  • KYNavyMomma

Div 369 Momma here....phone is attached to me and ringer up as high and loud as it will go!  At work today, we all dressed up for Halloween in the office.  I have already had too much sugar- everyone brought candy in.  I will be a hot mess by this afternoon- I haven't been this hyper in ages!  Just can't wait to talk to my brand new Sailor :)

  • My Sailor daughter

Good Morning, I'm sorry I forgot to mention in our quick phone call my daughter said she talk to me Tues.
  • TheRocksmom

I am at work, :( do to my job, I cannot leave early.... There is a sit in at my home, I have asked them to audio the call so at least I can hear his voice when I get home. It's down to the wire, I pray every last one of the SR makes it thru... check back later, Catmom thanks, diannep as always....

  • Tamme Billions

I am so heart broken for my son. I got a letter yesterday from my son. It was obviously written before he found about being medically released. It indicated the Navy had placed him in a leadership role and that he got picked to participate in the Captains Cup. He talked about how well he was doing on his tests and how much he loved it. I cried every time I looked at it and my husband was all choked up!
  • KYNavyMomma

Tammie Billions...my heart aches. Your post brings tears to my eyes...I can't even imagine being in your shoes or your Son's right now. THere are just no words for how cruel this all has been.

  • TraG151

Tamme I know exactly what you mean I got letters yesterday of the same sort! Before he knew he was coming home. I don't understand but no one said I had to I am just focusing on getting him home into our loving arms and starting a new journey what ever it may be. I am a single mom of 5 I have raised them all alone and it doesn't matter I am soooooo proud of him yesterday he called me and told me he was sorry for letting me down for not making it but he did. A week before graduation. He made it through! I am more proud of him then any words can explain. He truly is my hero! I am driving 25 hours to pick him up because I don't want him riding a bus home by himself. So road trip it is!
  • TraG151

But yes the tears have fallen many times!!
  • TheRocksmom

TraG151, Tammie Billions, Thru motherhood I have learned so many lessons, I always have told my son's there are no failures in life, when you do your best. it's not sometimes getting to the end but how you conduct yourself along the way. Please let your son's know, this is NOT a failure, this is a stepping stone to where they will go in their lives, As I sit here, I am reminding out at young ages our children choose to the hard thing, the right thing. I never had that resolve at the same age... This above all makes me so proud, how could I ever be disapointed, I hope your actions and behavior when you finally are reunited with your son's, is one filled with love with no resentment. Remember they started this journey as every one of us mom's have here, with Honor, Courage and Commitment.  So there is NOTHING to be disappointed in as mom's, at the end of things I would rather my son and myself hold on to these 3, then to create a realm of resentment. Please don't misunderstand my comments, my heart hurts for you, and tears run down my face to know the hurt you feel. I hold steadfast to Granny's words "The world is more than we know, and when the lord shuts a door he opens a window"  I never understood that when I was small, but now I know she meant a window of opportunity...

  • TheRocksmom

    my grammer bad, I meant to write;

" I am reminded that at an young age our children choose to do the hard thing, the right thing."

  • diannep

The next BattleStations will be on Mon night with the last ones on Tues night.  There will be Captains Cup in the morning for all divisions....fun athletic competition for them!

Remember that BattleStations is an overnight drill....12 hrs.

  • diannep

Tamme......wow.....such mixed messages.  I'm so very sorry....

  • MrsAFJ

I thought it was against Navy rules to post anything about Battleships, especially dates. It was the same as posting ship movement???

  • John'sMom

  • TraG151

I am so excited for you moms. Therocksmom I know exactly what you mean. He didn't fail us, he made us proud! I told him to keep his head up and a smile on his face. He didn't disappoint me or anyone.
  • My Sailor daughter

Tammie and TraG101 I'm so sorry to hear what's going on. My heart goes out to you both. I'm sure when you heard your son say I want to join the navy must of been hard. Watching them leave to boot camp even harder, and now this way far the hardest. They are definitely still heros. It not easy deciding to join and go to boot camp. I will be praying for them and the family. Hoping and new doors to open for them as soon as they get home.
  • SMW729

For the veteran members...Is there ever anywhere they post the results of the Captains Cup?

  • sixpark

    Tamme and TraG151
Please know my heart goes out to you and both your sons. Tell them I thank them for joining the Navy and wanting to serve our country . I hope it helps knowing others care.
  • jenn72675

Got a call tonight that my son has been moved to FIT. This voice during that scripted call broke my heart. I stopped him from finishing and told him that I would talk to him Monday when he called to tell me he had passed. Please pray that he is able to regain his confidence and push through. I know he can do it, I just pray he knows that too.
  • sixpark

What does moved to FIT mean?
  • jenn72675

He did not pass a portion of the PFA. He will have another chance to take it on Monday. According to what he told me if he does not pass it then he will not be at PIR.
  • sixpark

Thanks for explaining. I will say some prayers for him.
  • Tinamarie105

    Prayers Jenn!
  • nlover4real

Tamme and TraG151 i am so sorry about your boys my heart aches for them I just want to wrap my arms around them and tell them that they will be ok. I know god has big plans in store for them. Going through this has only made them stronger your families are in my prayers.

Jenn72675 I am also praying that your son passes his test on Monday.
  • nlover4real

Is the meet and greet only for those staying at the Navy Lodge
  • CatMom509

    nlove4real,

The Meet & Greet is for all Navy families that have a Sailor graduating the next day~~

  • CatMom509

    Hello All!

" Let your light so shine before men,

that they may see your good works

and glorify Your Father in heaven."

                                             Matthew 5:16

  • TheRocksmom

Catsmom awesome Pumpkin's: well got the call, he's made it, I have a Sailor! Prayers out for him Jenn!

I should really say "the Navy has my Sailor now"

It's been blessing this N4M, thank you diannep, Catsmom, ellen0502, Craig and no way on this earth I would have made it this far without you all here giving guidance, information and just being here for me, it means more than you all will ever know, you know in scripture it says that the greatest love is the one who lays down his life for another, Not so sure that was meant just in the literal sense, you all have done so here to help us all, giving your time to help comfort and keeps us crazy worried moms sane.I hold you all in the highest regard, never think that what you do here has a small impact. There is a special place in heaven just for you all! I'm honored and blessed for the gift of you.

  • TheRocksmom

Oops FireTeamLeaderwife, you too, are included in this last post as well

  • JAK4NAK

Good morning, I know there is live streaming of graduation available but is there also still photos of graduation - more professional than my phone and taken from a better advantage point than in the audience?   Looking for best ways to capture the big event.

  • TraG151

I can't tell you how happy I am for you guys! Please please please give your new sailors a big hug for me since I can't hug mine. Congratulations to all of you. prayers for safe travels.
  • bpickship14div074

    To JAK4NAK:

I have seen pictures on the RTC facebook of graduations.  Their pictures look better than mine.  Hope that helps.

  • diannep

TheRocksMom:  What a kind post!  Thank you so very much!  We all love helping you all on here.  It really is US who feel blessed that we can do this.  So glad that we could help and congrats to your new sailor!

  • diannep

TraG;  This PIR group will remain open so PLEASE keep us aware of your son's situation and let us know when he arrives home.

  • diannep

jenn:  I don't think he was given accurate info.  He should be able to try on Monday and again on Wednesday if necessary and if he passes then, he will still be at PIR.  Prayers for him!

  • diannep

SMW:  RTC FB will post the results of Captains Cup either Monday or Tuesday.  You can access that page without being a member of Facebook.  I will post the link in a minute.

  • diannep

Here is the link to the RTC FB page:

  • jenn72675

Diannep that is what I thought. He never told me how the runs went just that he had failed that portion. In his letters to his girlfriend and I he seemed pretty confident so I am hoping he only missed by a little bit.
  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

    Sorry I wasn't on yesterday!

I was busy all day and then went to serve at our Church's Harvest Festival. Hubby and I went as Batman and Wyldstyle from the LEGO Movie. Haven't dressed up in years! It was a lot of fun!

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

Hmmm...the new set up of the comment column cuts off embedded videos (grrr). If you click the title of the video it will open up into You Tube.

  • FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW

TheRocksmom - Well, Hooyah...you made me cry! Bless you for such kind thoughtful words. I feel privileged  to be able to be on here and thoroughly enjoy being able to help somehow.

Congrats to you and your new Sailor!

  • Dr. Sport Fitness

My son called me!!! While I was asleep with ringer off (Dubai is 8 hours ahead); I am HAPPY. My middle daughter (his older sister) told me that he sounds good and is ready for PIR next week.

  • CatMom509

    Dr. Sport Fitness,

That's great yuur daughter was able to receive your SR's call!  New Navy Mom thing to do:  Always keep your cell phone charged, on, and close by because those Sailors of ours will call us at any time and want to chat~~  seems they forget to consider what time it is at their parents' place!!

  • sixpark

Are the sailors allowed to call anytime they want? We haven't been able to talk to him since October 17.

His last letter was written 10/25 and he said he needed 5 more push ups but was working hard and felt he could do it.

We were expecting a call yesterday but it never came.
  • diannep

No, sorry, sixpark.  They can only call when they have scheduled calls (as a division, and some may have watch or an appt and miss them)....or if they earn a call.  Most likely, your next call will be the I'm a Sailor call.  A great call!

Good Morning All !  Next I'm a Sailor calls will be Tues afternoon!  Last ones will be Wed. afternoon.
