Happy navy Mother’s Day!! Hope all is well? I do have a question this is my sons first deployment and was wandering if there was an app that my son can use to call us and text us so it doesn’t run up his phone bill any suggestions?

Ha!  We did just the opposite!  We shut off phone calling/texts but kept number for $10/month as we couldn't control incoming texts/calls that we didn't want to pay for probably (thinking robo/sales)!

Happy RED shirt Friday!  I've got my red on ;-D

I haven't got an email for a while, so was hoping someone would shout out a 'everything is fine' to me.  :-)  My son's bank card got compromised, so he did get to call me on the emergency line last week to take care of it. Tough for him to not have a card until I can send a new one.  Can't believe people do that stuff. These sailors are out there doing such a wonderful thing, and someone on land tries to steal from them.  Jeez.  Almost into June...yippee, a month down!!

I heard from mine.  They are fine!

Hi All!  I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend!  Ours was soggy but still got gardening done!  I haven't heard from my sailor this week since they left Crete.  Not surprising with other news I've read!  Can't believe June arrives tomorrow!

Man, I forgot how hard this deployment stuff is.  :-)  I loved the calls during port, but I've only had one email since.  Hope everyone is hanging in there. Just wanted to say hi!

I sent a package late May and he received it Friday.  You're right, Jo 4 Bama, the emails help!  Can we imagine the days when it was all hand written through the traditional mail system?  Oh boy!  Thank goodness for progress, right?

Hi all - Happy Monday!  Happy to hear your sailor's are receiving their care packages ;-D  Definitely thank goodness for modern technology and emails.  I can't imagine how it was when the only form of communication was snail mail.....I just read "Fatal Dive: Solving the WWII Mystery of the USS Grunion" and it was heartbreaking reading about the families waiting for letters from their sailors.
