Also, is anyone currently doing the 900 FB page I have not been accepted yet and I see a few others havent been either.

  • cab1213

My daughter's on Ship 02  DIV 901 also Lisa.  We got the form letter last Friday with her mailing address, and she got a quick (about 2 min) call last Thursday evening.

  • PuddlePirate

Div 948 is a hall of fame platoon! They've earned all of their flags, passed their inspections, and are generally "killin' it." They finish up firefighting today, have BS, captain's cup, one more rehearsal, and then graduation. My SR said next week is pretty easy and he hopes to go to recruit heaven. Only problem is their patches came and their chief said she had some bad news. They might not be getting their DEP advancement because of the training time out someone called during the first PFA, which is the one that's suppose to count for advancement to E2..
  • BAMA NAVY MOM

WOW puddlepirate (love your handle) that division has really done well.  Congrats!!!  My daughter trained with them, she said that division on the other one right before them really helped and gave them alot of helpful tips for doing everything.....hope they are that lucky.

  • greenoak

Emmiesgram, the 900 div is already in the hall when the rest march in, they are flag duty or band or drill or helpers so they are already there, male sure to check pics from the two previous grads as your grandaughter may be in them.

  • Michelle

Watched the streamlive yesterday on Div949 staff on the graduation, some how it made me feel closer to my son. I haven't heard from him in a while but I know he doing well. God Bless all
  • Washingtonmom

Where do you find pictures to look for 949 that assisted yesterday's
    Graduation?
  • Renea-vy mama

Puddle-pirate-- That was so awesome to hear about division 948! My son is in that division. I watched the video, and got to see him marching with his trombone!! I was thrilled!! I am excited beyond words about seeing him on Friday!
  • Terrii

My son is in Div 903. We have not received the letter yet but his recruiter gave us his address the day after he left. I am glad he is in a 900 division, but I am wondering what other reasons they may have had for chosing him. He does not play an instrument, or sing, and has not been on an kind of drill team or ROTC. He does walk/stand very straight just naturally, played sports and is 6' tall. He did score high on the ASVAB. Not sure if any of that matters, but it is the only thing I can think of. Any thoughts?
  • BAMA NAVY MOM

Unless they did not have enough and he looked the part or perhaps tried out for it.  Congratulations in any sense it is an honor for them to be chosen to do this.

  • Gavinsmom

Terrill my son was the same any. It's because he scored so high on ASVAB any other questions just ask
  • ScottsMom ship 02 DIV 949

My son did not play and instrument, do chorus, or play sports. He did score well on his ASVABS and is 6 foot. From what Ive been told these things get them in to 900s but I could be wrong

  • Sherri357

My son is on Ship 02 Div 950. He does not play any instrument but did score well on his ASVABS. He will be attending A school in Great Lakes.

  • SeaWolfette

My daughter is on Ship 02 Div 950 and said she was placed with the state flag group b/c of her test scores.

  • Terrii

Thanks all!  I appreciate your help!

  • BAMA NAVY MOM

Anyone else by chance hear from 950 besides letters last week?

  • RNmom

Just received a wonderful letter from my SR today 02/950  said that the DIV is doing good and has passed all tests and inspections so far.  It was an upbeat, happy letter  even said he is "really starting to like boot camp"  much needed letter and one happy mom :)

  • sonia

    Any 902 moms here?

  • Michelle

One more week until we leave for IL.  I can not wait to see my son.  He will be leaving that night for Pensacola Florida, any suggestion for mom, dad, sister and brother to do or bring.

  • Michelle

Does anyone have pictures of last weeks graduation 10/04, div 949 was staff or something having to do with the graduation. Maybe out side marching or something.  I am just so ready to see my SR. He left August 20.

  • nvyship02div952

  • Tina

    Hi moms! I'm confused...but thrilled!
Just got my sons letter, it comes as a HUGE surprise to see he is in Div 903....I have no clue why, but I'm thrilled!
Is there anyone else who is in this Div?
He is not a musician or a singer (in public), and has no previous drill experience...I thought he would end up in an 800 div b/c of his rating...thus my confusion. But either way, THRILLED and PROUD!! :o)

  • Terrii

Hi Tina! My son is on Ship 2 Div 903. He has none of those qualifications either. From what I have been told, it could be because of their good scores on ASVAB. Proud moms we are!
  • Aaronsmom06 ship02 div903

Hi!! Me too excited proud and confused too my son is ship 02 div 903. Asvab makes sense he did score well. Nice to be here this is so exciting
  • 21anne

I haven't received the letter yet, but the Recruiter told me that my son was in division 903.  I was very excited because from what I have read, they will be working at the PIR on 11/15 and 11/22 as well as their own!  This means there is a very slight chance that we could catch a glimpse of our Sailors on the live web cam!!!

  • Tina

Terrii, Aaronsmam06, 21anne.....Congratulations!! this should be a fun ride!!!
more to learn now! :0) 21anne, I hope you get your letter today!

    Navy Strong Moms!

    Have a great day!!!!
  • Tina

question for our veteran moms...love the patch as our group profile pick....but, is there one for ship staff & honor guard, and is there one for Sticks? or just MUs

    ~Thanks!!!!! :o)
  • GGCmom

Got 2 letters from my SR today! He said boot camp is not bad....the school-type work isn't hard, and the physical training isn't hard. He said it is all mental, which is stressful. He's counting the days too!
  • Terrii

Just got off the phone with my SR. He sounds wonderful! We got to talk for 43 minutes! I am so much happier now than I was an hour ago!!! A fellow from a nearby town that swore in with him is in his division so that makes it even a little better for him :) His goal was to be "invisible" during boot camp and one of his RDC's just asked him when he came into the division...lol. He has been there since the beginning! He is doing a good job of flying under the radar ;) I am one happy mama! They start their week 1-1 this Tuesday. Ship 2 div 903 He is a "Stick" so now I have to find out about that :)
  • Tina

got a call from my son.....been a little while now, but STILL on cloud 9!!
he sounded GREAT!!! was pissed they got a Hit already...said not everyone is taking this serious and costing them...said PT is going to be extra special next week b/c of it....other than that he's loving it! said they are eating GREAT, but sleeping not so much! ;0) He sounded positive and motivated, and proud! I AM SO PROUD OF MY BOY!!! i hope the rest of you get calls too!!

Oh, Aaronsmom...our boys know each other! :0)
  • HuffyMom23

Does anyone on here have a son on Ship 2 / Division 952?  I was just wondering if anyone has heard from their son this week and know how they are doing with their inspections.  After talking with my son a week ago, I couldn't get a good feel from our conversation on how the whole division was coming together.  I have total faith in him on everything he does.  He seems very worried though about failing an inspection and getting bumped back because of it.  He so wants to be done with bootcamp and move on.  He takes after me though when it comes to worrying about every little thing.

I really hope he is making friends, but I feel like he is just keeping to himself.  I hear some mothers say how their kids are making new friends which is exciting.  That would be me totally.  My son on the other hand is fine with just taking care of himself.  Thankfully he has always gotten along with everyone and is very kind and respectful.  Don't get me wrong though, he will totally be there to support the division.  He is taking this very seriously and has a hard time with the kids who aren't.  He was not one to get in trouble all thru high school, so he isn't used to being yelled at.  I tried to practice on him during the summer, but he just laughed at me.  lol  I miss that boy but I am so proud of him.  My heart gets sad though knowing that after PIR, we will have to tell him goodbye again. :(

  • nvyship02div952

Huffymom23 hi my boyfriend is in that division he said last week that we wont be heartijg from then until after battle stations. he didnt say he was worried about being set back but did say the division has a listening problem and they get ITd alot. I hope they pull it together
  • HuffyMom23

Thanks nvyship02div952.  My son did tell me we wouldn't hear from them by phone call for awhile.  That is pretty much the same thing he has been saying about their division.  I really hope they pull together and become an awesome group.  It would be nice to see them be recognized for something.  Well one thing if they are getting ITd a lot, they should all be buff by graduation! lol

  • nvyship02div952

Huffymom23 lol in his letter he said he woild be strong when I see him because of all the IT lol. you would think that theyd get tired of getting yelled at and the IT but obviously not if they continue not listening. I just try to write him positive things and hopefully he shares them with his division. The big test will be BS21 because they are forced to work together and if they dont they could possibly fail
  • HuffyMom23

Well I really wish the ones that don't want to listen this far into BC would just be sent elsewhere.  I just don't understand it.  I think I would be scared enough with someone in my face or yelling at me to shut up and listen.  That is the only thing my son has said about the division.  He said there were some talkers and it was hurting them.  I hope this past week has been a turn around for the better.

  • nvyship02div952

If not then hell week willbe a wakeup call. I just keep praying for them
  • HuffyMom23

So wasn't last week hell week or is it this week?

  • GGCmom

HuffyMom23: when I talked to my SR last weekend, he said they were starting week 3 last Monday, so this week is week for, and is "hell week". From whatbive read about this week, they have fore arms training, and a really big inspection at the end of the week. From whatbis read, although they are a division and rated and tested as such, and they will all get punished for infractions, if there are those that are not where they should be, those individuals can be set back and moved into another division behind them; NOT the whole division. I share the same concerns as you do. My SR is taking bootcamp very seriously and I hate the fact that he can be punished for the actions of those not taking it seriously. I just wrote to him and asked lots of questions about all of this. I wish I could call him, or that I could anticipate a call from him, but he also said no more calls until after battle stations. Not a good day for me...really missing him today and feeling helpless!
  • nvyship02div952

Along with what ggcmom said they wake up earlier and go to bed later during hell week. I'm trying to stay positive and not think that any of our SRs will be held back at least the ones that are working hard
  • HuffyMom23

See these weeks are so confusing.  My husband and I thought this week would start week 5.  I give up. lol  My son told us on his last call, but he is trying to tell us about so many things that I forget.  I also hate when a group gets punished for individuals acting up, but I swear that seems to be the theme with so many things in life.  Same thing happens to them in sports.  I have never understood it.  I know we are so worried about them, but they will be just fine.  As long as they are taking this serious I feel they will be the ones to succeed.  I miss my son a bunch too.  This not being able to talk to them is hard after we got to do it last week.  I keep telling myself that once this is all over, they are trained, and working their jobs, they will be able to tell stories about bootcamp and maybe laugh about them.

  • Michelle

My son is in Div 949 and they have been a part of the last two PIR ceremony. His job was door guard outside so I never saw him on the last two Graduation ceremony. Does this mean that he will be outside the building as door guard when his Div 949 have there graduation ceremony on Oct 18. I would think that he would be inside with the rest of the graduating Sailors.
  • HuffyMom23

Michelle, I don't know for sure because my son doesn't graduate until 11-8, but I just figure they do that for the 2 ceremonies before and then someone else does it at their ceremony.  I think he should be in with the rest of his division.  But I could be wrong.

  • 21anne

Michelle, I am positive he will be inside for his graduation.

  • Mo'smom (ship 2 div 943)

Michelle...he will perform in the 2 PIRS prior to his and he will be in the same place for his as well. He is considered Staff.
  • Michelle

well inside or out Ill just be happy to see him in uniform. thank all of you for your advise.  so does anyone know if they went to there battle station today that would be div 949

  • Michelle

Yeah my son is a SAILOR
  • Tina

    congratulations Michelle!!! :o)
  • greenoak

Congrats Michelle to you and your son x

  • 21anne
