Camp Lejeune / Camp Johnson / Field Medical Training Battalion moms, family and friends - Welcome!  Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is home to more than 47,000 Marine and Sailors from around the world.  FMTB, the eight-week training course for corpsmen, is on Camp Johnson, adjacent to Camp Lejeune.

My daughter will be heading to FMTB March 16th, any info on what to expect

I have a daughter that will be heading to FMTB on March 16th, what do I need to expect while she is there. We only live about 2 hours from the base and want to take advantage of her being so close. After training she will be heading to California and who knows when we will get to see her for a visit, so we would like to have some time with her while she is so close. Everything I read is about a son in training, I would love to hear from some mom's that has had a daughter go through the training and also what life is like for our daughters once they are deployed. My daughter has told me that there is some restrictions on the females once they are deployed. Any info is appreciated.

    Hi Everyone-

    Can hardly believe how time is moving along! Did you gals/guys find the link that has the tests and what they are studying? Looks like lots of information! Really neat all they get to learn although I am not sure they think it is really neat right now! :) Sounds like they are in a routine anyway and busy of course. My son loves the work outs! Hope yours are having a great time!

    We watched "Flags of Our Fathers" this weekend - if you haven't seen it is about WWII so a bit graphic but is a good movie and shows a "Docs" job very well - at least I guess for those of us who will never experience it. What an important job and how many count on these guys!

      My son is currently in FMTB and due to graduate on the 13th, this was a great source of information when he was in Great Lakes so I figured I would see whats out here now. Anyone planning on attending graduation? Any suggestions on a decent hotel/motel int he area? We will be driving from New Jersey
