ProudNavyWife: Doubtful that they can miss any A School to help with moving. Now, when they are 'phased up' at A School and get overnights on weekends, they could help then. But they have to stay within a certain radius from the base.
I need a call for guest list -- one of his originals couldn't make it and we still don't know if he actually changed the list to reflect the 4th person planning on coming!
I think it is actually Div 919. And wondering if Div 111 was the other WINNER rather than 2nd place? There are 2 winners...one for the all-male division and one for the integrated (male/female) division for Captains Cup.
We asked him to change it right after we got the original list -- he just never told us who he actually changed it to. Hopefully he didn't want someone else to come who we never knew to invite! :p The man needs to learn to communicate.
That wold be nice..most of my calls have lasted at 20 minutes. I am just looking forward to that call tomorrow. These last few days have made me miss him like crazy
Does anyone have any idea of when we might be getting more phone calls? I already informed my professors that if I walk out of class talking on my phone its because my sailor is calling and they are completely fine with it :)!
My call lasted for about 30 minutes after battlestations. My sailor said the chief that was around for the call didn't like them being on the phone long so I guess it just depends on your PO's and chiefs. He originally told them they were only getting 10 minutes!
Good morning everyone!
My call was about the same 30 minutes. He said the same thing that the Chief didn't want them on the phone long.
Did we find out for sure about CC?
Almost there guys! Tomorrow is my last day of work before PIR! Lol I'm so giddy!
I am already packing. Lol what are you all bringing your sailors for a school? I got him a cool black backpack and clothes at the nex in San Diego. It was so awesome! I even saw a sub!
I'm surprised that no one got a call from the winners of Captains Cup? I know that Leanne got info from her daughter...but we don't know who the 2nd winner was for sure, right? Maybe a call will come in today or tomorrow. Those who get the "I'm a Sailor" calls tomorrow can ask then.
I got a whole hour with my Sailor! I guess it just depends on when they're able to get to the phones cause they were allowed to go into the NEX for treats. Some will go inside and it might take longer to get to the phone. Just a thought.
I talked to my DH last night for about 3 minutes but totally forgot to ask about Captain's Cup!!
My daughter is in 919 and I didn't receive a call from her, but that would be cool if her div won. Guess I'll have to wait til tomorrows call to find out. I'm getting so excited to see her.
Via RTC Facebook Page: Congratulations to this week's Captain's Cup winners! Div. 110 won the all-male division; Div. 919 took top honors for the integrated divisions; and winning the motivational chant was Div. 114.
Captain's Cup is a friendly, fun sports competition between divisions that are set to graduate.
My daughter did Battlestations Thurs/Fri and she called me about four on Friday afternoon. Waited all day!!! Anticipation was awful. I don't wait very well!! LOL
Way to go Division 114 for Motivational Chant winner!!! Would LOVE to know just exactly what that is!! But I can sure imagine what it could be!!! Awesome!! Sounds fun;)
Raedez: You can bring them anything they want to use in the hotel room. If you are able to meet your sailor once off of RTC (at airport or after moving over to GL), they can have cell, laptop, some clothes (can't wear them yet though), etc. These in a black plain backpack or small duffel.
Jenine... thanks for the info on the Motivational Chant winner! How did you hear about this? My son is also on Ship 07 Div 114 and I'm hungry for any info! I have been thinking about him all day and praying for the whole group to have a successful night. I can hardly wait for a call tomorrow... and Friday will be heaven even if it is rain, sleet, snow! If anyone else is in this division and has any info... I'm sure all of us Navy Mom's would love to hear it! I find myself coming back to look at the webpages just to feel close to my son until I can congratulate him in person!
Proud Mom, I do the same thing...check in here all day just to see any news..I saw the post from their facebook page as soon as they posted about the winners! I'm hoping they'll post pics soon! If you have fb then go to US Navy Recruit Training Command and like their page and you'll be in the "know"!! They post some really cool pics! It's like getting a little peek into our boys lives right now seeing all the pics..even if they're not in the pic, they're in the vicinity somewhere!! haha....And I too have been quite anxious today... I'm praying for all the divisions to do well, be alert, focused and successful!
missinghim, I hope you get a call real soon! Wow, we're still so anxious and it's the last week!! Keep hanging in there...only a few more days til PIR!!
my son was in pir 3/4/11.. we only had 7 divisions but for some reason our bs ran late in our schedule. my son had battle stations on tuesday night into wednesday morning.. and one of our divisions had theirs wedneday night into thursday morning. The mothers of the later group were already in GLs and ready to go to the M&G by the time they got their calls..EEEK. was crazy. ask your sailors when they call if everyone in their division passed and post that. some get caught out of time and cant make their calls especially with a large pir group like yours. Ya'll have fun..do go to the M&G and meet the people you have been chatting with... and enjoy the end of this long ride. Much love and lots of prayers for all of you.
oh and my son pird 3/4 and shipped out at 2am the next morning from Ohare. I took a plain black back pack, with his cell and laptop, some snacks and some real underwear as he requested.lol. the backpack has to look like NAVY stuff.. son told me it could have been navy blue too. Walmart has a black one for $10. I was able to spend a few more hours with him at the airport, they let us go past security to sit with them. The uso at ohare is wonderful. I hope you each have a safe journey to GL and get all the hugs your have missed the last 8 weeks.
Thanks CrazyNavyMom and JessicaB-Sailor Mom, for all the tips and encouragement! Sure appreciate all the advice....you know what it's like trying to remember everything to pack all while waiting for "the call"....I actually did sleep last night but woke up at different times to whisper a prayer for those in battlestations!
You all check out the link I posted underneath the BattleStations schedule in the BattleStations discussion group. Will give you a better idea of what the SRs go through during BattleStations! Thanks, Craig!
Good morning!
As I finish packing my hubby his black backpack I have a quick question for the veteran moms and wives....
Do they have the option of checking this bag? Or am I better off mailing liquid things that aren't allowed like shampoo toothpaste and such?
Thanks for the help.
Wishing you all a great day....and I hope it goes by fast! Hehe
That is what I'm concerned about Amy. I don't want shampoo to spill! And what about an electric razor? He asked that I bring one for him to use Friday, but if I keep one in the package, could that be flown? I know not disposables.

I just feel like I'm so behind on everything and I have NO motivation Lol.
Yea she said hers was for the guest list, so they must just be important info calls or something.
