PIR 12/17/10

TamiD - Have Faith, he will pass!  We were on our way to GL when we found out my sister did not pass her final PFA and would not graduate on Friday, 12/3.  We were granted a 2 hour visitation with her on graduation day.  Also, a special Thank You to all those new Sailors from DIV 019  my sister did BS with them on Monday night and she said they were an awesome division and everyone worked as a team even though she was not part of their division.  Bravo Zulu to all the new Sailors!!!!  FYI Abbe's call did not come until about 6 GL time.

Tami.....I am sure he will do great!  But if for some reason anyone does not pass BS you are given the opportunity to visit them for 2 hours on Friday.  From my experience it is worth the drive..........because they need to see you.  It helps lift their spirits to help them move forward.  And it was probably even better for my spirits that I got to see my recruit and see for myself that she was ok.

I saw on RTC site that we cant take our luggage with us. what are we to do with it ?

Looks like all went last night...23, 24, 904, 905.  Has anyone heard from a sailor from 905?

Just got off the phone with my sailor!!!!!  He sounded tired, but good.

I am so glad I didn't have to wait another day!! WOOHOO!

It is official....my daughter Ship 02 Division 904 is a Sailor...sounded good...very relieved that it is over.   Looking forward to seeing us...and better...my son, another Recruit will PIR 1/14/2011 is going to be there.....YAYYYYYYYYY.

Congratulations to all the new sailors from last night's BS!!!  One more night to go. . . Hang in there Moms!  It will all go well.

Congratulations to you too Lori and  all! @ Stewfam THANK YOU...I can't wait to see all the red in the stands either, hope it worked ;) Can't say I didn't try ;o)!! My SR said the last 2 divisions go tonight, but didn't know the number. "E" sounded very tired, sick, and he said he really couldn't wait to go to bed tonight! He did say someone got hurt...slammed a finger in something and lost a nail furing BS :( SO SORRY if that is your SR!!!  I just can't wait to hug him!

I'm going to bed early tonight...up on the road by 6am. I didn't sleep at all last night either! See all you PIR 12/17-ers tomorrow night!!! ;)

My husband was planning to wear his suit to the PIR but I was told it's more dressy casual? Does anyone know?

"Congratulations" to all you mom's who got the phone call! I didn't get one. Her boyfriend got it and she told him to message me that she couldn't wait to see me. But nothing about being a "Sailor"! Finally figured out that YES in deed she passed, after reading the message he sent about her talking about passing her Battlestations and then me reading enough to figure out passing your Battlestations means you passed or at least I hope so!! Either way we are flying out tomorrow!

@Tanya...What I have heard and read its dressy casual...but most definitely RED on top :) or some sort of red! :)! Some I heard are wearing jeans. Just dress warm!!!

Got my call "I am a Sailor"

I am oh so proud.  Great Lakes here we come.

Oh, Kate, I'm sorry, we flew in through Milwaukee.  Our drive from there was great.  We arrived in rush hour and it only took about 40 minutes to get to the Residence Inn

Oh wow, Susan, please stay safe.  You aren't that far now!

We have so many new sailors today.  Woohoo!  Congratulations to all our new sailor moms and our new sailors. I can't wait to meet you all.  I'm here in IL now and can't wait for Friday..  I was crying on the way to the airport today, I guess it's all becoming so real now.

I got my call at about 2:00. Just finishing up packing and going to take a nap. We leave for the airport at 2am. See you all tomorrow. Safe travels everyone!

lukesgirl...my son also is getting an award!  You can check out the names on the web site http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/honor_grads.asp. Our letter said to report to the visitors station by 7:15 and we would be escorted to our seats. It mentions 3 guests though...I'm hoping that means myself and my other 3 guests.  I hope one of us doesn't have to sit alone.  Anyone else know?  I am SO proud, I could bust :-)

Congrats to all the new sailors...please drive safely and carefully...it is icy and awful in many part of KY, MO, and IL tonight so be vigiliant....

It's 6:00A in Michigan and I'm getting ready to drive to Great Lakes - the tears have started - didn't think I had any left in me.  I can't wait to see everyone tonight!  Travel Safe Everyone ((Hugs))

I am chillin at our hotel with my new sailor.  DIvision 020 won Hall of Fame.  I couldn't be more proud,  Will have pictures posted on Sunday.
