  • mommacnavy

Nuke&SnipesMom- ok, I'm feeling a little clueless right now! which RTC page are you finding this info on? Could you please post a link?  And who is Hooyah Jeff?  Sorry if these are dumb questions... :)

  • mommacnavy

diannep- thanks for explaining all that!  I was including Saturdays :/ I think I'm good on the dates now!  Phew!

  • diannep

mommacnavy:  It can be quite confusing!  It took me a while to figure it out....but that was almost 6 yrs ago when my son was there!
    Good Morning All !

  • diannep

lmommacnavy:  Here is the link to the RTC FB page.  You do NOT have to be a member of FB to see this page:

  • Nen's Mom

Got a call today division 371 . So happy to hear from him.
    Keep your phones near you!!!
Yesterday was 4-2 according to my SR.
  • tessina75

Calls from 374 coming in! Yay! So happy I talked to my baby today! 4 more weeks! :)
  • My Sailor daughter

Good Morning everyone, Calls from 373 coming in.. I just spoke to my daughter. She sounded so happy. They go for pic next week tues if not mistaken. She so made my day today!
  • Mandimae83

Good morning! Calls coming in talked to my son Div 369. Please also say a quick prayer for my son. They have found something on his MRI. So please join with me in prayer! Thanks in advance! Prayers for all everyday!
  • TraG151

I have a question can they see the news there? I am worried that of my son can see the news about the shooting at his girlfriends school he will be freaking out.
  • TraG151

Mandimae81 prayers sent. Thinking of you both.
  • jenn72675

No medical Seps for my SR. He sounded great. It's was stress related or anxiety. Looking forward to getting the I'm a Sailor call.
  • mommacnavy

mandimae83- just prayed!  And will continue to pray!

TraG151- my son just told me this morning the only time they know what's in the news is if some has to go to the other base for something medical.  There are tv's there, but not where they are.  So, he would have to hear from someone who was there & came back.

  • TraG151

Thank you mommacnavy! I don't want him stressed out anymore than he probably is. :) I hope I get a call soon!
  • diannep

TrafG:  They keep them isolated from most of the news.  If your SR happened to hear about the shooting and freaks out, they may let him call home for reassurance. But now that they know all of the victims were male, I know he will be relieved that she wasn't hurt.  Tragic all the way around though....

  • diannep

jenn:  Wonderful news from your SR!

  • diannep

Mandimae:  Prayers that what they saw on the MRI is nothing to be concerned about.

  • diannep

    Good Morning!

  • TheRocksmom

Good morning! I missed the call yesterday, he called home and I was out, my older son tried to get three way call going, but I was in dead zone, :( .Mandimae, I work in Neurology/Neurosurgery, try not to worry, many things can be found on MRI, prior injuries like a concussion. Sometimes artifacts are on there, like if patient not completely staying still. ALOT off blackouts are caused by syncope, a regulation in blood presssure. Dehydration, hypoglycemia, intense physical exercise, and standing up too quickly can all be factors. I saying prayer, I know the anxiety that you are experiencing, please "try to stay calm", they will probably do more testing like ekg (cardio) eeg (neuro) IF warranted, everyone would be surprised about what can be seen on MRI's, that r there but are unremarkable. Essentially normal! Hang in there! We all here for you and your SR, this fourm is quickly becoming my extended family. Everyone have a blessed Sunday.♥

  • My Sailor daughter

    Good Morning :)
  • Mandimae83

Therocksmom sorry you did not get your call I know that is heart breaking! Thank you so much for your insight! That puts my mind at ease! You know as a mom we can't help but worry! I'm believing in God that is is just what you said! Thank all of you again for your prayers and support. I agree I am loving our new extended family!!
  • CatMom509

    Blessed Sunday!

sweet to the soul and healthy

          for the body."

  • Momma8480

Haven't spoken in awhile as my son had been down. Spoke to him yesterday and he said that bootcamp was easy for the most part but missing home for the first time was the tough part.. So nice to hear good news. They did rifle training and have been doing things that are fun to him so I guess it's getting better for our boys! His only concern is the chief, he tries to avoid him! ;) hope you are all getting happier calls and letters. We Re almost there and I can't wait to meet you all!
  • mommacnavy

jenn72675- awesome news that your SR is not medical SEPS!

Therocksmom- so sorry you missed the call :(  So heartbreaking!

Momma8480- awesome to hear your call was more positive!  Our call yesterday was more positive also :)  He was definitely looking forward to the more "exciting" training that Hell Week brings!

On another note, Div 369 moms- my SR told me they have not earned a flag yet (as of yesterday).  SR's can personally pass scholastic tests, inspections & whatnot, but to get a flag, the whole Division has to pass, and they haven't.  It's a bummer, but hopefully SOON they will earn a flag!  Just thought I should pass on what I was told :(

  • diannep

    Good Morning!

  • Terri

Prayers to you and your son. God is in control and the plans he has for your son will be the perfect ones!!! God Bless him for his strong will.
  • diannep

Absolutely, swimgeeksmom.  Glad that he will fight it.  It can take a while to fight it, so keep encouraging him when you find out where you can write him.  It will be so worth it in the end if he can stay!  Prayers for him....and you too!  And for the "powers that be" making the decisions.

  • KYNavyMomma

Mommacnavy: I will PM a link to the FB page that confirms training days for the divisions.   They also let us know which dates our divisions have the upcoming blood drives.....

    Here is one. https://www.facebook.com/groups/777845905588758/

And the other ...they update us on training days for each division. https://www.facebook.com/groups/926984474025698/

  • diannep

TonyN:  You may want to take their shuttle....they have their own and it is only $2/pp each way.  To me, that is the most convenient method.  You can drive if you want to but will wait in the car lines....the shuttles bypass those.  Unless you approach RTC from the train station....the traffic is coming from the other way.  But if you can head to it from the train station, it is an easy left turn onto base.  Navy Lodge personnel could help you directions on that.  The shuttle will take you back to the hotel after PIR.

  • diannep

*Tony:  The shuttle is relatively new to Navy Lodge.  That is probably why you heard they didn't have one.  You can call the front desk to confirm, but even if they have dropped it again, Sarge has a shuttle service as well.  It is $3/pp each way.  He is the one who has the MeetandGreet for you the night before PIR....you can sign up there for it.

  • diannep

TonyN:  The shuttles are usually waiting for you all after PIR.  They will have to make several trips, but the good news is that Navy Lodge is close to RTC so their turnaround is fast.

  • diannep

    Good Morning!

  • TheRocksmom

Good Afternoon, 23days,,,, TonyN we are staying at NavyLodge shuttle starts at 6am, you can get the tickets when you check in, personally I will be ready by 5! Mandimae83, hang in there. Mommacnavy, yes, I still am not over it :( glad for you Jenn;  Who all is going to the Meet and Greet???

  • KYNavyMomma

I am going to the Meet & Greet.  we are staying at Candlewood Suites- across the street from Meet & Greet.  Didn't book Navy Lodge in time, but we couldn't stay there any way because we will have our oldest Sailor with us any way.   23 days....that sounds so wonderful.... 3 Fridays....even better!

  • TheRocksmom

Catmom509; I havent mentioned you yet, But I ponder on your verses each one that you post, I paticularly like this one for both you and diannep,  you deliver this everyday.

"Kind words are like honey --

sweet to the soul and healthy

          for the body."

                               Proverbs 16:24

  • TheRocksmom

Nukes&SnipesMom I want to make a list of everyone so I seek them out!  I thought you were, but to go back thru the thread, is so long...  I LIKE 3 FRIDAYS BETTER..... I don't think I have ever been so anxious for a day, since the day he was born

  • TheRocksmom

This is his dog, Princess Bella Luna, when I ask her where he is:( she only we got her in July, but this dog howls at his room...

  • mommacnavy

swimgeeksmom- I'm glad he is fighting for what he wants!  I will be praying for him, as I'm sure it will not be an easy process... praying for a positive outcome too!

Nuke&SnipesMom- thanks for the links!  I just requested to join both.  SO MANY GROUPS!  I had no idea!

My family is staying at Navy Lodge, and also going to the Meet & Greet.  Also hoping to meet a lot of my new N4M friends there :)  Haven't decided on shuttle vs rental car to PIR.

I don't see an event listed to the left for the 11/05 Sarge's Meet & Greet... am I just not looking in the right spot?  It would be nice if everyone had somewhere to post "yes I'm going" so we don't have to try to look back through tons of pages on this thread :)

Therocksmom- cute dog :)  My SR's dog (a brindle boxer) loves to go in his room & sleep on his bed.  If I mention his name, she goes crazy trying to look for him out our front gate :(

  • diannep

mommacnavy:  Sarge said he cannot pick up the RSVP from the links he posts in the EVENTS section.  It may be that he just hasn't posted the NOV groups on there....or....would rather you contact him through his website.

  • diannep

Here's the link to Sarge's website so you can get MeetandGreet info and RSVP:

    http://www.mynavytaxi.com/events.html

  • diannep

    So cute, TheRocksMom!

  • diannep

Ok, suggestion.  Why don't one of you start a discussion above entitled:  Who will be attending Sarge's MeetandGreet???  That way, the ladies will have a discussion group to discuss it and post if they are coming.  It is easy to add a discussion.  Just click on:  Add a Discussion above under the Forum!  This would NOT be place of RSVPing to Sarge (link below).  He still needs for you to RSVP on his website so he knows how to order/prepare the food for the dinner.

  • diannep

*This would NOT be in place of RSVPing to Sarge.....

  • diannep

TheRocksMom:  Awwww, thanks...for dedicating that verse to CatMom and me!

  • diannep

For those who still may want to stay at Navy Lodge, keep calling them.  They get cancellations!

  • Angee80

Hi, I don't post much but I truly love this page. I come on everyday. Just wanted to post that my family and I have signed up to attend the meet and greet. Very excited to meet everyone.
  • Tinamarie105

Diannep...I started a discussion for those going to the Meet and Greet. That way we know who to look for when we go.
  • SMW729

I will be at the meet and greet as well and staying at the Navy Lodge.  Is anyone decorating their door at the Lodge?  I read somewhere that people did it, but I am not creative or crafty at all.   TheRocksmom, that is one adorable furbaby and 3 Fridays is a FANTABULOUS way to look at the next few weeks.

  • Tinamarie105

We aren't staying at the Navy Lodge but we are decorating the door with a sign.
