Communication during deployment via yahoo messenger and txt messages

This is how my son's and I keep in touch during deployments.. We use Yahoo instant messenger.. My son can log onto his Yahoo Instant Messenger and send me a txt message directly to my phone, I can then reply to them immediately.. Sometimes phone quality is very poor, calls get dropped this seems to be a lot less frustrating for everyone.. They can also send me a quick messages "hey mom I am ok..love you will call when I can" etc etc..

 

I am attaching the directions as an attachment.. hopefully everyone can see it.. if not will figure out another way..

    My son just got skype, does anyone know what I need to do to hook it up on my end?

      I have a web cam and so does he. They are cheap very cheap and I get him right in my living room and it is free! If he has internet access he can skype. While I am talking to him I snap pics of him. Thank God for skype! Spin Boldak to Florida!
