What should I expect from an EOD lifestyle?

My s/o is coming home from his deployment in Afghanistan in 2 months and he is planning to reenlist for EOD. I know he still needs to get accepted so nothing is set in stone yet, but what should I expect from the lifestyle? Training, deployments, how often do you see each other etc.

Any advice at all will be greatly appreciated!

    My son is a Master EOD Tech. He has been in for ten years. He loves what he does (although his deployments have been very scarey for all)! He is currently in San Diego. It has provided him a very good life. If he can make the cut and go above and beyond what's expected the rewards both financial and experiences are well worth all the hard work.
