DIVISIONS: 121-128   807, 808   920,921

This group started on 2/8/11 and we survived boot camp, laughter and tears.  Now our recruits are sailors and headed in many directions, but we'll continue to support one another throughout!

    There should be 2 divisions that won Captain's Cup.  121 would be the integrated division winner.  There will also be an all male division winner.

    When does 127 do the captains cup?  I havent heard anything about it but I do know that we are an all male division.

    I'm one proud Mama!! 807 got it!  Congrats to ALL divisions for such hard work!
    U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Congratulations to this week's Captain's Cup winners! Div. 807 took top honors the all-male division; Div. 121 won the integrated trophy, and Div. 808 won the motivational chant. Captain's Cup is a fun, friendly athletic competition between divisions that are set to graduate.

    Got a call from our SR! We were on our way to church! So happy to hear his voice! Cam't wait until Friday- Good luck to all of the future sailors that are doing BS tomorrow night!

    mamaseal:  Sometimes the Captains Cup winners do get to make calls...but not always.  Congrats to the winners today!  121 won the "intergrated(male/female)" division. 807 won the all-male...congrats to your son!

    TB:  They all did Captains Cup today...all of the divisions in this PIR group (listed up top).

    Thanks. I just sent my son an email JUST in case he gets to open it tonight! It felt weird typing his email address after all this time!!  Whether they won or not today, I'm sure it was a huge stress relief for them all.  Now for Battleships!

    Yeah my daughter posted on my facebook, too.  I know division 121 got to use computers today.  Maybe because they won captains cup??? Don't know for sure  but it was a nice surprise it makes you realize how you miss the little things :)

    No, but jajajo's daughter used a computer tonight.  My son isn't throught with Battle STATIONS ;-) yet, so he might not get computer access tonight, but it won't hurt to send an email JUST in case!

    My daughter called not once, but twice today!  Her Division won 2nd place for volleyball in the CC.  She was in a place called "Heaven"  where they got "freedom" to go somewhere in the base.  She bought a Subway Sub and was in Heaven!  She lived on those things!  There was a place where they could check e-mails and use the phone.  It sounds like the worst is over.  She has a terrible cold.  This was the first time she's been outside!  It was nice there today.  She did her 1 1/2 miles in 12 minutes.  Glad all the tests are over.  Only BS left.  She'll be ready.  Can't wait to see the woman the Navy turned her into.

     According to what people are posting their Sailors are able to use the computer and make phone calls after BS.  My daughter used the computer and got to make phone calls today.  Her division finished battlestations yesterday, captains cup today.  All the modern technology we had to connect with our girls and boys before BC is coming back...YAAYY! :)

    My son mentioned that Corpsman going to San Antonio might not get to spend time with us on Friday.  They might be shipping out on Friday.  They will get official orders on Monday.  Fingers crossed this is not true. It was so disappointing that we did not have the entire weekend. Comprimised on Saturday at airport but will be hard to comprimise with only seeing him for a few moments on Friday.

    Nursemom-

    Just got off the phone with Dustin he said same thing they only get a few hours Friday half the corpmen will ship out Friday the other half by Saturday 7 am. They need their bunks :( I suggested them stay in the hotel with us he didnt think it would fly.

    I am really sad right now.  I am really hoping that is not the case.  I am so glad I bought a webcam.  Damn, now I am going to have to spend the entire weekend with the Ex husband and Ex brother n law.  Too expensive to change flights.

    I checked the weather- it will be in the low 50's few showers, Friday and Saturday, sunny on Sunday, lows in the high 30"s. So  it is kind of like it is here in NJ

    Dustin said their are 12 corpsmen in his div not sure if he said his alone or with his brother division.

    Hmm - I wonder if only the Corpsmen in 123 got to call.....nothing from my boy today - but he did say he was going to sick bay today.  Hmmm.  He did say that everyone in their group would be gone by Saturday.  Have to get ready for the next group.

    Hi camhug, welcome!  There's a ton of information on this site and probably even a group for Florida folks, there's usually a group from each state under the group list-let me know if you don't find it.   I'm really sorry for all those who have sailors shipping right out.  Did you think  until tonight you had till Sunday with them?  If so, that's really a drag!  I hope you get some time alone with them before they leave.

    My son just said they were in "recruit heaven" got internet, phone calls, all different tyes of food, tables with all kinds of games to play. Just hanging out.

     

    We thought we got Friday and some time at the airport Saturday.

    I got a call today and he called it "Recruit Heaven" also! He said they got 2 hours and they had access to gaming systems, pool tables, internet and phones. He also said they had Subway, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. But it wasn't a reward for battlestations cuz my SR doesn't go through until tomorrow night. Still so glad they got to enjoy such a reward, they have all worked so hard to get where they are now!!!  :D
