Does the Meridian Base close for Christmas?
My daughter will be attending "A"School in Meridian after her PIR 11/21/2012. I was just wondering if the base closes down and they get to come home for Christmas Break?

My son PIR is 12/21/12 and I was wondering if he will go straight to A school or will he get leave? Since its during the holidays, I didn't know if they would still have training or just have them do stuff around the base. Thanks!

Ok i know the base doesnt close down but donthey still have class. How does that work with classes when some are on leave

My sailor called Wednesday night. He has liberty/leave from 4:30 pm on Dec. 21 until 4:30 pm on Dec. 28th. His PIR was November 30th. Can't wait to get him home! Our biggest problem was that flights from Jackson (which is the closest airport) take 14-20 hours to get to Florida. They fly so many different places and directions. Airline prices are also insanely high for the holidays.
