I am new here. My son arrived at Great Lakes on Thursday. I'm happy to have found a resource for my questions.

My son and his wife (both Navy Veterans) live in Michigan.  We've been lucky to visit them multiple times.  We live in CA (where our son was born and raised!).

Be sure to join the boot camp group too. You'll find lots of valuable info there and also in your PIR group.

I am in southwest Michigan. My son just finished his second year in the fleet. 

I also recommend visiting the BootCamp Mom Board. Lots of information there and a lot of people who get what you are experiencing. Always willing to help and answer questions the best they can
