ALUMNI OF PIR 11/06/2015 TG 52 - 10 Divisions (369-376, 820 and 952)

I have not heard from my son but I found out from  the recruiter and this is the PIR date. So i ahve no divison and ship info yet

I just got home, I got the letter ,I am so happy don't know what to do!  My son SHIP 6 DIV 370, looks like we are next to each other Mommacnavy! Garrysmom where you?Great Lakes here I come! My advice book your rooms, I will be at The Navy Lodge! Don't wait to make reservation. I am so thankful to have all the moms on this site. A special thanks to Tiffany and Lemonelephant. The time you devote here has made such an emotional uncertain time, SOO much easier to deal with, you both are truly a blessing, I cannot or ever will be able to thank you enough!♥ Angela

Garry'smom & TheRocksmom - I hope I get my letter tomorrow!  Even though he gave me some of the info on the phone today, I'm getting greedy, and I want to see it in print...in his writing :)  Garry'smom, what Div & Ship is your son?  The Rocksmom, I was hoping our sons would be the same :(  I booked our room at Navy Lodge!  And, we are planning to go to Sarge's Meet & Greet Thurs night, per advice on this site & from some family that were in our shoes only 2-1/2 years ago.  

I am also so thankful to have all the moms on this site... it is SO comforting to go on here and see that I am not alone in what I'm dealing with, and that I am not crazy for being so excited about the tiniest things (ie dirty clothes)!  It will be nice to meet you in Great Lakes!

I just got a call from my son!!!!  He had to get more information for his clearance and we were able to talk for about 10 minutes.  He sounded great and said he was eating really good.  Told me he knows how to fold stuff (finally (:) and that he was making a lot of friends.  I got a definite confirmation of his PIR date so I am about too book our room.  Hope everyone has a happy Friday!!! 

Hi, I'm new here and glad I finally joined!  My son is on Ship 6/Division 369 also Mommacnavy!  Sounds like some of you are getting phone calls, so excited for you!!  I haven't heard from my son since 1:20am Sept 9th saying he finally arrived at boot camp.  We received the letter yesterday and I have already reserved a room at the navy lodge.  November 6th can't come soon enough!!  

Room booked at Navy Lodge for Thur-Sun PIR week.  I am so stinking excited.  I can not wait!!!!!

I got the form letter yesterday!  He is in Ship 6 and Division 370

I got my son's letter yesterday, too and was impressed at how neat his writing is already. He's in Ship 6, Division 370.

They have very little time for personal comments in the form letter....look forward to that first personal letter!  It will be the best! 

On the piks, ladies, try scanning/printing on the back of your letters or separate sheets of paper, collage style.  Don't make your envelopes thick since it will make them have to open their letters in front of the RDCs.  They don't want that attention!  Mail in several envelopes to keep the thickness normal. Also, they have very little storage space there....the collage style piks on paper will take up less of their space.

tessina:  They update their guest lists about a week before PIR.  No worries.  Just make sure he has the proper names for that list....preferably matching IDs to get in.  If he knows someone by a nickname, but that is not on their ID, make sure he knows the ID proper name.  Write this info to your sailor.

Navy Lodge constantly gets cancellations, so if they are full, keep calling them back to check.  Don't check online for cancellations....call them!

TraciG151 it looks like our SR's are together.  That little bit of boxy handwriting just absolutely made my week.  Navy Lodge booked, but it looks like we will be the only ones driving.

We finally got the form letter with his writing on it!  He also wrote a little note, to the right of the Intended Guests!  One thing he said was "we went the first 50 hours without sleeping but finally did last night"! WOW.  I guess they are really breaking them down!  

We booked Navy Lodge & are staying all weekend, leaving Monday.  Just in case he has a Sunday flight... a mom can dream, right?  It sounds like a lot of people will be staying at Navy Lodge :)

jenn72675- so glad you got a phone call!  That's a LONG one!  Doesn't it make you feel so much better to hear his voice & hear he is making friends, etc? 

All our kids are all going to be pretty tight when this is over!  They are going through so much together that we will never truly understand!  Judging from the parents/loved ones in this group, it sounds like there are a lot of awesome "kids" in PIR 11/06!  So exciting! 

swimgeeksmom - YES!  All the mail people / FedEx people think we're crazy already anyway!  Haha!  I'm gonig to start running out to our mail lady starting midweek!!

If you "make nice" with your mail carrier, just maybe she/he will look for your SR's letters and bring them to your front door!  It has been done in the past!  :-)

• I just booked my room in Libertyville.  Lucky this time around as my older boy who spent A school in Great Lakes will be with us.  Navy Lodge is great, we just have few extra people this time and having the indoor pool was very appealing for the kids
