Renee, I used my ribbons last year when my daughter graduated from boot camp and people at PIR kept asking where I bought it. They really stand out during graduation and they are beautiful.
I am also sorry to hear about others not passing PFA. I know it's hard as a parent but they still have a chance and they do their best to help them pass. My son was held back because of fractures and he did not graduate with his original division. Yes, it was hard when I read about the other division graduating and not being there with him during what I know was a difficult time, but he didn't give up. He only sounded down one time but stayed positive the rest of the time. I'm hoping all goes well and I will get a sailor's call today. My prayers are with your children that they will pass their PFA's.
I'm so sorry to hear about the SRs having trouble with the PFA. In the letter I received from my son last week, he said he passed his PFA. So Div 203 must have taken theirs earlier?? He did not mention anyone in his division struggling to pass the PFA, but he did say there were a few who were still struggling with drill. (Thank you marching band and Drumline!)
I pray those who are working hard to pass their PFA see their hard work pay off by meeting their goal and that they march into that drill hall Friday!!

Yes, I got the call at 1:38 pst (I'm in Los Angeles). I'm so proud of him. I kept asking him to tell me again and again and he kept saying "I'm a sailor, mom". I think I had him repeat it about seven times and then one more right before we hung up!
My son got pushed back to PIR 7/6. He said it was div 211 he was going to. Does anyone know the ship? He was in the hospital for 3 days so they pushes him back a week. My heart hurts for him. He caught an infection that made him have a 103 fever for 3 days. I'm just thankful he is better. Now I hope we can get the room for the next week.
Today I got a 44 second phone call. Then tonight he called for 10 minutes. He just want to graduate with his DIV. I can understand that. He has made friends and they became a team.

Took me like 20 calls to find this, everyone else was booked. My son just got transferred to this PIR date after being in RCU, so we only had a short time to make reservations also. One of the Marriott's did too, but they were horribly expensive. Good luck to you and your SR, and don't worry, everything will be fine!

Don't know what your plans are - or what will be going on at RTC - but if you look at the RTC site they have posted information about the 3 and 4th of July events that families can attend. It looks great. Maybe you can go a day or so early and catch all a patriotism before PIR. July 6th - great day to graduate BC. Maybe even getting the "I'm a sailor" call on Independence Day. It will work out and still be great. Stay strong.

Leftwayleft. I went through that when my son was in boot camp. I know it a very frustrating and scary feeling. All sorts of scenarios go through your head. But rest assured your recruit will be given the chance to call. My call came about ten pm the day after I found out he had been set back. Hang in there.

If a sailor fails his/her final PFA, and doesn't pass it before his/her PIR, then he/she stays in FIT PROGRAM until they do, does BattleStations, and then heads straight to A School (no PIR).
So we now know that 199/200 went through BattleStations last night, and I assume that 201/202 did too? If calls come in from either 201 or 202, then you know they both went through (brother divisions).
