    Hi!!

    Welcome to your PIR group!

My son graduated BC in April of 2012. He is an  ET, stayed in GL for A School, went to C School in San Diego. He has also had additional schooling and training since (an ETs learning is never done).  He is forward-deployed and is attached to is a Whidbey Island-class landing ship.

A few other veteran moms will be joining to help answer questions, offer support, and give you lots of information.

There will also be lots of pages posted with information for you along the way. They will be posted as the subjects come up!

Remember there are no dumb questions, so ask away!

Fasten your seatbelts...the next few weeks will be a roller coaster ride, but at the end of the ride you are in for the best hug ever!!

Please take the time to read the PAGES here, on your PIR GROUP. The PAGES are located on the right side of this main comment wall, directly under the member photos.

Please be sure to read about:

N4M’s Community Guidelines and OPSEC (direct clickable Link)

We will be placing more information there along the way for you as well.

Happy to be here - Excited to see my son soon.  Hope he's having a great time!!!  Hope to meet up with some of you moms on 9/11.

  • Brandi

Haven't gotten the official letter, but his recruiter gave me 9/11, which makes sense since he left 7/15. I miss him terribly. It's been a week since i've hugged him last. I'm so glad to have a countdown!
  • BrendaproudMom

  • My baby boy is now a man

Hello all!! My son also arrived on 7/15. I just received the box today, but haven't received the form. Please let me know when you guys received your form. Thanks and I look forward to getting  through this experience with you all.

  • ellen0502

If your recruits arrived around the 15th of July, I would venture a guess form letters are only a few days away from your mailboxes. :)

I know the 800 division recruits in this TG have already sent their form letters, and unless the first couple divisions in this group are waiting on females to arrive, the first couple divisions can't be too far behind.

  • Shelley

Sweet - will the form letter say how much time they have off?

  • ellen0502

Shelley, The form letter will give you the ship number, division number and address. It will also contain the password for the parking pass at PIR. Keep the letter in a safe place!

Not sure what you are asking about time off. If you are wondering about PIR weekend, recruits staying in GL for A School will have daytime liberty all weekend, those flying out for A School will have Friday after PIR.

    Hi!

    Welcome to Navy for Moms!!

My Sailor Daughter's PIR was March 2013--can't believe how fast time has flown!. She is an IT3 (Information Systems Technician, Petty Officer Third Class). I primarily provide scriptural encouragement for the PIR groups, Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and a few of the other groups that I am a member of. I'll also help out with anything that I am familiar with--all kinds of tidbits I learned during my daughter's Boot Camp experience~~ This site really made the time go much faster. I'm so thankful that my Sailor daughter sent me the link for this awesome group of friends when she enlisted!! Count 9 Fridays and before you know it, you'll be seeing your baby again at PIR!!  Here we go!!!

    Hello All!

         "Nevertheless, I am continually with You;

You hold me by my right hand.  You guide

me with Your counsel, and afterward

          receive me to glory."

On our way to FedEx to pick up the box, because it came while we were at work and we don't want to wait. I've never been in this big of a hurry to get my son's dirty laundry!!

I know how you feel Marvinkmooney

    Good Morning Everyone!

  • MarvinKMooney

Got his box. It smelled like fear and boy. LOL He had included a Starbucks card for his sister that said, "For 'Sister', Love you, Miss you." ::::sniffle:::::

I hope we get our letters today. Hugs to you all.

Sidenote: Has anyone seen/used the write2them.org? Any experiences with that, veteran moms?

  • ellen0502

Isn't it! Thank goodness the green goes away with more coffee.

  • JdubMom

My SR shipped 7/14 got the box on 7/17 & form letter on 7/20. Wasn't expecting it so soon, nice surprise. Hoping you all get yours soon!

  • My baby boy is now a man

I received the form letter today. Div 302. Do anyone else have a son/daughter in that Div?

  • Gavin's Mom

My son shipped 7/14. Received his box and the form letter. PIR is 9/11. He is division 300. Anyone have a recruit in division 300?
  • Gavin's Mom

Just wondering--we were told he would be able to have 4 people on his PIR GUEST LIST. When we got the form letter, only 3 of us were listed. Why would that be???
  • ellen0502

The formal list is not actually used for guests at PIR, your recruits will have the opportunity to finalize their list the last couple weeks of BC.

We won't know for sure, whether it is three or four guests allowed at PIR until we know how many divisions are in this TG.

Some recruits can't think fast enough for names, others list mom, dad, and a pets name. Don't worry to much avout who is on the list right now.
