Molly’s Adopt A Sailor on Facebook

July, 2013 Adoption is the USS Stockdale DDG 106!

The USS Stockdale is an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer. They are on an 8-10 month deployment in the Arabian Gulf.

The Chaplain was previously on the USS Higgins when we adopted them. He was so impressed with the adoption that he submitted this adoption request for the USS Stockdale. We can't let him down, Mommies!

There are 252 males and 52 females in the crew.

We will not be sending pillowcases this month as they have already received them from another organization.

Both the Chaplain and the Command Master Chief have asked crew members what they would like to receive. Some said candy, toiletries, snacks, games, and magazines. But most said they want "anything from HOME."  So Molly Moms, let's do what we do best.......send these heroes some love from home!

Shipping dates are July 22 to July 25.

READY, SET, GO!!!!

        Kim (Ethan's Mom)

I received an email this morning!

        Kim,

Thank you so much for my care package.  When I opened my box in front of my shipmates, everyone all thought, “Wow.  This is the best box.”  One person even said, “It’s like she knows how we eat!”  Everything was perfect.  I’m on a high protein diet (because we’ve been working out a lot), so I really loved the jerky, tuna, and peanut butter.  Even the applesauce was refreshing.  Thank you very much for everything.

Thank you for the good vibes regarding our deployment.  We’ve been to some cool ports.  We went to Israel, and many people got to go to Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.  It was a very nice experience.

Well, I just got on watch, and I have to get back to work.  Thank you again for everything!

        With Regards,

I never expect to get a thank you but it sure was a great way to start my day!
