Kelley is right, my son was also at the McHenry Masonic Logde for Christmas and I still have not seen any pictures, but I can wait 9 more days to see him :)
Thank You Theresa for posting that link for the Elks Lodge. I was trying to find pictures but I couldn't find it on my own. My sons picture is in there several times! It was wonderful!
Theresa...Thank You for finding those pictures of the recruits...What a wonderful treat !! The tears streamed down my face as I saw the police escort they gave our recruits buses as they arrived at the Elks Lodge...I have such gratitude for the Respect and Love they were given by so many amazing people.. There was a great picture of my son with a big smile on his face that brought me such joy..
I saw my sailor on Christmas. I hope we did not bore her too much. I cooked her favorite things, foods she missed at Thanksgiving, and heated them up. We stayed at the hotel and talked. Since most everything was closed on Christmas Day, we did not plan to go anywhere. It was wonderful for my husband and me. My husband said he is not worried about her anymore after we talked and saw how she was doing. She has grown up over these past several weeks, and I am proud of her and proud of the Navy!!!!!!!!!!! HOOOOOYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ladies just think, a week from today most of us will be getting on airplanes, buses, trains or in cars and making our way to Great Lakes, IL. Can you believe it! A few short weeks ago it seemed like this time was so far away and wouldn't get here fast enough. Now it seems like we're rushing to get packed and finish our last minute things before we need to go. What a great feeling! I can only imagine how our Recruits feel now, knowing Boot Camp is almost over. I have been watching my weather forecast and also Great Lakes and so far it looks good for next week. I am praying for good weather and safe travels for all of us as we journey to see the U.S. Navy's newest Sailors! HOOYAH!!!!!

I got 3 letters yesterday! The most recent was dated 12/26. He didnt mention BS or Captians Cup but he said they will stop receiving mail on Wednesday (yesterday) and to not bother writing. I sent his contacts on Tues, I really hope he got them in time!!

Got a phone call from my husband when I was at work. His phone card ran out of $$ but luckily his bunk mate was kind enough to let him use his card. He said that they had Captain's Cup today and they got 3rd but won the chant trophy. I believe he said it was div. 907 that got 1st. They are working hard to prepare for Battle Stations on Monday. I can't wait for the "I'm a Sailor" phone call!!!! Happy New Year to everyone! One more week to go!!!!

Finally checking in .... put my Sailor on the plane back to base this morning. sad day for me... but glad he is pumped and ready to get back to work finishing RSS! We celebrated our birthdays last night at a nice restaurant... he wore his blues for me.... here is a picture of him and my daughter! Wooooow this time next week.... some will be with their Sailors and some of the Sailors will have flown on to their new destinations. My Jans son R will be right there with my son! He is excited to be with his best friend once again... well at least on the same base.!!! Im reading about Captains Cup and BS.. trying to catch up with everyone! I remember the week before for me... I was a basket case... Im excited for yall! MnG will be a blast! hooooooooyaaaaaaaaaaaaa - hey pat your selves on the back -- You have all but made it to the end of this Part One of the Roller Coaster Ride! Hey all...I just read where the recruits aren't allowed anymore mail as of this past Wednesday. Does that mean they aren't writing to us either? I didn't get anything today and usually get something every Thursday (and one Friday after Christmas). I don't know when he'll do Battle Stations as he is in div 802. Could it be as early as the beginning of next week? Yikes!!
