be together for a while!!!!
Tam and jbmom - I bet your two kids know each other too and perhaps they can be of support to each other!!! Perhaps yall can message each other your kids names and when you talk to them on the phone see if they know each other.
Rmom - Your boy is Romeo I believe according to my boy.. he does know him... hey AIRRs boy is Romeo and grads Friday too so I know they must know each other also!!! .. so hope you come and hang out on the old 818 PIR 09-02 site with Rox and me and other 818s...when you have time
Sheeeees what a small world... sooo kewl.. I wish more moms wives would come and find us... Oh it On Hold... as they call it.. also be sure and go up to the discussion forum and read the Path of the Rescue Swimmer it is full of good info...
ochoas... congrats on your boys Romeo graduation! AWESOME! Where will he go now?? Does he have his squadron assignment? Also congrats on all your kids! and you as well! Super great!
NavymomGG - hi there sista... glad he is all done with that now! They all seem to do great and learn alot... Glad the guys are all doing so good! Where is Jan these days??????
Calimom - hahahaha I wonder that too!!! hummmmm my B did not mention anything about "that" so Ill have to ask him... when he was in BC... one day his RDCs called him into their office and showed him my N4M page and all my pictures... of course that was near the end and they like him and he liked them.. and two of them ride motorcycles... so they were showing HIM MY bike pictures from my MyPage.... holy cow.... how did they get on there.. I must have friended someone whom I thought was someone else... I try to be VERY careful about that... hahah... poor B was so embarrassed but actually, when they won the Cup... the 818s got to paint the Ship 4 wall and they told B that they wanted them to paint motorcycles in the scene so they did hahahah... anyhooo... yes careful what we say... always good reminder and also... too funny those spies!!!! Of course not all spies are good ones!!!! So Calimom how is he doing... grads soon too right!!!???
ochaos..Congratulations on Romeo graduation...such a huge relief !! It sounds like some wonderful shifts taking place for you and your loved ones...very courageous of you to move forward with your masters...don't need to wonder where your children get their brave and persevering example from !!
Rox..sending extra prayers to T...there is so much pressure for him and YOU!!! Every time they have a test it's like we are holding our breath waiting to hear the good news..lol...
Good evening, everyone. I am just starting on this long journey as a Navy mom as my son is still a senior in high school so he won't even go to bootcamp for quite a while. He passed his final physical test to be accepted into the rescue swimmer program on Monday. We are just waiting for the papers to be faxed to his recruiter for him to sign. I hope you won't mind if I listen in on your discussions so I can get an idea of what he is going to be facing.
Good morning everyone! My son just arrived on Jan 1. He is currently in backlog and waiting to class up. I am still unsure what can be said on this site about where they are for schooling an so forth. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and talk soon.
Jodi-I didn't know about this site until my son was just about to enter boot camp and found about it by accident from a magazine. Would have been great to know about some of this stuff beforehand. My son too contracted and was part of the DEP program since October of his senior year, and he shipped out for boot camp August after he graduated. That was in 2010 and he is now at the end of his pipeline and ready to join the fleet. Believe me, it will go faster than you think for you, and not fast enough for your sailor.
Lydia-yes, graduation is today as a matter of fact. HOOYAH!! I have asked him to have his buddy's wife take a shot of him and one of the group and send to me.
HEY my boy is in his dress blues and graduatingg his Rescue Swimmer Pipeline right now.... hooooooooooyaaaaaaaaa.... what a long road and ride! I know my son is not the only one either.... hoooyaaa to all our boys today!!!!!!! who are graduating and moving on up! Thank you Lord!!! I cant wait to see pictures of all our guys!!!!!
Jaja and Jodi!!! welcome welcome... by all means stay and hang here with us... you will need it believe me hahaha.... Oh and be sure and go up in the discussion forum up top of here and read the Path of the Rescue Swimmer it will answer a lot of your questions.. for those On Hold..... hang in there
Oh Jaja.. well, the lose lips sink ships always allpy.. we use only initials of our boys and no photos at least not with any name tags visible... I always tell everyone dont say anything that if you know a terrorist or an instructor is watching.... you would want them to read!!! (im not saying instructors are terrorists of course hahahahah)
Congratulations on your son Lydia and thank you all for the welcome. My son is captain of his swim team and his specialty is the 500 freestyle, which certainly helped on his test. He was the youngest and smallest to test on Monday and he was the only one to make it. He knows he has a hard road to go so all the information I get here I am going to pass on to him to help him get ready for this journey. Thank you for posting all the information and I look forward to getting to "know" all of you.
Heard from my son tonight. He just found out that his best buddy from pcola, who was sent to San Diego to FRS while my son went to VA are now going to be assigned to the same squadron for their duty station! How cool is that?
@ CaliMom- That's awesome! I wish them the very best! This week gave me a stroke! smh. I have to get some more prayer kneepads because the ones I had are wearing out.
Hey girls! Congrats to everyone who is moving up the pipeline! So fun to see your own journey's through your son or daughter or husband/boyfriend!
Our son is leaving Jacksonville on tues after graduating FRAC/FRS and is loading up his stuff to drive "home" to San Diego...which really is home for us! What a great ride it has been so far, and I have learned so much from this site..

Congrats to all graduates FRAC and A school and parents!!!! Prayers to you too! Congrats to RSS guys who finished week one, praying for all Sailors and their loved ones. I am proud of everyone of those young men and women who study and work hard to protect our country. They may not be on the front lines yet but everyone of them is making a major sacrifice for our nation. God Bless them!
Congrats to all the RSS graduates and all the Frac graduates. Seems like everyone is moving right along!
My hubby took his big test 14 today and has to re-take it tomorrow. So ladies I am going to need some prayers that he does well! He is so far in the Romeo A school. He knows his stuff and has done well on all the other test. Test 14 is hard and its over everything they have learned so far. So please my J some good vibes and prayers. Thanks for all your support ladies!
Hi Ladies...I'm back. I see there are lots of exciting things happening! As some of you know, R is almost finished in p'cola and will be heading to sd. No dates yet. We/he were kind of hoping for jax so he'd be closer to us (and the gf) for awhile longer but he certainly loved sd before and will be happy to be back with many of his friends. Got to trust that he is gonna be where he's supposed to be.
Navymomgg- so happy that C is over that milestone...not looking forward to that. R said he's talked to him since he's been back. We weren't really planning to go for grad, but looks like we probably will since we need to take him his surfboard & don't know when we'll get to see him next.
Good luck to all the sailors who have challenges this week!
Oh Navywife...will say special prayers as soon as I finish this...when my son had that test he was incredibly relieved...a few guys had to retake it the next day and they all passed...I know it is excrutiating for you AND him...
Thanks Roxanne...he is on hold right now but already studying to get ready...
Rmom...I just spoke to C tonight and he is really looking forward to R getting there...we were saying how T just needs to get there and it will be great for them to be together again...It's so wonderful that you will get there for graduation...I wished I could go for that but I had just been there and he was coming home...you might as well see him now while you can and enjoy every second with him...give him a hug and kiss for me..he is such a precious soul...xoxoxo
