If your Sailor doesn't yet know about the Wind & Sea Recreation Center at Bldg C-9, tell them to check it out.  I've seen it and it's impressive!  Billiards, ping pong, darts, tournaments, movies, PS and XBox, individual TV watching, WiFi, espresso café, upstairs internet café with CAC card access, Liberty trips (baseball games, bowling etc), and much more.  Mon - Thurs noon - 10 pm, Fri and Sat noon - 11 pm, Sun noon - 10 pm.  There is a downloadable monthly calendar at the link.  It's located on base at 9475 Bacon Avenue near Gate 2.  Bldg C-9 also has a post office and a food court with Subway, Five Guys, and sushi.

If your Sailor is into running, here is the list of upcoming MWR 5K, 8K, 10K Runs

Community Volunteer - MWR "Community Helping Hands" first Saturday of every month.  Meet up at Bldg C-9.  Participants receive a signed certificate and a volunteer T-shirt.  Call to register:  757-444-4814.   Open to active duty, retirees, reservists, DoD civilians and eligible family members.  Good activity to add to brag sheets for evals, if participation is consistent :)

MWR Little Creek has its own programs and golf course, and also offers rentals of campers, kayaks, bicycles, BBQs and more.  Great camping and beaches on North Carolina's Outer Banks (OBX) and elsewhere.

See Naval Station Norfolk Fitness, Sports and Aquatics for swimming pool locations and fitness classes including swimming, aerobics, weight lifting, kettlebell conditioning, and yoga.

Whether bowling for fun or in a league, the MWR Pierside Lanes offers a pro shop and snack bar.

The Naval Sailing Center and Marina on base rents boats, paddleboards, and kayaks; gives sailing lessons; and has a fishing pier.

The MWR offers Life Skills classes every fourth Tuesday of the month from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on the Norfolk base at the Belissimo Espresso Café in Bldg C-9, 9475 Bacon Ave.  Learn skills for everyday life from home repair to vacation preparation. Call 757-444-4814 for more details. Open to active duty, eligible families, retirees, reservist & DoD civilians.
