Hello all! We all seem busy, busy, busy! Hope Cantigy was fun. I got to drive a 1956 tractor while you were all enjoying music.

Mary - hang in there - something has to break!

Life is busy right now. Out of town this coming weekend for a wedding, next weekend is my dauther-in-law is back in town for dress fittings and the bacholerette party and then another weekend in Michigan for a family reunion and then 3 weekends after that my son's wedding.   That is what I am to when I am not on this site.

  • Laura

Coco- And four weekends after that you could finally put your feet up and relax!

  • Laura

    HELLO ALL!

I think a Schaumburg meet and greet is WAY overdue!  My son is still out there floating on a boat.

The temps in the berthing area have cooled down from 125 to 110 degrees.  Insane! The ship uses the water that they are floating around in to cool the ship.  The water is 92 degrees.  Not much of a chance of cooling things down with that water.  No wonder everyone in that part of the world seems so grumpy!

  • Pat L. in IL

    Annie - Beautiful couple!!

Mary - Have a great visit!

Linda - Wishing you safe travel and a sweet reunion!

  • Pat L. in IL

Hey Everyone, Please check out the "Welcome Home and Thank You" on Sept. 29 in "Events"! If you can, please come for a few hours and help spread the word about Molly's Adopt A Sailor!!

  • Pat L. in IL

Michelle, Your choice, please let me know what you decide. I really appreciate any help!! Thanks!!

  • Maltobella (HM - San Antonio)

Hi, Lady Pat! I've still never come over to pack a box but I know I can come this day and do whatever you need of me, ma'am!

  • Pat L. in IL

@Maltobella, WONDERFUL!! We will get that packing lesson done, too! Guess what, I found your phone number..........you can't escape me!!! LOL!!

  • Pat L. in IL

@Mary, So glad that you are coming! No need to bring anything. Just need you to hand out brochures and spread the word. Thank you Mary!!!

  • Laura

Pat - So far it is game on for me on Sept. 29th.  I'm not sure what time I will be there.  I will let you know as we get closer to the date.  I will try to bring a few helpers as well.

  • Pat L. in IL

Laura, Thank you for your willingness to help. Look forward to seeing you on the 29th!!

  • Thetwoj

I'll come help. My son leaves for Boot Camp on the 26th, so chances are I'm going to be a red puffy mess, but if you don't mind, neither do I. I can make it that afternoon and I will try to round up a friend or two to come along.

  • Pat L. in IL

@Thetwoj, Wonderful!! What better way than to spend some time with fellow Navy moms who "get it"???? We got your back!!!!

  • Pat L. in IL

Oh Michelle, How fun!!! Just LOVE it when they surprise us!! Have a great visit and give him a hug from one of his "other moms."

On the 29th, how about 9-ish??

  • Debbie (Stephen's mom)

Just wanted to stop in and say hi.  I hope everyone is doing well.

Michelle I am so happy for you, enjoy your time with him.

Well I am so far behind on everything so I will just say hi and hope that all of your sailors are doing great.l

  • Debbie (Stephen's mom)

Michelle I hope you had a wonderful visit with Adam!

  • Pat L. in IL

Michelle, 9AM on the 29th is still good!!

BTW, Got a call from Laura and the church in Lake Zurich has gathered more goodies. So we will have a packing party in Oct.! Will let everyone know when they pick a date!!!

  • Thetwoj

Michelle, I'd love to be a part of the get together. Could you put Jackie (that's me) on the list? I can't wait to meet you ladies!

I will be helping the Molly's out on the 29th and am so looking forward to finally meeting some of you then.

  • Pat L. in IL

Thetwoj, Just be prepared.............you are gonna laugh and have a great time!!!!

  • MissMySailor

Pat did you know that a lady on the IL group is looking for you???

She wants to get involved with packing parties.

Hi everyone!!!!! I have to go back and do some catching up here. Want to find out when you all are getting together next and hoping to join you.

My son is on deployment so I am going through the blues. It helps to go on a few of the Navy websites and look up the ships current photo's.  His ship has been involved with 2 different excersises one in the Ukraine with 18 other countries and one in Israel so there were articles and pictures on the internet and my son was in 4 pictures so that was cool.

I think about you guys you are so much fun but I am usually in too much pain at night to go out late but I am hoping to at least sot by for an hour next time you get together.

Can someone send me the info for the next time you are meeting incase I can't find it going through old messages???

    HUgs Paula2

  • Pat L. in IL

Hi Paula, So nice to hear from you. Yes, I met Natalie at the Gary Sinise concert. I had several cards in my pocket and somehow managed to lose them. So I am very glad she tracked me down.

BTW, Welcome Home for the Troops event at Cantigny on Sept. 29 from 9AM to 10PM. We would love it if you could stop by!!!!

  • Pat L. in IL

I went to a meeting last night for the Welcome Home event. It is going to be absolutely fabulous! SO much bigger and better than last year due to the change in venue.

To the Moms attending: The "Molly's" tent will be at the end near the Vietnam traveling wall. And you do not need to sign in at the Registration tent, just head on over to our tent.

  • becky m

    hi.....need cliff notes....

  • Pat L. in IL

@Linda, At this point, I would say mid-afternooon. BUT I would say when the Moms see how fabulous this event is going to be, they end up staying longer than they intended!!

  • Pat L. in IL

@Linda, That sounds great! No fees! You do not need to stop at the volunteer tent. The Molly's tent is going to be at the end of the line of tents near the Vietnam traveling wall (or at least that is the plan right now)LOL

  • Thetwoj

Pat, I'm going to be there in the afternoon as well. Looked like you have the morning covered. I have to wait until after the Homecoming Parade. LOL. We'll be there around 1:00 as well.

  • Pat L. in IL

Thetwoj, Great! Can't wait to meet you. Thanks for helping out!

  • Pat L. in IL

@Michelle, 9AM is good! Thank you and see you Sat.

  • Pat L. in IL

HUGE THANK YOU'S to Lauren, Michelle, Becky, Mary, Laura, Jackie, Linda, Emily, and Sherry for helping out with the "Molly's Adopt A Sailor" table at Cantigny.  We had a great time! We received enough donations to ship 22 boxes!

Special thanks to Michelle!! (You know why!)

  • Thetwoj

Pat that is so awesome! I'm so glad we stuck around those few hours past all the other tents. What a great orginization and better, what a great group of supportive women! I was so happy to have been included. Thank you!

135 S. Buesching Rd.  Lake Zurich, IL 60047

  • SusanG in IL

Due to work and other issues, I haven't been able to participate in the packing parties, etc since 03/2011 but I plan on being at the one in Lake Zurich on 10/30. Where can I find a list of what is needed/wanted?

  • Pat L. in IL

SusanG, Wonderful! Look forward to seeing you again! For the list, go to "Molly's Adopt A Sailor project" and in the Discussion Forum at the top of the page, read about the USS Forrest Sherman.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Navy sisters. Love ya bunches!!

The location works for me.  It just depends on the date.  My sailor is coming home for Christmas!  I have no idea what I will be doing from day to day when he is home.  Probably running in circles!
