"The 45-minute tour is conducted by Naval personnel. Visitors will have an opportunity to see aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, amphibious assault ships and one of the busiest airfields in the country. The tour also features historic homes from the 1907 Jamestown Exposition. The cost is $10 for adults and $5.00 for children 3-11 and senior citizens over the age of 60. CASH ONLY! One thing I recommend is the Mariners’ Museum in Newport News. We have suggested that our sailor visit when he has the opportunity, especially since they have a lot of artifacts from the USS Monitor.

I noticed that someone had mentioned Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint. We have gone there both times I have visited Norfolk. There burgers and cheese fries are amazing! And they have a huge selection of beers, ciders, etc. BUT be warned! It is a very small “hole in the wall” type place. Food is good, drinks are great, and service is amazing. But be prepared for a wait as the seating area is very small.
if you are into the whole reality tv type scene, there is a Hell’s Kitchen restaurant across from Jack Brown’s
