Hi Buttercup, I hope u are fine...just want to find out how is your daughter doing? My son is still on medical hold in RCU...want him to heal soon...miss my child :(

  • Buttercup

I am so sorry it takes me awhile to respond. I cant get to this page on my phone. sure it is operator issue. My daughter is still in RCU. This week has been hard. Her letter sounds like she is getting down. She got a stomach virus and was in SIQ. I just want us to move forward. How is your son now?

  • dianemnc

My daughter hurt her ankle and was moved to this div last night, she was so upset on the phone.

Hello all!  My son went to RCU for a heel stress fracture last week.  Any idea how long those take to heal and how long he will be in RCU?  Sending lots of encouraging mail to him. His PIR was 5/23 but I don't think he'll make it.

Hello everyone, It has been a while since I visited. My son was here 2 years ago. It doesn't seem like it has been that long. I check in every so often. I am sorry to hear about your SRs. I will be praying for them and you as you travel this journey. I know how difficult it is. My son was here for nearly a year with a complete break of his fibula. It can be difficult to keep a strong voice for your kids, but with God's help and grace you and your SR will get through this and be stronger for the experience. Prayers and Hugs to everyone.

My Son is now in this division due to a fracture.  How does this process work.  He was suppose to graduate on 5/9/14.  The airline says they need some documentation.  I don't where to start.  Can someone please help me.   Thanks

Not sure but you should join the facebook page for this div, they seem to respond better to these types of questions.

My daughter just arrived to Ship 4 on Saturday due to a stress fracture in her foot.  She is bummed to be out of her division, but we are hoping for a quick recovery.  It is so hard to hear the disappointment in their voices.

  • dianemnc

You should join the facebook page for this div, they they are a very active group but this one on here is not.
  • Mloopey_Norfolk bound

Thanks, I did, but still waiting for them to accept me I guess, cause I can't see any activity on the page yet.

I joined the FB page when my daughter went into Ship 4 due to not passing her run in time for PIR 4/25.  That ship also has the SRs in RCU.  I find it very helpful. Yesterday was supposed to be my daughter's last attempt to pass but on Tuesday went into RCU due to a stress fracture in her leg.  She had left for BC on Feb 24th.  I feel so bad for her.  She wants to be a sailor so desperately but keeps having obstacles.  Now another 8 to 12 weeks to heal then one final try to pass her run.  Hoping her determination holds out.  I have you and your SRs in my thoughts.  Not an easy road... not that motherhood is anyway!

  • dianemnc

My daughter is in 2341 also and her pir was 4/25. She had stress fractures as well and is now phase 4 hopefully getting ready to pass her run. It seems like it's been a long time but she seemed to heal pretty fast.
  • KierstinsMom

It's such a roller coaster.  Hope your daughter has healed well and will pass her run quickly once she's ready to try again!

  • dianemnc

Yours too. I send your daughter a card.

My son was transferred to this Div last night (from Ship 11/Div 283) with a presumed stress fracture in his left Femur. He was pretty distraught.  He is being taken to the hospital this morning for an MRI/Bone Scan.  His PIR is Fri 9/12 and at this point, Im hoping his evaluation comes out clean so he can participate in BS and PIR next week.  If not, he will be in recovery for 1-3 weeks and skip PIR.  Please pray for my SR C.H.

  • BMHMomma

My son was moved here. Had his appendix removed Tuesday night. Will be held here for 4-5 weeks. No PIR till December.

Claudia -- I saw your post in "los hijos ..." and then noticed that you posted here as well. There is also a group specifically for FIT, and I see that it has a lot of chatting going on. Perhaps you would like to try that one too: http://navyformoms.com/group/fitprogram

Hi.I got the scripted call the night of 1/20/15. He was not allowed to make additional comments or answer questions. Yesterday, received a call from my SR, but ONLY because he was at the hospital for a small matter not related to his injury. He has a stress fracture in his heel, he will be in 2341 about 6 weeks. As soon as he can run his 1.5 mIle again, he can be placed back into a training division to finish boot camp. He was only 16 days from his original PIR date of 2/6/15. Relieved to at least have some information from him. Just wondering how this is gonna work. Hope they are not forgotten over there. Thanks for any insights into how this works.

I got a sad phone call tonight. My son has stress fractures in his ankles and can't run so he is being placed in a recovery division and wont PIR on May 8. It was like a 2 min ph call and he read a prepared statement. I didn't get to ask any questions and then he was told to get off the phone. Can anyone please explain to me what a recovery division is, will his mailing address change, how long he has to get well, will he still get to participate in a PIR? So full of questions, upset that they wouldn't let him talk, sad that my son is hurt and an emotional basket case right now. Ugh
  • Ryan's_Mom

The FB group is wonderful. If you aren't a member, you need to join. ♡
  • Kim (Proud Mom of Sailor)

My Son just arrive to RCU.  His has a stress fracture.  He was also will not PIR on May 8th.  I just received an nice long call.  I call the call with a new address.  He will have his revaluation on April 28th.  Praying for recovery.  Will keep this group's SRs in my prayers also.

  • Lilly

My son is on LLD due to an abnormal ekg after having an upper respiratory infection and being dehydrated. It breaks my heart to hear how frustrated he is sitting around waiting to be cleared by medical so he can finish up his PFA and BS.
  • Kim (Proud Mom of Sailor)

My son has been in RCU since mid-April. I just received a letter when he thinks he will be placed on FFD and be in a division.  Does that mean he will have a PIR?

  • Kim (Proud Mom of Sailor)

I am happy to report that I received a call from my son and he is done with RCU and is now with a division.  We have been praying for this - GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!  Thank you for all the support and information during this time.  You ladies are the best.  I will keep all in my prayers!!!!

  • NavyAunt

Hello everyone! I just got a call from my niece this morning. She had informed me that she just got moved to this ship due to stress fractures in her knees and ankle. She was at week 5 day 2 with her other division. She was so close to PIR (6/26). We now have to write her encouraging letters and try to keep her busy reading. She is a strong girl and will get through this!

  • mcmomma

I just got the call...my SR now graduates next Thursday!!!!  I am so happy and relieved.  Good luck to all of you and I will continue to pray for all of the SR's in limbo right now.

  • Janet

I just got word that my SR was sent to the RCU for pneumonia. He was only one week from PIR and had completed all of his physical tasks except the running and battle stations. I hope he isn't in there too long!
  • paces

Will be praying for him. I know it is hard when they are injured and sick during this most important time for them. Just keep sending him encouraging words and tell him how proud you are of him. He will be back up and running in no time.

  • Janet

Thank you and God bless you!

My daughter left for boot camp April, 7, 2015. She called me crying a few weeks ago saying she wasn't going to graduate due to an ankle fracture and they moved her to this Division 2341. She says it still hurts and that she has about three more weeks to go. She tells them everything is fine, I'm just worried that she's going to injure herself more. I hope she gets to graduate, she has worked so hard. Can anyone let me know what happens if they don't get better in a certain amount of time, I'm so worried for her...
  • paces

Is she still in RCU or has she been moved back to her unit? Many will finish bootcamp in RCU if they are not completely ready to be returned to full duty. Our son graduated and finished battle stations while he was there and then completed his physical therapy and rehab afterward. He had a complete break of his fibula. I hope all works out for your daughter. Please tell her not to rush recovery. The consequences could cost her later down the road. Will keep her in our prayers.

  • NavyAunt

My niece got moved back to a division last night!!! She will finally get the graduation she wanted.
  • Mickatee

Hi guys, we just moved into this division. He sprained his ankle falling out of his rack (giggling about this aspect, because it slows the tears). He had shipped 7/9 and they were only a few days out of their P weeks. They said possible graduation around Thanksgiving. Worried because he is worried, worried because I'm not there. I was finally ok with not being able to talk to him frequently, that's lost right now. This sucks!
  • NavyAunt

Mickatee.... You might to join the Facebook page
SHIP 4 FIT/RCU Navy BC support
They seem to be much more active on the Facebook page than here. Try it... Everyone is very supportive.
    Hope your Son heals quickly!!!
  • Mickatee

Thank you, NavyAunt! I had actually gotten to a level plane with all this, and this has put wobble in my calm (and his dad adds to the stress. Does anyone know what this does to his A school?
