Michigan Moms (and Family)

B&C started the new semester at MSU last week.  I even got the obligatory "first day of school" picture ;-D

B’sNukeMoM - very nice picture. I hope he’s enjoying Lansing. I used to live on the East side of Lansing and loved it.I haven’t been in that area for 20+ years!

SubMom - He's enjoying it but mostly because he is finally there with his GF (after spending the last 2 years apart)!  I love seeing them both happy ;-D  And besides school he got a PT job at the Costco there (in or near Lansing - in the tire bay)  so if anyone needs tires stop by and say hi to him and give him a hug for me lol!

B’sNukeMom - I am so happy theyre doing so well. When you make it to Michigan for a visit let me know - I’d love to meet you. I’m  about 2 hours away :)

SubMom - we definitely plan on getting to MI - just haven't figure out the "when" yet.  You know I will let you know ;-D

So how many of us have a sailor in the way of this Hurricane? 

I am very fortunate that since my son is out of the Navy now he is in no danger from the hurricane.  He's in MI but he was in Goose Creek (Charleston), SC and in Norfolk, VA - both areas that are expecting to have issues with hurricane Florence.  He has many friends still in VA and I know that they are operation sortie with the ships - getting them out to sea to keep them safe!

Misisu - Our son is stationed at GC - right now enjoying his “”hurrication” - where is you sailor?

Missisu my son is at GC now they were evacuated to ft Jackson but returned to GC today. I heard there was flooding but not how bad.

So far the only damage I’ve heard of a GC  was a tree branch being down. 

Hi everyone - got to spend some time with B and his GF last week.  We all went to a wedding in FL (one of his Navy buddies).  B was in the wedding.  We had a wonderful time    ;-D  Can't wait until Christmas - they'll be coming to CA!

Here's a few pictures - we also got to go to the Georgia Aquarium.

Had a fantastic weekend with my husband. We went up north for fall colors, found some really fun two-tracks and looked for Petoskey stones -and a bunch of other pretty rocks :)

SubMom - Wow!  The colors are beautiful.  We don't get colors like that here in SoCal ;-D

SubMom - Michigan is so beautiful this time of year! I grew up in the UP so we'd make the annual trek up Brockway Mtn or Lake of the Clouds every year. Did you drive the Tunnel of Trees? We did once, but it was gloomy and rainy so the color wasn't as bright. You had a great weekend for exploring. 

MichianaMom - we did drive the tunnel of trees but it was surprisingly very green and really congested. It took 2 hours to drive 20 miles. We opted to take two tracks back towards Gaylord and saw a TON of colors. My husband has been to Brockaway Mountain a few times - I would love to see it! Maybe next year :)

Submit I’ve been in mi my whole life and still have not seen the picture rocks I think next year I will make a dual fall color and picture rock tour

NickSydmom - I would LOVE to see pictured rocks. I want to go agate hunting too! Someday.....

It has been a big week at my house. We got the I’m a sailor call from my daughter and the I passed my Comp test from my Nuke (son) celebration is happening 

BZ NickSydmom - definitely a time for celebration ;-D

I'm definitely going to have to make a trip to MI since 3 of my nuke moms are MI moms!! NickSydmom, SubMom and MichianaMom!  Hopefully sometime in the next year I'll be heading your way for a visit and we can get together ;-D

Been watching your weather (I keep the Lansing weather app on my phone). Brrrrrr you all are in for some cold & snow coming later in the week.  Hope you all keep warm!

B'sNukeMoM - so I take it you don't want to visit this weekend :) I'm kind of looking forward to it just because I can get pictures for my son who loves the cold weather.

SubMom - I won't be heading to MI until it's much warmer weather lol!  I was talking to B the other day and he mentioned he bought himself some really good weatherproof boots.  I guess he got caught in the rain a week or so ago between classes and said he spent hours in wet shoes/socks.  He didn't want to do that again!
