Camp Lejeune / Camp Johnson / Field Medical Training Battalion moms, family and friends - Welcome!  Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is home to more than 47,000 Marine and Sailors from around the world.  FMTB, the eight-week training course for corpsmen, is on Camp Johnson, adjacent to Camp Lejeune.

Hellllo.

So I already know that FMTB training is located in two camps. Camp Pendleton (West) and Camp Lejeune (East). If my sailor is stationed in Port Hueneme, California to work in a clinic does he have to attend the FMTB training in Camp Pendleton because they are both located in California? Or can he attend the one in Camp Lejeune if the FMTB training is readily available first? Does the location where he is stationed determine which FMTB training he attends? Please clear this confusion up with me. :)

    He may be sent to either Pendleton or Lejeune for training. My son was working in a Navy hospital in Virginia and went to Lejeune for Field Med, so perhaps an effort is made to stay nearby. We're just moms here so we really don't know official answers like this :) by the way, in future it's better to post your questions like this in the Comments, more people will see it and respond.
