Moms of "A" school Sailors

Our sailors are now in "A" school - let's share!!

Adopting sailors for Thanksgiving

My son is in Great Lakes and I hope he gets "adopted" by a family for Thanksgiving. I think it's great so wWe are now going to adopt Sailors for Thanksgiving here in Connecticut. I want to have a gift bag of stuff to give to the Sailors to take back to A school with them, snacks, items, food, etc. What are any suggestions on what to give them? I don't know what they can have or need or want. Do they have a microwave? I can give them some microwave popcorn, or other stuff like that. What are other things they would like? Also anyone who has adopted Sailors before-what time do you pick them up and drop them off? I don't care what time or how long they stay if they want to watch football and hang out with our family, but I don't want them to be bored and thinking they are there forever, so what are some of the things you do with the Sailors?

Hi aarcd, I noticed you are from CT! If you are interested, we have a great group of CT Moms on our Facebook page. We have packing parties through Molly's Adopt a Sailor and get togethers. It's a great way to get information from new and experienced CT Moms about our Sailors. You can just click on my seanmom and send me a message which will get you to my email address. Looking forward to you joining our group! We do have a mom who adopted a Sailor from Groton last year. Through our group you can ask her.
