ALUMNI OF PIR 11/06/2015 TG 52 - 10 Divisions (369-376, 820 and 952)

If this is a repeat post, I apologize. Last Saturday, I was able to tell my SR that I would be bringing his younger siblings--17 years, 15 years, and 21 months--with me for PIR. He is super excited and they are, as well. We're from FL and my kiddos are definitely warm weather kids...but hoping and praying that they'll see some snow. What is the weather like at Great Lakes during the first week of November? We are gathering all of the sweaters/sweatshirts that we have, and I'm sure they'll be fine. It wouldn't make any sense to buy stuff we won't use again.

So excited for the possible call this Saturday! and maybe a letter Thursday?? Being a little greedy but I will take what I can get! Get ready DIV 374!

Good Morning all. Today is my son's 25th birthday and missing him so much!!! He told me last time we spoke I was the last person to hug him. I'm hoping his officer would give him a break... maybe a phone call (wishful thinking for me) . Our boys are halfway through and we have something to look forward to :)

swimgeeksmom:  I'm so very sorry, but like your outlook and your son's too.  Getting in/staying in the military these days is NOT easy....not what it used to be.  The "New" Navy is what they call it....the oldtimers at my son's duty station said they have never seen so many being released as is happening now....not only in Bootcamp, but during A School and at duty stations.  The Navy is overmanned, so that makes it easy for them to tighten up what they will accept and not accept.  Please thank your son for us....for his willingness to serve his country.  We are so grateful for that.  His life story continues and I have no doubt he will take his experience in Navy Bootcamp as a positive in his life journeys....lessons he learned.  Blessings to him as he seeks his next step on his life journey.

Absolutely, swimgeeksmom.  Please DO stay here and let us know how he is doing.  He sounds like success is right around the corner for him in his life.....hoping that this site continues to be a place of comfort for you!

Got 2 very upbeat letters today!! So very grateful things are turning around. I don't comment or post much, but I'm here daily reading and following. My SR is VERY private so I have hesitated saying much of anything. He told me today he does not care if I post about him!! He also traced his hand and said to use it to give everyone at home a high 5.

jenn:  I'm so sorry.....but you will need to wait to hear from your SR agian.  RTC can tell you nothing, sorry about that.  I sure hope they can keep him and find an acceptable reason for the blackouts (meaning they will go away)....when he calls again, ask him to be sure to sign a waiver if he is sent to SEPS allowing you to speak to the "powers that be" up there if he is indeed sent to SEPS.  Otherwise, they can tell you nothing....only your SR can.  I sure hope that it works out for him.

My SR is Div 369. Can anyone tell me if today is 4-1 or 4-2?

JAK4NAK today is 4-2 for our Div 369.

TraG151- praying for her & all the students at NAU!  My best friend's daughter is there, as well as my next door neighbor!  They are both ok, but so shook up.  Anyway, praying for all!

Garry's mom & everyone- we got a letter yesterday (Div 369), it was my questionnaire, all filled out!  The best part was under Comments, he put "This was fun!  Thanks mom!!".  Made my week for sure :) He threw out 9 names of guys he's friends with in 369, and I only know who one of the moms are so far on N4M.  PM me if your son's last name starts with D, L, C (from Southern CA), L, P (Ilinois), D (Ghana), M (Brooklyn), S (Oregon), K (Ohio- bunkmate).  Thanks!

Nuke&SnipesMom:  Did you get that training week/date count from your SR?  Because according to their BattleStations date, I believe today should be 4-1 for them. 

Nuke&SnipesMom, JAK4NAK & diannep - how are we supposed to be counting?  My SR (Div 369) said on 10/02 that it was Day 3-2. 

Today (Friday) is 4-2 day for DIv 369-370...this is according to both my SR and the RTC command page- or Hooyah Jeff I should say.

Mommacnavy I had the same date Oct 2 was 3-2 per my calendar (from SR and the RTC page). So would that not make today 4-2?  Not sure where I'm gaining a day....but I do wonder if Monday being Columbus Day will count as a holiday routine for them or a normal training day? I could be off a day but if that's the case, the RTC page as well as my SR's dates have matched all along. Maybe I missed something.

mimi:  The only way to know their training week/day is if your SR tells you. Write it down on a calendar when they give you a week/day number....remember that weekends and holidays do not count in the training days and the days are numbered 1 through 5.  The training weeks are started after processing days too....Bootcamp week count is different from training week count.

I think I know what has happened and why today is 4-2 for 369/370.  The BattleStations date is actually a day earlier than they normally start.  That is the only explanation for why today is 4-2.  . 

Ok, Plan B, mimi:  Next time he calls, ask him right away what training day he is on or WILL be on the next Monday if a weekend call (with this Monday a holiday, it will not be a training day so they will be on hold).  :-)

Yes, it is possible to be in processing days for a week...or longer for some.  Just depends on when they arrive at RTC.  They do BattleStations on 6-5 usually, so PIR during week 7.  Those who do BattleStations first will PIR at the end of week 7, whereas those who do them last will PIR in the middle of week 7.
