Fort Leanord Wood Missouri Base
Hi, just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Fort Leanorwood Army Base? This is where my son will be going for his A schooling. He will be studying for EA Engineering Aide (Civil) Wondering why they are sending him to an Army base for school and what is it like there? my son heard it isn't a nice place, but I am hoping that's not true. Any one have any information or facts on this base, please let me know. I just am interested to know more if possible, less stress when you have more info. :) thanks!

We actually live outside of FLW and have since 1978. My dad was stationed here and after he retired, I stayed here. FLW is an Army base, but has a small Navy detachment. It is a large post. Most of the towns outside of base are rural, however, they have grown tremendously over the past few years. There are 4 rivers for fishing and floating. Lake of the Ozarks is located 45 minutes from post, Springfield is a little over an hour away, and St. Louis is 2 hours away. Hope this helps.
