Can't wait until tomorrow, got a red coat at Costco so I will be really be wearing red! Vinnys mom so sorry, but he will still be there to hug. Div. 802 must be tonight, saying a prayer for all those going tonight, congrats to all the new Sailors!!

Salma, I sent you a message on your friend page,

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Julie - They will let him retry.  They want them to pass.  Now I too would call Public Affairs because my understanding from the past is that they will let them re-try but that they roll them back to a different Battlestations and PIR.  NOW dont quote me on that.  They can do ANYTHING that is just what I understood from PIRs in the past.  JessicaB, Diannep, have yall any insite for her on this.
  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

So......I got the call last night, that my daughter too will be in the bleachers. I'm not sure of why....no explanations, but it probably had something to do with the swimming. I will still get to see her (I believe).!!!!!! All she said was "make sure I have the gate pass. I'm.....so sad,but at least I know.
  • ericsmom (ship12 div033)

Does that mean she isnt graduating?  Why bleachers??
  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

Not sure....but I'm assuming they get to watch the ceremony. But not participate in the marching in part.
  • ericsmom (ship12 div033)

sorry, still dont get it?  Did she not pass BS??? what happened?  are you going???
  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

I'm not even sure if she went through the BS cause she called around 9pm.but....I will still be going to the PIR because she told me that she will be in the bleachers and I will see her. I still have ques....however I will contact public affairs
  • BADma

Good Morning All...finally decided to drag up outta bed...not like I could sleep anyways...

Jan...that's funny!! Maybe subliminally you were never planning to go home...ha ha!! I know I'm ot gonna want to leave my boy ):.

    Waiting on phones.....

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Pecious - If she did not participate in BS and or did not pass it... she will not PIR.  They will roll her back to a different Division and she will go through it again.  If she failed her PFA they might let her retry such as Julies boy.  There is a possibility that she will not be in the PIR group now.  You need to try to see if you can get some answers before you head to GL.   Diannep or JessicaB -- do you have any insite into this situation???
  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

Ok......thanks Lydia!! I got some answers by talking to Public Affairs. My phone will be in my bra!!!!!!!
  • NavymomGG

May those who have unanswered questions get a swift and happy resolution and I wish you all a safe, healthy, happy, Love filled journey...Thank You for all the Support, Love and Guidance !!! Bravo Zulu to ALL.....xoxoxoxo
  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Precious....  please share with us what Public Affairs told you in case we have others today that wind up with these questions??
  • Kimber Ship 12 DIV 035

  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

Public affairs....advised me on what she didn't pass and that she will get the opportunity to try again thurs nite. She will be at PIR in the bleachers standing at attention during the ceremony because there not allowed to sleep for sometime. I believe he said that she will get a 2 hour liberty for Friday.
  • Sugarscoop (ship 12 Div 038)

Headed to AIRPORT!!!!!!!   See you all soon!!!!

  • Vinny's Mom

    (Ship 12 Div 037)

PreciousMom:I'm sorry to read about your daughter. My son will be in the bleachers too.

Does anybody know if there is a way for me to find out if he passed before the ceremony? They finish BS at 8am on Friday. So stressed out!

Cell phone is currently on the charger~feels kinda strange not to feel it in my bra~I put it on the left side, close to my heart.

Safe Travel to those leaving today.

  • diannep

VinnysMom: There is always a chance that he can call you before the ceremony...but I wouldn't count on it.  Just trust that he will BE THERE.  Can't wait to see your post after PIR about your very special reunion with your son, with all of this stress at the end.  Make sure when you meet his RDC's that you have your cell in the bra...they will be looking for that since you have now informed them when on speaker phone with your son that N4Ms carry them there!  Still makes me giggle picturing the RDCs faces as you were announcing this to your son on the phone...not knowing you were on speaker!  HA!
  • diannep

Precious Mom: I'm going to private message you about this. I have some questions.  Then I can post on here for anyone else in a similar situation.
  • Vinny's Mom

    Thanks diannep

My sweetie is retired Air Force. Last night when I was at his house I told him about the phone call with Vinny~when I got to the part about telling Vinny my phone was in my bra he started laughing out of control...I didn't even get to the part about being on speaker phone...he KNEW!

I'll be sure to give his RDC a run for his money when we meet!

Got to keep a sense of humor despite the stress. I will go to Great Lakes to be present during the PIR & stand tall knowing my son will become a United States Sailor~

  • diannep

    AMEN, Vinnys Mom!
  • navymom4e (ship12 div038)

It is going to be a long day waiting for the phone call!  My stomach has been in knots all night!  To everyone who did BS last night...... praying for the phone calls for all of us today!

Can't believe the countdown clock...never thought it would say 1 day!!!

  • Kimber Ship 12 DIV 035

......... GOOD VIBES........ have the phone ready after noon time! :)
  • BADma

     Bonnie...will do.

I've been in uber prayer mode since 815 last night...now staring at my phones!!

  • Vinny's Mom

    (ship 12 div 037)

Bonnie: if I get a call today I will ask about 802 and post.

I'm off to the church to pick up the St. Christopher/navy medal I ordered Vinny...our priest drove 4+ hrs yesterday to get it for me.

To all those awaiting a call...deep breaths... they are much more tense than we are!

  • Julie- (CVN 69 IKE)

Called Public Affairs about "D" and feel better now. He did fail for his run for his PFA. Poor kid broke his leg doing PT with the recruiters during DEP and was just released Oct 6th before they left (almost didnt get to go because of it) evidently his leg has been causing him some issues. They advised me that he would be trying again today and that since he failed by such a small amount they were expecting him to pass today, complete battlestations and be back on track. Even still he wont be marching friday either way. I feel a little better knowing what happened but now feel bad for him because he was so frustrated by his leg to begin with. I was told I would get to see him friday for at least a couple of hours if he didnt pass but that they were very optimistic for him.
  • Kimber Ship 12 DIV 035

Julie, Vinni's mom and Precious Mom,

((((HUGS))). I love your strength and ability to stay positive through this. we are all pulling for your kids successful runs today!!

  • Lydia (For B - The Sea is Ours)

Woooow - so much going on !  This is normal with each PIR there are the last minute hiccups.  Yall have GREAT attitudes about it all!  Godspeed to those re-testing and God Bless the SWCC boy - Hoorah for Public Affairs for being so helpful with all of yall!!!

LOVE THE CELL in the bra at PIR (meeting the RDCs)  hahahahahah!!!!

  • PreciousMom (Ship 12 Div 038)

Thx...everyone for the support....Vinnymom,thanks and maybe they will be beside each other. I'm just happy to just see my childs face. I'm still a proud mom cause everyone can't jjoin the Navy.....and everyone isn't brave enough to stick it out because I know they have to go through a lot. So as I stand here with my cellphone next to my heart.....I am the proudest momma in the world.
  • AED's Mom (Ship 02 Div 907)

I just got the "I'M A SAILOR" call, no she didn't say that, but  she did say the everyone passed.   She sounded very tired, said she can't march straight when she's this tired. She can't go to sleep untill 8 tonight.

I'm  so proud of her and of all the other new SAILORS.  .

  • BADma

Vinnys mom and Precious...my boy said that (what he understands) is that if recruits hafta go through BS a second time and pass that they still graduate with their division...they just don't participate in the ceremony.

  • BADma

      Bonnie...congratulations to you,too!!
  • BADma

Holy schnikey!!!  WHERE did ya find that?
  • rickysmom0403(ship 12 div 034)

  • julied (Ship 03 Div 234)

907 has completed Battle Stations!!! Got the call. My daughter is a Sailor!!!! Bravo Zulu!!!!!
  • BADma

     I can exhale now!!!

Hoping that ALL 907 moms get 'I'm a sailor' calls.

  • diannep

Arwen had posted some statistics in the last couple of days of the chances of those getting into the Navy between the ages of 18-24.  She said that only 22 percent of that age group is qualified ---no arrests, physically capable and educationally qualified.  Out of those, less than 1/2 will have the ASVAB scores to get in.  So now they are in the top 10 percent of their age group. And out of those, not all make it through bootcamp...which means that those who graduate are in the top 8 percent.  So everyone here has alot to be proud of!

PreciousMom:  Hoping that she can make up whatever she didn't pass and go through BattleStations tomororw night with the next PIR group.  You have every reason to be so proud of her!  Praying that she is sitting in that balcony, in her dress blues, on Friday...and that you can see her face and hug her!

  • diannep

Congrats on the I'm a Sailor calls coming in!
