    Hello All!

"The sun will no more be your light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,

for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and

Your God will be your glory."

                                                            Isaiah 60:19

  • CatMom509

    TheRocksmom,

Navy Lodge is on a busy throughfare with no pedestrian access to RTC.  You will need to drive your car or take a shuttle.  Navy Lodge has its own shuttle to PIR too~~

  • CatMom509

    TraG151,

It may be that your SR ended up on watch when calls are scheduled.  Also, with him writing 10 letters, he may think that's a good amount of communication already!!  Some kids don't understand our need to hear their voices~~  :)

  • Tinamarie105

Have to ask, although I should know the answer. What is TG 52?
  • TraG151

Mimi he left on 9-10 and I know exactly what you mean about the tissue and fetal position. I would be to without this. Catmom509 he should know better.. Lol his brother and him are best friends and he knows his brother is missing him. But I know if he could he would call.

TG52=Training Group 52.  The last training group of the fiscal year!  The next group, the 11/13 group is TG01, and all of the division numbers start over with that group.

  • Lisa

Well mom's it was nice to get to know you but it looks like my daughter got in trouble and got pushed back so I guess I'll be moving over to the PIR 11/13 group.
  • diannep

Lisa:  It happens....chin up....she'll get it together!  See you on the 11/13 group!

  • Lisa

Diannep do you have a link I can't seem to find it
  • mommacnavy

Lisa - so sorry... stay positive with her, I'm sure she needs that especially now!  I will be thinking about & praying for her & you :)  It's only 1 more week!! :)

  • diannep

  • Lisa

    Thanks diannep... See you there
  • Lisa

Hi Diannep, I have a question how does this affect my daughter's school will she be late and does this mean she will have to leave immediately after PIR?
  • Lisa

Thanks mammacnavy... I will definitely stay positive I know it's only one week but it still stinks. And the new group just won't be the same.
  • TraG151

Lisa, I am sorry. We are all still here for you. Friend us and if you need anything we aren't going amywhere. We started this journey together all of us in the group so it doesn't matter what date she graduates, you are a part of this little family of moms! ❤️
  • Mandimae83

    Lisa,
I am sorry! We are still here for you!
  • mommacnavy

Lisa- Yeah, it does stink... I'm sure it stinks for her also even worse. TraG151 makes a good point!  I say you stay involved with BOTH groups!  We were your first group, and that will never change :)  Plus, you will probably run into a lot of us in A School groups, etc throughout her navy career!  We are friends on here... message me any time also :)

  • Lisa

Thanks everyone for the support, it means a lot. :)
  • diannep

Lisa:  My son was delayed a week also when up there....he still left for his school with the others, the next day.  Don't think you need to be concerned about that.  They hold for a while at A School most times anyway.

  • Lisa

Thanks for all your help Diannep.
  • Momma8480

Lisa-I agree, don't leave our group just because of the PIR date! We are still your navy mom family!! Stay with us!! All my thoughts are with you and your daughter, I know this is hard for her and I can't imagine how she is feeling.. It could be any one of our babies and I would hope that you wouldn't give up on me... I won't give up on you... We are here for you.. We have a bond now whether or not we have actually ever met! I go to guys for comfort regularly and I hope you can do the same.
  • Momma8480

Morning all, on my way to work, checking. Anyone get a new letter from their kid yet?

  • samsmom

Catmom509 I really enjoy reading your verses.
  • TheRocksmom

Good afternoon, I am playing catch up, Lisa, I am so sorry, but I agree only 1 week and I agree with mommacnavy & TraG151.  STAY in touch, go to between both PIR dates. Things happen and you know, we all make mistakes. Just keep encourging your daughter and let her know your behind her no matter what! I am sure you will connect with wonderful mom's on PIR 11.13.15! Remember we are all in this boat together..  CATMOM awesome inspriational things to ponder,  diannep, you be awesome, always here. ellen0502 where would we be if it wasn't for this group! I can see I will be on this site for many years to come. This is all us mom's!

  • SMW729

Does anyone know how often the SR's get paid?  I am trying to balance my sons checkbook and he hasn't gotten a direct deposit yet.  Thanks.

  • MountainMom

SMW729 From what I understand, they get paid in the middle of the month and at the end of the month

  • mommacnavy

SMW729 - See http://navyformoms.com/forum/topics/things-to-do-in-the-last-month-....  Tons of valuable info, including:

Paydays are the 1st and 15th, but recruits must be at the RTC at least 3 full weeks to be paid on a pay day, so if you will be paying bills for your recruit, it is best to have enough back ahead of time to cover one to two month's bills because although your recruit will be paid from the first day, it could take 3 or 4 pay days for the pay to settle in to what it will be.

    Hi Friends!

         "O my Strength, I watch for You;

You, O God, are my Fortress."

Just found out my son's girlfriend got a letter today.  He did have all 4 wisdom teeth out.  He did not get to call home since he had the 2 days of SIQ.

She said that they did pass the inspection!!!  Division 369.  He is still section leader.  So good news he has not lost that job!  LOL,  So much for keeping yourself below the radar!

  • My Sailor daughter

Hi everyone, My daughter also was pushed back a week making her graduation day 11/6. She was so upset. I tried calming her down it was so upsetting but I have to say they gave her a few minutes to talk which helped her. I've been looking for flight but thank God I didn't purchase it. I've decided to ride out there, but don't look forward to the 12 hour trip. I saw on here about southwest airlines I got so excited. Our luck they fly from out of our local airports but not to the Ohare airport or Wisconsin. Does anyone how far is Midway airport in Chicago to great lakes?
  • TraG151

My Sailor Daugter welcome. I am sorry to hear about your daughter, I am sure it's upsetting. :( Poor thing. My heart goes out to her! Just hang in there and encouragement is what she needs right now!
Bpickship I am glad you got some news. That always makes us moms happy to make sure they are ok. :) I can't wait to get more letters and I am hoping to get a call soon. Fingers crossed and prayers that I will hear his voice soon. My phone is still a piece of me.. I have never been so attached to my phone. Lol. Have a good day ladies.
  • tessina75

Garry'smom thank you so much for sharing! I had no idea, I'm definitely going this weekend!
  • mommacnavy

Garry'smom - THANK YOU!  I didn't know that, didn't even think to look!  I will definitely be going there soon! :)

  • diannep

My Sailor Daughter:  Yes, Midway is over an hour away, usually longer because of traffic in Chicago.  Southwest doesn't fly into Ohare at all, only Midway and Milwaukee.  Sorry they don't fly into Milwaukee from your area, but Midway would be doable.  So look into fare for that.....no change fee, 2 bags check for free, and you get a discount rental car code.

  • diannep

To add to their pay info, the first 2 checks are smaller because their supplies/uniform costs are taken out of those. So don't be alarmed!

  • diannep

Thanks for the kind words TheRocksMom!

  • Mandimae83

I have a question. We will be flying into Midway is there a shuttle service to take us to the hotel?
  • TheRocksmom

Good evening, well I am playing catch up again, Garrysmom I be heading to Hallmark tomorrow, btw you be awesome!. My Sailors Daughter, Welcome, this is the worst part, not knowing what is going on, and then being blindsided by not the greatest news, everyday I think, "did he do ok today?, is he paying attention?"  DID HE PASS MONDAY'S TEST???? So many factors to consider. I have found that being here is such a source of relief..It's torture I tell ya, being a mom... in times like these, The not knowing is the worst by far. I think I have aged at least 5 years in the last 3 weeks, I want you all to know my Blue Candle list grows daily, and includes prayers for everyone here. I will make certain that My Sailors Daughter is gets a special one to the stars. Gotta go light it now. One of my favorite quotes when exercising faith is "The world is more than we know" hang in there my Mom's, the best is yet to come..  diannep, NO thank you.

  • My Sailor daughter

Swimgeekmom and diannep thank you for the info. I'm definitely going to check on that. Omg, A 2 hour drive would be nothing compare to 12 hour. TraG151 yes you are right that same night I wrote to her. Letting her know that not to worry everything will be alright. How much we love her and ect. But I'm not going to lie it's hard. That's why I love being on here it helps so much. TheRocksmom thank you for that. I really appreciate every little bit help. I myself am one that is always praying for everyone in Great lakes..
  • diannep

Mandimae:  You can contact Sarge for his taxi service from the airport....847 212 0246 (call or text).  He will be busy starting today through the weekend with the current PIR group, but will get back to you.  You can also go to his website and get info:

    Hello All,

Hoping to get a phone call today since I got one lat Thursday! I got a second letter yesterday and it was very upbeat and positive. To my relief (and his) the food is great!

    Take care.

  • diannep

    Good Morning Everyone!

  • My Sailor daughter

Good Morning everyone. Getting ready for the hurricane, better safe than sorry.
  • SMW729

Me too My Sailor daughter, where are you at?  I am a little worried about this on.  We have had soaking rains for about 6 days now and I don't think we can stand much more.  Stay safe everyone.

  • mommacnavy

My Sailor daughter- So sorry to hear your daughter has been delayed a week... so frustrating I'm sure, especially for her.  Welcome to our group :)  I will be praying everything else goes more smoothly for your daughter!  I pray every day for my son and all the sons & daughters in Great Lakes... as well as us family members.

bpickship- thanks for relaying some of the details from your son's letter!  Awesome to hear 369 passed their inspection!  And that your son is still section leader too :)  My son is a PFC, which I guess means he carries a flag in front.  I'm hoping he keeps that position because it will be a lot easier to pick him out at graduation :)
