I was home today and I got the "box" from my son. I hurried to open it expecting that he put a note inside, but it was only his dirty clothes, Lol! I smiled thinking its almost like he is still home leaving his things lying around. It's been 7 whole days since he has been in BC and I have been on YouTube and this site since then...I am both nervous and excited. I am concerned about his swimming because all he ever learned to do is float and none of my children ever went past 6 feet of water. When they were young they always wanted to go swimming however, looking back they never swam they just played around...I miss him and I am looking forward to seeing him progress to the next stage of his life. I am estimating that his PIR will be around June 23rd or the 29th then he will be off to Ft. Lee which is only two hours from my home, so he can come home on weekends. Thank you all for this site it is a godsend :)

Hi! Your letter came through my email, so I thought I would make the connection. Actually, I haven't been on Navyformoms site in a long time, so I figured it might be divine intervention! :) Anyway, I had many of the same feelings you are having right now. My son is now deployed from Norfolk, but he had the same kind of start as you are talking about. I was not sure about his being a CS, not sure he would make it through BC :), and just so worried about how everything would work out for him. But, I can tell you that once he gets through, and HE WILL, it will change his outlook on life, and he will be so proud of coming through BC. (And you will too! indescribable feeling btw) My son started in 2014, and he has come so far since then. I am so incredibly proud. But I won't ever forget those feelings...the same you are having now. So the best advice I can say is....trust that your son is stronger than you know. They will be a changed person once they get through BC, and it will be a WONDERFUL thing! Culinary (CS) is the heart of the organization! It's a good place to be. Know that there has never been a more wonderful thing than to have a Navy son/daughter. It will by far, be the best thing ever....for both of you! God bless....and I will be praying for your son!

Hi my little bird, my son is not a strong swimmer either but he passed his swimming with no problems. The next mail you should get is the form letter letting you know his division and ship. If you ever have any questions this site is a great place to be.
