This group started on 2/8/11 and we survived boot camp, laughter and tears.  Now our recruits are sailors and headed in many directions, but we'll continue to support one another throughout!

    Debi, My flag took 3 weeks to arrive.  I ordered it when my SR left for BC and it came in the mail the same day as my first real letters!

    Just got back from FL to a nice letter from my son.  He told me he's the mailman and loves bringing letters to everyone because they are so happy when they get mail!  They often get up at 0430 AM! for Dive Motivation workouts.  I'm sure that makes for a long day!  It was a very upbeat letter and he says several of the guys in his division have a great sense of humor. Yay!

    PS what's this about Flags?  First I've heard.

    Less than 30 days now.  What's up with so many SR's getting their teeth pulled out.  Didn't they go to dentists regularly.  My daughter said she saw all the doctors, but nothing was said she had to get her molars pulled out.  Why are they doing this?  I'd like more info on the T-shirts, too.  Good Luck to all who have responded and are still waiting for a phone call.  Thanks for the encouragement about the lack of understanding about the tuition.  My daughter admitted in our phone call that maybe she should transfer to a cheaper State college.  We all have to make sacrifices in this economy.  I will not be going to the Meet & Greet.  I don't do bars.  Hope to see you all at graduation.  Don't forget to buy your ribbons from LaLa the PIR Ribbon Queen.

    Navymom - they do all of this dental work for a lot of reasons.  Dental work is very expensive and a lot of these kids have really not had good dental care so they need it.  The main reason that there is so much is that it is BAD news to have an impacted wisdom tooth or a bad tooth ache in the middle of the ocean!  They want to send our kids out with good teeth.

    She has a FB name called Unique Memory Makers that shows what they look like.  Her N4M name is LaLa The PIR Ribbon Queen.  She has written many comments.  Her logo is her ribbons.  The ribbons have the SR's name on one side and DIV on the other.  I ordered one for each of us going to PIR on 4/8.  It will help identify us to each other.  This way I'll be able to put people to faces.  There will be so many people at graduation.  How will we find each other?

    Good evening all, I just received a call from my son, they have moved him into RCU for 30 days.  I am just beside myself.  I have cried and cried. He only had 2 min to tell me. I didn't get a new address or nothing. I just don't understand why they couldn't give him more time to get me updated. They are putting him there for 30 days and if they can't get it better then he has to come home.  :((

    Thank you so much ntz4laa I appreciate any prayers.  I hope this rehab works for him. I know that there is a reason for all things but, I know that these guys bond together and design that flag and really get excited about graduating together and when something like this comes up, it really is a disappointment.

    Texasmom- I am very sorry to hear that. I can imagine how you feel, but try to hang in there. Be strong for your SR as I am sure he will need your support and encouragement through letters...and stay strong for yourself too! I will keep both him and you in my prayers and pray for a positive outcome.

    texasmom:  So very sorry...and praying that the rehab works and he is put back into another division after the 30 days!  In the meantime, unless he told you not to write, I would continue writing to him at the address you had and they will forward it to him.  He may call again once in RCU with another address for you if you want to wait a couple of days.  But your letters will mean more than ever now...so keep them coming with lots of encouragement!

    Texasmom, I think everyone said it for me.  Be strong for your son.  I am sure they will make every effort to rehab him so that he is up and ready in 30 days.  They got him this far, I don't think they want to lose him so easily.  Thoughts and prayers for a successful recovery.

    Sorry I wasn't here very much the past couple of days. My mom is in the hospital and I have been spending a lot of time with her during the day.

    JulieH ~ You sent out a message this morning about printing off your SRs FB page.  My SR asked for that on Monday.  Were you able to print it right out of your browser or did you have to printscreen it and paste into a Word document?  I'm having a heck of a time getting hers to print! :/
