USS Iwo Jima, USS New York

We are adopting both of these ships and they are carrying the 24th MEU.  If you have some pillowcases made please let me know!

Although we did the USS New York in Dec 2009 (thank you Ally for heading up the delivery of the pcs)

they had not deployed at that time.  Now, they are deployed with a Marine unit on board so we will do them again.  And there probably aren't many on the ship that were there in 2009.

    Dana / Dawn T,

My name is Michael and I am currently stationed on the USS NEW YORK (LPD 21). During deployment, I was the AIR BOSS on board, in charge of all the air operations that took place on a day-to-day basis. We recently returned from our 7 month deployment to the Middle East. I was unpacking my things and saw the inserts in a couple of pillow cases you made for all of us on board. I wanted to touch base and tell you "Thank you" for your fine handiwork and thinking of us while we were deployed overseas. I know that several hundred Sailors on board were able to enjoy the pillow-cases that you made for our ship. I just want to let you know that your thoughtfulness goes a long way in the morale of our crew. It is nice to know that we have the help and support from so many people back home.
Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do to assist. You have done so much already.
    Have a fine Navy Day!
Very Respectfully,  Michael LT, USS NEW YORK (LPD 21)

Good morning!  Please forgive this long overdue thank-you for the wonderful pillow-cases you created for my crew during our recent deployment.  These types of gestures mean so much to our deployed service men and women; we sincerely appreciate your kindness and efforts to support us.  It was such a nice touch that I got one personally embroidered just for me from Carol and the team in Colorado!  Thank you again for these gifts!   All the best!  Captain Coleman
