Hello My Son is on the USS GW and wanted to reach out to others who may have family aboard as well

    My son literally just landed on the USS George Washington. His squadron was already aboard when received his orders so they flew him out to the ship. We really wished that we could've seen his face making a hard landing from a jet onto the deck. My husband is so excited for him and probably a little envious too!
    It's just going to be really hard not hearing his voice for several months! Ugh!
    Does anyone know about sending a bunk package? I know I read somewhere that they can have a package that contains items to make their bunk private and make life a little easier while aboard.

        My son is on the USSGW stationed in Norfolk, this is his first duty station.  He was a little disappointed the ship was going to be in dry dock, he was looking forward to sea duty!
