question for sailor spouses/dependents
a friend of mine who's husband is in the air force says that she receives FSA(family separation allowance). she received it while her husband was in basic training, and she receives it now while he is in school. i had never heard of that before and was wondering if the navy pays FSA as well. thank you!
As bKm said the Navy does as well. It starts being paid once the Sailor is separated from his/her family for 30 days. It's paid during basic training, A and C schools and deployments. I believe it is back paid as well so even though it doesn't start being paid until you've been separated for 30 days, he will still get paid for those 30 days.
