Navy Moms on Facebook

Newbie

Hello everyone! My son left on Feb 6th to go to boot camp. I got a very short call from him that he will call me in 3 weeks! Then he hung up. I felt like wow. I don't have any more info as aof what division he's in or anything like that. I have read about the letter and the box. I would love to heare more of what to expect. Thanks.

    Hi Dahliamomma,

Thank you to your son for stepping up to serve our country! :) I know when my daughter went in to boot camp it (about 6 years now!), was so tough! I am sure you are the same with your son. Especially since you have no communication with him. He will be able to write you soon and you will get the info from his letter. (check return address!), anyway once you know what division his in you can start a "Navymom" discussion with those in the same division. That's how I got through it! Please let me know if you have any questions k? Also as the weeks go on, he will be able to call you too. Hang in there!  You are now a NAVY MOM and it will get better! :)

Hi there. You will receive a box of his personal items after several days. That will have a mailing address for him on the box. We received my daughter’s first letter after 18 days and her phone call after 19 days. The first call is to just tell you that he’s there safely. We are starting week 6 and have only had two real calls. If you have not heard of the app Sandboxx, check it out. It’s awesone. You write a letter on your devise, pay $3.99 and the company prints and mails the letter for you with a return stamped envelope for him to reply. It will get to your recruit in 2-3 days. It’s awese. If you want to directly email me, please do. Kimkleinsmith@gmail.com. I am more than happy to share this journey with you. There are some great websites for you to follow to keep you updated on things. Please email me as I’d love to help.
