Hi All,

How about 12:30 at Chili's on 28th St. on Sat. the 20th?  I think we have me, Lorraine, Yvette, Dunesmom, Cathie, tysmom, anyone else?

Chili's is on the (ok, here goes my great attempt at direction) south side of 28th Street, about 1 mile west of I-96.  It's between Patterson (the way to the airport) and East Paris.  Real close to Sam's Club.  I'll call and see if we need reservations to get us in the back. 

For those who like to use GPS, here is the address: 4580 28th St SE, Kentwood, MI 49512.

Sounds like a plan, Colleen! Hey, Ruth - are you coming? There must be more in the area - we always have a good turnout on the west side.

Boy do I wish I was able to come this time!  Sure sounds like you'll have a great time together this weekend!

Have fun Westsiders this Weekend. I had a great time at the cidermill with the eastsiders. Was wonderful to connect and hear the stories. Michmom, you have a very handsome, and sweet young sailor. My husband enjoyed talking to him and Sharons Husband.

Thanks for giving time. It is truly appreciated. It gives me relief knowing I'm not alone.

Enjoy your week, perhaps we can have an inside dinner around the holiday and bring a white elephant gift. hahah  Olive Garden is one of my favorites. Just throwing an idea out there.

Kathy - Congratulations on your 30 years of marriage!!! It is quite an accomplishment and a sign of your commitment to one another.  It is truly a blessing.

It is my anniversary too and we have also been married 30 years!!!

Should be getting my new computer today.  It's been tough getting to a computer lately.  I'll call and reserve a table for 10?  Will be good to see everyone again.  We gotta find Ruth.

If anyone wants to bring a bag of Halloween candy for me to send in my Molly's Adopt a Sailor box this month, feel free to contribute. I'll bring the address and here's the list in case you want to send a box of your own: gum, hard candy, mints, sunflower seeds, trail mix, hot sauce, single serve drink packets (the kind you place in a bottle of water), tootsie rolls, “hot tamale” candy, sour patch kids. I'm going to bring a couple cards we can all sign to include in the box. I'll have some empty boxes if you need one.

I have my computer back!  It's nice to get online with my own computer again.   Glad you brought up bringing box stuff Lorraine.

It's starting to cloud up again, darn.  It was a pretty day.

Speaking of fun, hubby and I and our sailor went to the Tigers game last night.  Had a great time and, of course, we won!!!

Dunesmom, Patterson is the road the airport is on. Chili's is just west of Patterson. Home Depot is on the corner of Patterson and 28th, you can even turn in at Home Depot and proceed in front of the store until you reach the back of Chili's. There's a Steak 'n Shake just past the Chili's. Can't wait to see you!

Mich, great photo!! We know you had a blast!!

Kevin was able to go to last night's game, his office had a few extra tickets. He sends Kacy and I a picture of where they are sitting, three rows up behind home plate!! We turn the game on and lo and behold, we see him!!! We paused the T. V. to get a picture. Then I sent Kyle an E-mail to let him know about the game on Wednesday and he answers right back, so I tell him that his dad is at the game. He thought that was so cool. Then, Kyle sends me a message that they have the game playing on the ship. They are ported in Naples, Italy and he gets not only to watch an awesome Tigers game, but he gets to see his dad on T.V. Then, better yet........he starts texting me and we talk for the rest of the game!! It was a great day even though I have had a migraine since waking up Tuesday! What are the chances that Kevin gets to go to this game, Kyle gets to watch it and see his dad on the tube. Every pitch that was thrown we saw Kevin as the seats were right there. It was so awesome! Kyle ended up staying up to watch the game, he was pretty tried today as he had duty. He has been able to go to Rome and even got to see the Pope give a blessing. He saw so much, took many pictures and we can't wait to travel to Norfolk soon. They are on the way home, this is the last port call!!! Oh, did I tell you they saw rain on the 16th for the first time since leaving on deployment in March!! Kyle said it was 'awesome!' I can't get the smile off my face, our Sailor is on the way stateside, home with us for Christmas!!!!

Very cool Sharon!  So I was looking at your husband and didn't even know it.  My brother is a HUGE Tiger's fan, so this morning I called him and sang to him the "Go Get 'Em Tigers" song.  He laughed so hard.  I even sang it to my members this morning and got the whole group shouting at the end.  What a blast.  Can't wait for the World Series.

OMG!!!! What a great story....its like out of a book...that was awesome!!!! I bet you are having a hard time wiping that smile off your face, but come to think of it who would want to???!!!

See all those who can make it tomorrow...I have to leave for work by 2....so I will be wearing my work clothes.

Sharon how super exciting!!!  I think i seen your hubby too, ok don't know what he looks like but i seen a guy sitting right in that spot looking at the camera.  think he had a blue can in his hand:)  What a great time you all had being together via text/tv. Colleen i can so see you doing this, you are so much fun!  Ok ladies i think i can get to the lunch with no problems... sure is foggy out this morning.  oh on a great note  my best friends son and his troop came home yesterday.  We are ever so proud and thankful for them all.  See in in a few:)

We took a nice picture!  Thanks for posting it Lorraine.  We had a good time.  Well I ran the 1/2 marathon today.  Did it in 2:18:31.  Considering the issues with my periformis (sp) and hamstring, not bad.  13th of 31 in my age group.  My daughter jumped in around the course and ran with me and held my hand and pulled me up hills.  Love that girl.  Wearing my medal proud.

My youngest sons home school soccer team won the state championship on Sat.

It was nice meeting other Navy moms...looking forward to doing it again.

Now, may i just share that I am getting sooooooooooooo excited that our Sailor will be coming back from their eight month deployment soon!!! I get so teary eyed every time I even think about it. This is our first, so I honestly don't know what to expect. Kelsey is packing and leaving tomorrow to get all of their stuff out of storage and into the new place. Kevin and Korey will go on the Tiger Cruise, they are so geeked about that. I have to keep reminding myself to stay calm, but it is so hard to do! Changes, we are going through changes once more. Kesley is heading south after being home with us while Diego has been out. Big adjustment for her, coming home again. It will be such an adjustment for Diego and Kelsey to get to know one another again after being apart for so long. Please, may I ask you to keep them in prayers. It is not easy for a young couple to be apart and have to get to know each other again.Oh, soon we will be standing on the Norfolk pier and watching as the Big 'E' comes around the bend! What a site that will be, tears now just thinking about it!! I have to stop for now. lol

Oh Sharon, my heart is with you.  We didn't see our son for 19 months.  I cried all the way to the airport, was on edge and on the verge of tears waiting and then when he texted our daughter and said his plane was on the runway - I had 2 tissues under each eye.  I think I cried for 10 more minutes after I hugged him for several minutes (I had to let the husband hug him).  Take a box of tissues!
