    Hello All Proud Texans,

I am from a small rural community in Texas called Farrsville...Our closest two cities would either be Burkeville, Tx or Jasper, Texas...My Son joined the Navy in  Jan 2012 and graduated bootcamp in March of 2012.. He is currently stationed in Washington State. My daughter recently left for bootcamp on July 22, 2014.. Her PIR is 09/19/2014... I look forward to visiting and chatting with everyone.. Her group is Ship 03 division 293.

  • Tx Mom of Far Away Nuke

Chaunandvikkiimom:  My father-in-law currently owns a home in Woodville, which is near Jasper.  Howdy!  I'm in Springtown, TX, which is NW of Fort Worth.

  • tsufish

I'm for Fort Worth and my son just started basic.

  • LisaMAmom

Are there any Moms out there from East Texas who have loved ones leaving for BC on Aug 12,2014?
  • LisaMAmom

Having a BC "Send Off" party tommorrow for my son. Looking for last minute ideas and suggestions to make this memorable for him. If you had one for your son/daughter, what made it very special for him/her. Any ideas appreciated!
  • Navy2Marine1Mom

I put together a video/picture collage. I included a picture of each guest with my son, ranging from birth to the week before. He and the guests got to see how they were woven together in life and memories. My son doesn't like all the attention, so this let him say thanks to those who had brought him to this huge crossroads.
  • tsufish

elilam46 I work in Azle!  Drive through your little town on my way to and from Fort Worth!

  • Kylesmom

I am actually live in Jacksonville.Son has been in for almost 2 years. He is stationed in Norfolk
  • LisaMAmom

Kylesmom. My 18 year old son is just leaving for BC on Aug 12. Does this ever get any easier for the moms?
  • Cher4hersailor

I'm from Marion, my sons pir date 9-12
  • Geraley T

Mark's mom... It is hardest during their time is BC, limited communication and constant worry about their safety, etc. But when you get to see them march into that big hall during PIR, the pride you feel knowing that you raised a helluva seaman makes all of it worth the sleepless nights. It gets easier when they get to A school and they can have cell phones and laptops. I am entering my third year of being a Navy mom. The worrying is still there but I now he is in good hands.
  • LisaMAmom

Thank you Geraley T. I knew joining this group was the best thing I could do, because of all the support of moms who have gone through this and those who are just beginning. I am so proud and filled with joy, but my heart aches too. And he is not even gone yet! I will be okay and so will he! Graduation will be here before I know it.
