Officer Basic Graduation

My daughter is in Pt Hueme, with a graduation date in October.   Are family members invited and/or encouraged to attend?   We took the family to Newport after OCS, but living in PA it was a 6 hour car ride.  My husband and I were hoping to attend since we planned to visit before she starts her official tour in San Diego.  

Also, any recommendations where to stay?

    We have stayed in Pt Hueneme a couple times to visit our son.  The first time we stayed at Embassy Suites, Mandalay, near the base.  It is very nice.  This last time we stayed in Ventura at a Four Points Sheraton.  It was nice too.  Not as close to the beach as the Embassy Suites. 

    The Holiday Inn in Ventura has a nice view of the marina.  We noticed when we stayed.

    We didn't see a lot besides the Embassy Suites that was close to base and nice.

    There is Navy Lodging on base.  Your daughter might be able to help you check that out.
