Oh no Michelle, The dreaded "bleacher buns." Been there, done that! LOL!!

Appears that I will have to reschedule the Saturday morning "Meet & Greet" at the Olive Garden.

I think that I was the only one showing up at 11:00.  Since people will look at me funny if I am sitting there talking to myself, I will reschedule.  Have a great weekend everyone.

I am sorry Laura!  I was actually planning on going, Good thing I logged in this am to see what time and that it was canceled. :( I think the 11 am hour may have done it.  Besides a packing party, I have never seen us gather that early. LOL.  We are much more an afternoon and evening bunch.

So I officially have a 3rd class Petty Officer! And it looks like on Facebook that Becky posted hers is now a 2nd class Petty Officer!

Just got back from the VFW. Six in hospital, they were injured when a fireball from the explosion in the basement came up the stairway. At this point, injuries are not life-threatening. Talked to Dennis' wife, Martha, and told her to tell Dennis that when it was time to wash, clean, or paint, Molly moms would be there for them.

I know, I shouldn't volunteer you guys without your permission but these people are so wonderful, we need to help them. Just Praise God, that it wasn't worse.

VFW Update, Due to legal, insurance, and health dept. regulations, all work right now has to be done by a licensed restoration company. If the VFW needs help with the "finishing touches", they will contact us to help!

Hi, I have not been here forever but I wanted to let you know that my mom passed away yesterday so I am leaving for Florida today and will be gone for 3 or 4 weeks, talk to you when I get back.

I hope everyone is well!

Is everyone getting ready for the Villa Park VFW 4th of July parade? Actually, I'm getting a little nervous. I don't have all the detail as Dennis has been swamped dealing with the all the fire issues. I do know that the parade starts at noon and parade participants are supposed to meet at Trinity Church on Ardmore at 10:30AM. We ordered Frisbees with MAS logo and they arrived today. We would really like anyone willing to walk along the parade route and hand out the frisbees and brochures to PLEASE come and join us!

My son is still out there floating on a boat.  I hear that it is mighty warm where he is.

News of the day, the wedding between my son & his fiance is being moved up to the end of summer/fall of 2013.  Waiting for new orders before they can set a date.  So, how much weight can I lose in a year.  I need a trainer! 

@Mary, Of course, just do what you are able. (Maybe you can be in charge of the Xanax for me LOL!!!!)

Paula, I think the parade route is 2 miles. It goes through a neighborhood (like in a big square). Anyone who can't go the whole way IS JUST FINE. I'm just so happy that my sistas will be there!!

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jackie and my son's is Jacob (Jake). We are in Frankfort, IL. After a mainframe crash at MEPS last month and a lot of waiting, Jake finally got the call on Tuesday and yesterday got to pick a job and swear the oath. He leaves for Boot Camp on Sept. 26. I'm a single mom and it's been just me and Jake for a long time. I'm not sure how I am handling it, other than being proud, thrilled and terrified all at the same time. It's really nice to have a group of other mom's to turn to who know exactly what this feels like.

Hi Paula, WOW, you must be so proud and overwhelmed by your daughters bravery and dedication! I'm still learning the lingo, but Jake was given a job of Sonar Apprentice. I am still figuring out exactly what that means, but he's thrilled. That's what really matters. I'm just scared that I'm never going to see him. I would love to join you ladies for drinks, let me know the details.

Wow Paula, that is great advice, thanks! I've already learned so much on here, this is great. His recruiter is coming to the house today to answer my questions and give me the "what to expect" speech. I'm excited and have gone a little heywire with the "Proud Navy Mom" bumper stickers and T-shirts (everyone in the family got their own). thanks for all your help, I can't wait to meet you all!

Rockin' for the Troops is a fundraiser for "Operation Support Our Troops" with Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band (yes, Linda, you spelled it correctly!!) July 21 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton. It starts at noon and it is a FABULOUS time!!

Linda, I can imagine how excited you are! Jeff doesn't come home until late summer and I'm already getting excited!!

Yes, I did...thanks for the invite.  I look  forward to getting to meet up with your group!!  My name is Kim, and my daughter is on the Eisenhower - out on deployment for 9 months.  She is an ABE Airman - green shirt - helps the planes take off and land??  I do live in Racine but there isn't much group meeting here. It makes me sad...I wish more people would like to get together...again, thanks!

@Mary, Yes, " Maltobella" !! Her son is a Depper and she lives in Wheaton! She came to the parade and was a great addition.

So sad...sort of...I will be in Michigan next weekend. I am going for some R&R. It's my mini vacation before the wedding in September. 

The parade was lots of fun! And yes Pat we did stay cooler than you thanks to Michelle's SUV.

About Cantigny (Rockin for the Troops).....Sorry to be so late in posting. Need to put this delicately.....my ex-MIL has been in the hospital with end-of-life care. I really feel I need to go to the funeral to support my 2 oldest kids. Well, she passed away yesterday and the funeral is Thurs. in Michigan. Didn't want to make plans with everyone and then have to bow out.

So.......I know Lauren and I are going to the concert, with Sally and Mary coming later in the afternoon/early evening. We could meet at my house and carpool or at least exchange cell# so we can find each other.
