How long does it take to receive packages and mail

Hello all:

This is my son's first deployment, he is with HSC-5 assigned to the Truman. Just wondering how long it normally takes for packages to get to the ship. I mailed his Christmas package on Dec. 7, and several other family members mailed something around the same time also, My son still hasn't received anything. Is this normal? 

I tracked my package and it shows on Dec. 17th to be at the FPO in Bahrain.

    It truly varies. I sent 4 packages on 11/23; 3 arrived on Dec 11th, the 4th ended up in Japan on Dec 11th and seemed to be lost, but then showed up on the ship on Dec 29th. My son says so far no mail has dropped into the ocean, which happens sometimes with pallet transfers. Hang in there!!

      I mailed a pkg. to my son Dec.5th, he got it on the 23rd. I bet he gets it on the next delivery!

        my sailor is deployed in Berhain for 2 years and has duties needed on the Truman also.
        How do I get mail or box to my sailor.
        I won't get a home coming cause my sailor is stuck in Berhain between signments which is close for additional assignments needed. Will someone respond ?
