Current recommendations for phone calling cards for OCS

Hi all! I've read through many comments on this group re: phone calling cards while at OCS but many of the comments are from older threads. Does anyone know currently whether it's good to send a LO with a calling card or is it easy enough for them to purchase one at the NEX when they get phone privileges?  If it's best to get one prior to going, any recommendations on which card is best, AT&T was mentioned a lot in past posts? TIA

    Hello Kim8 and welcome!

    My LO was in 11-18. We did not send a phone card with him.  He never needed one as  many of his buddies left their cards by the phone for others to use.  Once phone privlidges are given, the time slots fill up fast.  If all goes well, they are able to get their cell phone back a couple of weeks later.  Hope this helps.
