  • Ship 02/Div 910 AggieNavyWife

My husband is in ship 02 div 910, but I haven't heard ANYTHING about his PIR... Any thoughts???
  • jewel

Aggie Wife, div 904 and 905 PIR 12/17 and div 906 PIR 12/22, so I guess div 910 would PIR 01/28. But I really don't know. Look on the boot camp website and elsewhere on N4M.
  • Wendi, CTR mom

Tysmom I am so with you on that...Need to make hotel reservations next week after payday. It is going to fly now.
  • Aggie08Mom (ship 02,div. 903)

AggieNavyWife, I just noticed your name. Are we talking Texas A&M Aggie wife? If so, we need to talk. My son just graduated from A&M in Dec. 09, but is officially class of 08.
  • bls23ship 02 div 910

recruiter called me today with my daughters information. she is ship 02 div 910. has anyone received their letter yet?
  • Ship 02/Div 910 AggieNavyWife

Oh my, bls23, my husband is in the same ship and division!!!! I haven't gotten the letter yet. Have you?
  • bls23ship 02 div 910

AggieNavyWife, I haven't received the letter yet, i did send out three letters to her yesterday. i also went out and got alot of cards to send her. husband hates writing but will send cards with notes in them. let me know when you get yours. i felt so much better once i got the address. i can't wait until i hear from her. keep in touch
  • Ship 02/Div 910 AggieNavyWife

Labmom, I think you're SO right... I will feel SO much better once I get "the letter". I didn't expect to get the box first and then have to wait on the letter. I thought it was going to be the other way around. Thanks for letting me know it might be a bit. Perhaps I won't be running to the post box like an excited puppy now :-)

bls23, I have sent a letter a day since he left and 2 cards on Thanksgiving. I DID feel SO much better once I got the address! It was sort of like one little piece I could connect with. I can't WAIT to get the letter and at least know a date for PIR. Ugh! We CAN do this!!!!
  • jewel

The first 3 weeks are the hardest, I've been told. So be prepared to receive a really hard to read letter. It will get better. My daughter has a PIR of 12/17/10. The junior 900 divisions usually get to perform at the 2 PIRs directly preceding their own, so we have a chance to see our SRs in photos of earlier PIRs. My daughter was in a photo of PIR 11/24/10. These photos are on the RTC facebook page.
  • DawnMomOfSR Ship 02-Div 909

Jewel, What is the name or a link to the RTC's facbook page? The only one I found that seems to be official it does not have any pictures on it. Thanks!
  • TysMomKY

From someone that just went through "the letter" stage I can tell you that I was so relieved when I got the form letter. I felt like I put him on a plane and he just disappeared until I actually saw something tangible with his writing on it. Then when the "box" came it was so emotional. We are now 16 days away from seeing our sailors graduate and so excited about just the thought of it! Keep your heads up and write, write, write! Your sailors will appreciate it more than you know! God bless you all!

CodesMom, it is U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command. They post lots of pictures of events on base and also photos that people send them. They are also very helpful with answering questions. It is run by the public affairs office.
  • jewel

It is 25 degrees and light snow in Great Lakes right now.
  • Wendi, CTR mom

Any of you moms in 904 have a daughter with last name S and I think first name S from Michigan?
  • bls23ship 02 div 910

Anyone have a daughter in ship 02 div 910? We just heard from our daughter and she is gonna be caring one of the flags.
  • Kate-Ship 12/Div 039

HI bls23, do you have a Facebook account. My daughter is ship 02 div 904, PIR 12/17/2010. I found pics of her in two of the graduation that is posted on the site of U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command. Go to the pics and look through Graduations 11/24 and 12/3. Your daughter may be in those.
  • Ship 02/Div 910 AggieNavyWife

bls23, my husband is in ship 02 division 910... He's carrying a flag as well!!!!!! He's the guidon (?????)... Front right and kinda "guides" the division on where to go.
  • Dodie

  • Ship 02/Div 910 AggieNavyWife

  • TysMomKY

Hi Labmom, my son is headed to the same place for the same job! He'll get there on 12/22. And yes, we are getting excited. Div 904 graduates on 12/17 and I will be there to see my sailor! Stay in touch. We still have to get through school! LOL
  • TysMomKY

I haven't joined that group yet, Labmom39. I'm having a hard time keeping up with the three groups that I am in right now. I guess I was waiting until he got out of one before switching to the other. LOL
Kate-T&P my son is on the same ship and division number! Message me!
  • Dodie

Labmom, My son leaves for Goose Creek on Tues. There are 30 nukes in his div. His rate willbe EM.
  • TysMomKY

Sorry, Labmom, my son's rate will be MM. I must have read something wrong. Too many messages I guess. LOL (Again the reason I have not joined another group yet.)
  • TamiD-ship02div904-12/17

I think the wait from here til graduation is harder than the last few weeks we have already been through. I keep going over the details of the roadtrip, making sure hotel reservations are all set and most of all I have become OBSESSED with the weather channel!!! Only 11 days....it just can't get here soon enough.
  • TysMomKY

Tamidrakeship, I feel the exact same way! It's harder now than ever!

In reading all these remarks just reminds me back on March 12th when I was able to be there for my grandson's graduation. It was the most wonderful thing I ever did in my life... I had cried for weeks after he left, a couple weeks before his graduation my daughter says, dry up your tears, get well for you are going whether you are well or not... we are going to see Curtis graduate... well my nights turned to days and I begin to feel better, getting ready for this trip from Georgia... It has been a journey... He got to come home in August and again. Just looking forward for him to be here Sunday week. He is my life and it has been so hard... I know it is hard on each of you parents too. But as I was, you are going to be so proud when you see him. He wore contacts when he left so he was wearing what they call those birth control glasses when we saw him.. funny, big and thick framed black glasses. But after graduation my daughter took his contacts to him and they allowed him to wear after the boot camp... Take pictures, buy the movie they make if you can. He was the leader of the band and came in one one side, we got pictures of him with our camera's but it was awesome the picture they got as he came in leading the band. Good luck to all you parents that are making the trip up there especially in the cold weather.. The snow had just stopped when we got there and I don't believe they had any more snow. It was almost spring time.. but I have been to Chicago in the December and it was always cold and snowing. So wrap accordingly. My grandson is still in school in San Diego and that is a long way from Georgia... he will be there till next June or so. He has met him a very nice girl and he is now engaged... wow, they grow up fast. He is coming home for Christmas and the day after Christmas she is following him on here to meet his parents. She is from Austin TX., a sailor too. God bless all of you as you continue the journey with your soldier. there are a lot of us on facebook... you will find me under Arlene Robinson Murrell. please join and be my friend... Lots of military mom's and we all share the same feelings, thoughts etc. Love you all... and Thank you all for the sacrifice that you all are making to help keep our country safe... My grand-daughter is just finishing up her 2nd year and from her Navy A school she came home for a few days and went immediately to her ship that was in the mid-east... they got back a year ago Oct 18th and she is in Norfolk, and hopefully will not have to leave out real soon again. Another Grandson in the US Coast Guards is at sea now. This is 3 grandchildren out of my 17... and there probably are still more that will join some branch... one graduated last year thinking about joining the army... oh me... it is heart breaking but yet it makes you so proud.
  • TysMomKY

Awwww, thanks for sharing arlene40. What a great message!
  • TamiD-ship02div904-12/17

well tysmom.....that will be everyone in the room!!! :D
  • TysMomKY

Got my ribbons for graduation and another letter from my recruit today! I'm a happy momma!

EXACTLY Tamidrake! I hope I get to meet everyone! :D
  • arlene40

I wish I could remember the spot but when my grandson was there, I just kept searching everything and I ran across the Battleship. A video that tells you all about it and it also somewhere told when he his ship would be going through the battleship. It all is within the last week of graduation. but search for Navy Battleship and see if you can find the information. He called a few days before and told us when he was going into it but he was not exactly right either but I believe the schedule was as I had read etc.. Good luck to all of your sailors. I was so proud and I know you will be the same. It is wonderful... We really owe our service men and women lots of love and respect for they are sacrificing lots to help keep our country safe... They come out of boot camp young men... I am so proud of my three that are now serving.. God bless all our sailors and other military men and women what ever branch they are serving in... My thoughts and prayers are with you always.
  • Mom-to sailor-Alli_Div950-10/29

it is called battle stations 21. If you google it you will find a CNN video news report. There are other things out there about it, but the recruits are sworn to secrecy about it ... It looks amazing!
  • Wendi, CTR mom

just got 4 letters and 2 copies of the power of attorney, and the DEERS form.  had no idea ship02 div909 USED TO BE ship 06 div 909 up to a couple months ago. i freaked out thinking they put him in another ship and he'd not get the letters i sent, til i called boot camp office to check it out.  but i finally heard from him - such a big change from letter #1 ("dear honey, BOOT CAMP SUCKS!!!!") to letter #4 ("i think i'm getting up the confidence to do all this stuff.  i know how to make a bed now" - lol!).

  • TamiD-ship02div904-12/17

navy wife that is funny....what a difference a few letters make!!  My son told me the first phone call that he wanted to break his own legs so they would send him home!!!!....Now he LOVES is and is PIR 12/17.....so it does get better...hang in there and support him the best you can and write, write, write....it builds them up more than you will ever realize.

  • TamiD-ship02div904-12/17

ok division 904 moms/wives/significant others....battlestations for our group tomorrow!!!! Lets get out those blue candles and pray, pray, pray......they have done incredible so far, lets hope they can finish it off with the same intensity.  GO 904!!!

We're 5 days and a wake up from seeing our sailors!

  • jfarm ship02div904

I'm so proud of 904!! They are an awesome division! Of course, I may be biased.

When I talked to my son he was so proud of how well all of them have been doing.

So you can tell them their RCPO is proud of them, too! It has been so good to hear the pride in his voice, he's never really acted that way before, and I know he has made friendships that will last for years to come.
