Family visits to the ship?

My son has just been assigned to the Harry S Truman.  He reports tomorrow.  He said the family can come visit and tour the ship but he didn't know the details about it.  Does anyone have info on times they do the tours?

    Hi Suzy,

    My son was stationed on the great Harry S Truman for 2 deployments and got out in last July.  He gave me a private tour before he left and what an amazing tour it was!  It was just he and I and it was amazing time.  I didn't want to go aboard her while he was still enlisted,  a mom's thing.

    I don't know about this tour but you must go!!  It simply is an amazing experience.

    My prayers go out to all our servicemen/women.

      This is good to know about.  We just found out we might be visiting our sailor next week in Norfolk!  I'm definitely going to talk to him about a ship tour....

        We went to visit on a Sunday and it seemed like it was an open door policy.  It was sad for me to see where he sleeps and how small the beds were and how thin the mattress was.  His feet touch the wall at the end and he hardly has any room to put things.  Not that he needs much.  How was your tour?
