Headed to Gulfport Saturday to see Ty....taking a truck tag....picking up a TV...shopping at the Outlet Mall...can't wait to see him....haven't seen him in a month....I miss that young man bunches....Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

We found out my DIL is having a girl! Due date is still July 4th.

I'm running out of care package ideas. HELP!!!

I wish I was going to Gulfport, we just got two feet of snow.

My husband said they need to be cotton. If you shop online at a NEX or BX, you should be able to find them. If need be, we could always pick some up and send them out for you since we have one here on base. Just let me know!

My son is in Kandahar for awhile and my 18 yr old pregnant DIL who doesn't work of have a license. Is moving on base 3/28... will anyone be around?

Does anyone know of any reputable moving companies? My DIL is moving on base and has no license and can't carry heavy items because she is pregnant. She wants me to come down, but airfare and hotels could be close to $1,500.00 just to go down.

Hey Gulfport Moms, I need a favor! again.. I am sending my daughter down to help my 18 yo pregnant DIL to move on base, but she is trying to get her license to move my son's truck on to base and to get to her doctor appointments and my daughter isn't 21 so I need someone in the area to go with my DIL who is licensed and 21! Any takers??

Ann-Marie I was trying to PM you-I have family there. My brother is a retired chief who now works civil on base. I can send you his information.

Just wanted to say hi all!  I'm a soon to be Seabee mom.  My daughter is in BC now and will be headed to A-School in San Antonio, TX in a few weeks.  I'm looking forward to talking to you all soon!

Denise and Dona sorry for the delay in responding. My computer crashed after I posted this. She needs a licensed person over the age of 21 to go with her so she can take the road test. Thank you and I will let you know if she needs help. She is trying to find someone on her own first.

got to see my seebee daughter on skype last week it was so good to see her and talk to her.  She looks good but sounds tire.  Her highlight of the day other than the job she set out to do is watching the camels and people leading the goats and sheep by, such alittle thing as that makes her happy and not miss home so much, makes you wonder if we all take our busy lives for granted and why we don't stop and enjoy the simple things!  Hope everyone is having a good day.

Denise, I was wondering if Michael is leaving the Navy on is own or if he was one of the Seabees "laid off" if that's the proper term. I know he has served our country for many years now, and was just curious. If I'm being too nosy, just let me know. I think what the "powers that be" are doing stinks, and my son is a Seabee in the Reserves based out of JBLM/Everett. Thanks

Does anyone know which A-School in San Antonio the Seabee Electricians go to?  I have tried finding A-School information on navyformoms and FB but there are so many I'm not sure which one to pick...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Denise, that's what I thought. It is just beyond me that the Navy would do this to their men/women after they have given their country so many years. Like I said before, it stinks. Best wishes to Michael and his wife. Is she in the Navy also? Or will they be coming "home"?

My asking was to get a feel for if my son might ever have a chance to go full-time. Are they still "phasing" the Seabee's out? Thanks for your honesty and knowledge!

My son finished A school in August 2011, came home and got married. He's told me he has 4 years to go and will be 21 in July. Yes, just a baby. I know exactly how Michael feels pain wise. Glad to hear he has a plan and will be able to follow through with it.

Hi eveyone im so glade i found this sight iv been a member of navy moms since my son went to boot camp on oct.31st he is now at witchatal falls texas and will be done May 3rd then home for a week :)but off to italy May 17th for 3 years does anyone have a love one in or going to Italy.

My daughter is headed to San Antonio in a couple weeks for A-school as a CE, do any of you know/remember what they are allowed to bring?  (phone, laptop, clothes, ect...) I am tring to pack a bag for her as her recruiter suggested to take to the airport for her after PIR...any information would be greatly appreciated Thank you!

Thank you.  I already asked her and she wants me to bring the bag she had packed before she left...which is a full suitcase stuffed full.  So I was trying to thin it out I bought her a black back pack (someone had said at one point they could have one) and I was just going to put the stuff in it she could have, and let her either take the bag if she could or pull the items out at the airport.

LOL yeah I know she wants different underwear for sure!

karla,when my son went off to A school w gave him his lap top cell phone,whatever she can fit in her bg and her pack back she cantake they dont get to were clothes until they get phased up but pack her items to sleep in they can were those to bed and yes her underwear

I sent a box to Shepherd for my daughter. I would suggest sheets. They have twin beds and if I remember, they can borrow sheets until they get some. Let her also know she can use the her cell right from the start, just know that for a laptop, the internet connection is horrible. We got a "hot spot" for my kiddo and it rarly connected. The girls are on the first floor and the windows do not open so it is hard, she can go outside and may get connction. Phase up is different for all. She will know how it all works soon.

I will tell you this, cherish the time in A-school (if you ae close with her), in the start they have much downtime. I got calls 3-5 times a day. Now I get calls about every 2-3 days, mostly FB. She is deployed and that is not even typical for most.

She will be busy as class starts, lots of information to learn. You will likely here how she is "bored" then class will kick in.

i was just thinking about you miss chelsea i havent been on here in awhile! we actually live on base in bruns park area i love it i know some people dont really like living on base but its just so convinient for my husband and I! We have a 3 bedroom townhome but there are smaller ones we also have neighbors that are in 4 so its pretty awesome!

Thank you Tobianne!  We have always been really close and I definatly look forward to the phone calls...even one would make me so happy at this point, she has now been at bootcamp 7 weeks and I have only received one call, at least I get letters every wednesday, or I would probably be locked up by now, haha,  thank god I get to see her next friday!

YAY!  One step closer to being a Seabee mom...my daughter had her PIR on Friday 04-20, and flew to Wichita Falls, TX on Saturday 04-21.

Hi karlajean ,My son is in Aschool at wichita falls since graduation January 6th but he will be leaving soon to go to Italy on May 21st he is comong home on May 3rd.My might have met her everytime they have new cbees aboard he shows them around..

Hi Michelle, I know she got there Saturday and she said she had a tour of the facilities Sunday that would be neat if it was your son showing her around.  I bet you are very excited for him to come home in May....Is he being stationed in Italy?
